Tandoor Chop House
*Please note that only our chicken is halal
**Our Sunday Mighty Thali menu is only available on Sunday's from 12-4pm (last orders are taken at 3.45 pm)
Absolutely amazing food. Loved it. Everyone in our party agreed. Lamb chops, tandoori chicken and cauliflower were superb. Great value for money. Will def be back.
Great food, especially the lamb chops.
Buzzy vibe in there. It does get hot, so be prepared!
Best Tandoori / grilled Indian food we tried in London.
Great food, but pretty terrible service, including being asked to vacate our table an hour after arriving.
This is a smallish place with a neighborhood feel. Only negative for us was the noise level, due to a lot of hard surfaces in a small space. But the service was outstanding and the food is very good. Not your typical Indian fare and a great alternative to the usual places. We,d go back.
Food is average- dry chicken. Over priced slightly
Great lamb chops. The food comes out very quickly. Would say the service was a little slow, didn’t bother us as we were very chilled and there on a Sunday. However, can see on a week day evening being a problem! However, happily go back for the lamb chops and chips! Great chutney too!
I have been to Tandoor Chop House; now I am getting the hang of it.
Most of the items are really good - you just need to know what you want to order.
I love the Chickpea naan and Black Dahl.
This was our second visit. Excellent lamb chops and kebabs. The truffle naan was yummy. Service was efficient and friendly. Will surely go back
Really bad. Meat was just fat. Lots of the food bland and tasteless- avoid, avoid, avoid!
Excellent food and pleasant service. Interesting twist on Indian food which is absolutely delicious. Beer all in cans. Bottled cider and wine available . Would highly recommend. Quite small restaurant so booking recommended especially at weekends.
Ordered some delicious food here but unfortunately the chicken dishes were all either quite dry or extremely dry. I understand there is danger in undercooked chicken but I'm sure when you're paying quite reasonable money for the food it shouldn't be so dry it resembles the Sahara.
What a trendy place! I loved the spin on the Indian food...I call it a bit fusion. Fav was the truffle naan. I can eat them all day! Plan to go back tomorrow before leaving back for the states.
Really great experience. Amazing food- thoroughly enjoyed.
Good value, tasty food in a restaurant with a bit of atmosphere. Had the house Chicken Tandoor and it was excellent.
Love the food and service - consistently good. Just a bit too noisy!
Remember that it was better before... went on Sunday so ordered the thali for £25 pp. This was easy & lazy. The food was plentiful and ok but it didnt feel like it was prepared with love ie all there but felt like it had gone a little cold as they were churning it out like a Happy Meal. This could be awfully unfair but that was the impression. The service was OK but the staff on a sunday seemed more about catching up with each other and cleaning stuff than making sure the table was fine. We were sat near the back and the noise from the hand dryer every time the toilet door was open was DEAFENING. Sorry wont be rushing back anytime soon. TBH will try Kricket or Dishoom instead
If you fancy a bit of spicy meat near Trafalgar Square, check out the Tandoor Chop House. The lamb chops are fab.
Nearly without fault. Loved everything other than the paneer which was a little bland.
A lively, popular restaurant (many would-be diners were turned away during our meal) serving original and delicious food. The flavours were combined beautifully using fresh and imaginative ingredients. The service was fab (thank you, Ireni!) and the atmosphere was perfect for celebrating a 21st and a 60th birthday simultaneously. Our party of six loved the unpretentious and friendly nature of the restaurant and we felt totally relaxed and treated (and pleasantly full).
We really enjoyed the food which was delicious and unusual - celeriac tikka was very good. The service was perfect. Restaurant rather noisy - but it was a Friday night at peak time.
Very pleasant dining experience in every way. Rustic, yet tasteful decor and quality dishes of ample portions. Set in the heart of busy central London, but being slightly tucked away off the main drag makes for a pleasant dining experience at a reasonable price.
We had a very good dinner at Tandori Chop House. The food is nice and spicy and well presented. Don’t bother with the chutney thali, which was over priced and didn’t come with any naan or popadum (this menu change should be remedied by management ASAP). The Coronation Broccoli was really interesting and highly recommended, and the smashed cucumber was a nice cooling foil to the extremely spicy (yum) lamb chops. The starter kebabs were a good size, so a nice meal could be built around these with some shared grilled meat. Overall, it was great and I will be back. I think a few little tweaks to the menu are needed.
Great Tandoori cooked food. We had some delicious starters - delicious light crisp onion bhaji and a tasty sheekh kebab roll. For mains the whole sea bream was fantastic with a chutney on the side and the masala fries were spicy but not overwhelming. We enjoyed the masala boti rubbed ribeye which was off the bone and a small portion but very good. There was an excellent dahl and the naans had interesting and good flavours. Portions are not huge and we were brought our mains before our starters had been cleared away. We were offered dessert as our mains were cleared and asked for 5 minutes but they never returned so eventually we had to pay up and leave to go to a show. Servers were smiley and friendly though a bit too quick with the mains and too slow with the dessert menu. It wasn't too busy and it had a lively atmosphere. The decor was old-style wooden panelling which was interesting with some shabby (chic?) venting tubes running across the ceiling. Food was served on delightful old patterned plates.
Our waitress (lovely Spanish lady) was very attentive, friendly and professional. All other staffs was very friendly and inviting. Food is very good. It was a birthday celebration for our friend. A lovely surprised at the end when they bring out the dessert with a candle and all the staff sang a birthday song to the birthday boy. Was a nice touch. Thank you.
Wonderful and creative cuisine that is expertly prepared! My one note is that our waiter was not sure what some of the menu items were. I believe they need better staff education.
Honeymoon dinner for us visiting from Toronto
My third visit and a reliably pleasurable experience. A bustling, popular restaurant but the hardworking staff keep the service friendly and efficient. You can watch your food being cooked in the big tandoors. The spicing of the food is excellent and you can really taste all the different flavours in each dish. Quite hot and noisy during peak times but the food makes it worthwhile.
Food was excellent as always. Lamb chops stand out every time
Intimate setting and pleasant food. Nothing memorable and portions pretty small.
Great food on numerous occasions. Friendly staff and lovely atmosphere!
Great place. Wonderful food and superb service. The black pepper chicken and the crispy lamb chops are sensational.
Great quick food. Full of flavour. Well presented. Nice small menu with good choices. Enjoyed thoroughly.
We told our server we didn't know much about Indian food, all of her suggestions were spot on
What a find!
Food was stunning, great ambience , will go again but don't tell anyone as it might get too busy!
Indian food? Indian-ish.
Service was rushed. Server talked so fast, it was often difficult to understand him. Server took no time to explain or describe dishes. Beware the rushed "Can I bring to a little xxx to nosh on while you are deciding what you want?" He will NOT bring a complimentary bread, etc. He brought us FRIED ONION RINGS that cost 6 pounds.
We had lamb (charcoal black on edges). Rabbit. ok. Chicken tikka ordinary.
2 tiny naans (6" diameter each?) and dips set us back 14 pounds. Really?
The lamp chops are out of this world, just incredible
Great food - a modern take on Indian. Super friendly staff.
Dinner here can be a long ordeal or a light affair. Perfect for wary travels. Try all the different types of naan and don't forget the specials!
