Tarry Lodge Enoteca and Pizzeria - New Haven
Consistently an excellent experience.
Food always good and best noise level in the area
Amazing! We loved our server and wish we caught her name. Made the experience even more amazing!
Always delightful and delicious, Tarry Lodge New Haven is perfect for any and all occasions. The menu is varied and has something for everyone. Some dishes like the grilled octopus, are the best in the area. The new prix fixe menu is a very good deal.
The service is worthy of a fine restaurant anywhere: expert, friendly, engaged, and charming.
What more could ou want?
Delicious food in a relaxed but elegant setting. Service outstanding.
Good food, good service.
My wife and I went with 2 other couples and everyone was extremely satisfied with their dinners
I have never had a bad experience at Tarry Lodge, I would recommend getting there if you have never tried it.
Great service. Our server, Sam, was excellent. Wonderful specials.
I had only dined at Tarry Lodge once before and had an 'ok' experience, food-wise. This most recent experience was better all-around and I would definitely return. Service was good on both occasions.
Our server was very friendly and the food was delicious. We had an enjoyable experience.
- Though not unheard of, a glass of the least expensive sparkling wine/champagne is very pricey (we paid $11 per glass)
- Desserts are also overpriced. ($10 for a scoop of vanilla ice cream with a shot of espresso)
- Being totally blunt, the most memorable/worst part of this experience was the WHISTLING by staff members! I think two gentlemen were involved. It was sporadic, but enough to annoy (there is already background music, I don't desire background whistling on top of that). The restaurant is relatively small in size, so the audible whistling behind my head made me want to throw my fork. I was on the cusp of saying something and would have had there been a super convenient opportunity. Whistling implies a happy employee with surely no negative intent, but it also implies a bit of inconsideration for the people around!
Food was delicious service was phenomenal all in all a great meal
The atmosphere is warm and welcoming. I feel I’m surrounded family who want to ensure nit only good good but a pleasurable experience.
I was dining with six year old granddaughter and it could not have been nicer. Food was fabulous too.
The price fix is an excellent option and great portions. Our waiter was very friendly and helpful with our questions. Definitely an enjoyable experience!
Love this restaurant because of the food service and great wine list ( so sad they may close the Tarrytown location) but we will just have to keep visiting the New Haven location
Discovered this gem too late. But we will always return when in the area.
Very busy for lunch. John was an excellent server. Food is always delicious. Lovely area for shopping and people watching.
Service, food taste and quality have been consistently good over the years. This is our favorite place in NH area.
Server John was very attentive. Fine food as always.
We were Visiting Our son at Yale who just wrote and directed a play! Our dinner could not have been more delicious or more celebratory we had such a lovely evening we will come back over and over and over
Excellent food and exceptional service, as always
Delicious food, both staples (the bucatini) and special (olive oil soft serve with fennel pollen). Sam was an excellent server in every way: attentive, friendly, recommendations/guidance — you name it, she was “I’d ask fo be seated in her section again”-level.
great food and service, will return. Great wine list too.
Great service, very attentive. Somewhat expensive vibe list with a few decent exceptions. Slightly undercooked pasta although it is al dente and I should have asked to make it less al dente before head( new culpa). Plenty of parking on the street on Sunday night. Hospitable place and overall good value in an upscale setting
Tarry Lodge is one of my husband and I's favorite restaurant. The food is delicious and the staff is great.
Phenomenal food! Fantastic service - great experience overall!
Took my husband here for his birthday. It was our first time dining at tarry Lodge and we loved it. We will definitely come back again We want to sit at the chefs counter and watch everyone in action service was great our server John was spot on and the food was delicious I had the duck with the butternut squash risotto and it was fantastic my husband had the tagaletelli Bolognese and he thoroughly enjoyed that as well.
Mid week dining was most pleasant. Not crowded and efficient service. Good was superb. Had the duck breast and it was served exactly as requested.
Can’t wait to return
Frequent visitors and the Restaurant never dissapoints,
Very attentive service and good pizza.
Been there a bunch. Service not what we have come to expect. Slow and unmotivated. Host jumped in to help our struggling waitress.
Food was excellent and I am picky! The steak was fantastic and I asked for the Brussels sprouts to be prepared without honey and they were truly fantastic. Cooked perfectly!
Another memorable dining: the pasta dishes were all fantastic (Bucatini Al’amatriciana, Black Fettucine, Cacio E Pete), as well as the pork belly special. The server, Adrienne, was knowledgeable and attentive.
Will go back whenever in New Haven.
Absolutely fabulous experience. We came here the night we got engaged and then returned for an "engagement anniversary." They treated us incredibly well and made us feel truly special -- they even remembered exactly where we sat the night we got engaged. Thank you for making us feel like we're on top of the world.
Food and service are always exceptional. Pizza (Goat Cheese, pistachios and honey) is an epiphany. Spaghetti alla Carbonara made with Guanciale is as close to Rome as you'll get in the states (except that they add garlic). Eggplant and Short Rib are stand-outs. Server was prompt, polite, professional and personable. Only downside of the place is that it's small and seating is tight. That cuts both ways as we met an absolutely delightful German lady and her daughter who is attending Yale on one side, and 4 young ladies on the other side celebrating a birthday.... and taking a LOT of pictures.... no so delightful. Having said all that, go; it's worth the trip.
This has been our “go to” restaurant in New Haven for several years. It is always consistently good. The service is definitely outstanding. It is somewhat overpriced but usually worth it. New Haven is generally overpriced with Yale being there.
Our dinner was a wonderful experience. I told the restaurant beforehand that my boyfriend was celebrating his 50th birthday and they went above and beyond. The service was amazing and the food was delicious. They gave us the best table in the house! The wine was outstanding. I need more of that almond ricotta cheesecake. Thanks for a wonderful evening!
Always a great time and great food!! Love the burratta and pizza's!!
We consider ourselves Regulars here- at least once every 2 weeks- and are never disappointed.
Megan did an Excellent job as our Server.
Loved everything. First time there and will be returning and will recommend. Very glad the recommendation popped up on open table.
Had a great dinner experience with my wife, our server was great, and worked with us really well. We weren’t fluent in the menu, but she made us feel very comfortable. She helped us with allergies and explained everything without pressure.
Always love eating here. Wait staff is wonderful, and food is consistently delicious.
Delicious,!wonderul, professional service —have returned multiple time’s
