The dining experience at Tamarind was superb. The attention to detail, the food, the service and the ambience was excellent. The only downside is the tables are close together and the restaurant is loud. I had a hard time hearing my husband who was sitting directly across from me.
Outstanding food which gently stimulates and burst open your taste buds. Dedicated, gifted chef's and staff.
What an amazing experience from start to finish.
The greeting at the door was lovely and the atmosphere was good as well.
Food was amazing and bags of flavour in every course we had, as we had the taster menu and accompanied by wines with every course.
Would go back in a heart beat
This was not my favourite but it was not awful either. I did find the space to be very cramped and although the food was good it did not blow my mind. Maybe i was looking forward to it too much and my expectations were too high!!
Food not good enough for price. Couldn't understand waiter, which was a shame as nice to know ingredients in food.
Great service and great food! The waiters were very accommodating to my food intolerances and the gave a great surprise for mine and my wife's anniversary. 10/10 experience.
Excellent experience at Tamarind. Service to the highest standard. Food superb. Most enjoyable, would certainly revisit.
The gourmet Menu was absolutely amazing
Truely remarkable the tenderness and flavor
The service was impeccable
Just unbelievable food, presentation, Staff
The food was awesome
Lobster was crazy good
Can not recommend this enough
Delicious, inventive food and excellent service. Because the restaurant seating area is open to the kitchen and the tandoor oven area it gets pretty warm and can be a bit noisy. We were seated very close to the kitchen area, whilst it was nice to see what is clearly a very efficient kitchen at work, if eating there again I'd request a table at the other end of the restaurant.
Great on the location / ambience and service. Very friendly staff
The food was a let down though. This is my 3rd time at the Tamarind and my first at ordering a main course that should either bring you memories of homes (for an Indian diner) or bowled over by the creativity of the chef
Unfortunately it was neither. Neither the Butter Chicken nor the Chettinad Chicken Biriyani made me feel that way. That said, some of the starters were awesome.
The experience and food were both awesome . Good hospitality.
Nice food excellent service from attentive staff. Food came out in a timely manner and the experience was nice.
A cordial and friendly place with a good choice of westernised Indian Cuisine. Lingotto (forgive my spelling) was a friendly and a patient whilst attending us. All the prawns in the menu, the avocado and mango salad and the gulag jamun are recommended, from the selection we ordered. Will return no doubt.
I took a client for dinner last Thursday. Staff were extremly polite and welcoming. Dining room is downstairs and easy on the eye, with open plan kitchens. My guest and I opted for starters of scallops, salad and Samosa. All were very flavoursom and well presented. However Scallops and Samosa were luke warm at best.
Mains,we opted for Butter chicken, which we were told was a signature dish and a number of sides+ Nan. The curry was very dissapointing and was overpowerd by what seemd like tomatoe paste. Nan was luke warm/cold, rice cold, sides barely warm. Curry was served in a mini iron dish, but soon failed to retain its heat due to lack of hot plates and became more unpleasant as it became colder by the minute.
There is nothing worse than eating cold/luke warm food. If i had been with a friend, i would have sent whole lot back. But did not want to make my guest feel uncomfotable. Its mega pricey too, £100+ per head. Upset as i could have gona to my local restaurant and had a flavoursome meal full of flavour. This fell well short of my expectations. Alas i will not be returning unless someelse is paying the bill!!
Excellent place for a family lunch with great ambience and top notch service. Needless to say food was great too.
Good restaurant, but still much behind Benares, need to notch up the quality of food
I excellent service and ambience
Lovely touch to bring out anniversary celebratory cake
Chicken Biryani delicious
Okra delicious and fresh but not keen in coconut shavings (too hard to chew)
Dhaal was not as flavoursome as I’ve had in other similar restaurants (too sour and watery)
Prefer a more dry Potato curry
Bill seem too expensive
I am not some one who complains but after spending £700 on a truly disgusting meal and don't be fooled it's not an Indian and I come from India please believe me don't waste your money the music was mernotterness and we arnt the only people who felt so we heard some of the comments
Absolutely blown away by our outstanding lunch. Went for the lunch set menu and it was fantastic. Good choice of food and great value for money. The best lunch we have had in a long time. Food so delicious especially the Rajasthani street food starter. My favourite. Thank you everyone at Tamarind. We will be back!
Nice environment, super helpful staffs, authentic Indian flavour, great vibes!
Outstanding food, about service-the waitresses need a bit more training. Overall impresión very good. Definitely will go again.
Good friendly service. Food was good, with interesting presentation and flavours. Some dishes (the seabass) was exceptionally good though we were somewhat disappointed with the biriyani.
We would go back, but probably would not have the biriyani - nothing wrong with it but we enjoyed the other dishes much better.
It’s been nearly 20 years since I last ate at Tamarind.
The menu has changed but Tamarind remains a special experience.
Lovely meal, great service.
Lovely fresh food, all gorgeously flavoured. Ambience relaxed and contemporary, service great. Nothing negative to say at all
Yes but service should be more accurate. They didn't change plate between second and third course !
Best High-end Indian food around. Every bite is perfect, service is impeccable and it makes for a very memorable experience!
Very nice experience
I come again the next time i will be in London
Best regards from Italy
Food was excellent. Presentation very good, flavorful-and portion size fine,
Service mediocre. Waited paid no attention and it took forever to get the check.
Ambiance modern. Tables tightly packed and restaurant VERY noisy. Ceiling would benefit from acoustic tiles.
Food is soooo delicious.. I could say best Indian restaurant in London!!
We had the gourmet menu and it was delicious! But a lot of food!
Thank you Tamarind team for the amazing dining experience. The food and the wine pairing were absolutely fantastic, the service attentive and friendly.
Thank you again for helping me make my husband’s birthday so special.
The next time we visit London we definitely will be coming back!
This is fine dining Indian style with an excellent selection especially in the grill section
Great food, interesting take on the old favourites and some different dishes
It was my husbands birthday and I wanted to be a surprise. I invited his friends down, however the reception staff ruined the surprise by keep on asking me when or are the other guest coming.
It really annoyed me as I then they asked me to downsize. I then got annoyed and told them yes they are coming! And explained it was meant to be a surprise.
They apologised and that about it.
Apart from that everything else was great! Just ruined the surprise!
Best restaurant in London by far, the service was completely Faultless!! The cocktails and menu were perfect
Our first trip to London and we were blown away by Tamarind. Food was absolutely incredible and everyone there was nice, helpful, and went out of their way to make sure we were having a wonderful experience. The prawn curry and char-grilled lamb chops are must try’s! Next time we come to London, we are definitely going to Tamarind.
the music is by far too loud; the noise level is unbearable; once the starter finished, the main dish is served immediately giving the impression of a factory rather than a restaurant; the turn over of tables seems to be a prime objective. Very poor experience for the price . Never again!
Fabulous meal. Never fails to deliver. Great staff especially Clifford and Andrees. Love it.
