Local Raw Fish
Market Fish of the Day
eggplant, pomegranate, lemon, sumac
Ate there with our family for an anniversary dinner at the time of 'social distancing'. No doubt the vibe of the place was impacted by that however in general we thoroughly enjoyed the evening and the food was delicious - though portion sizing (other than the gnocchi) was not unduly generous.
overall a nice ambiance and pleasant night out.
We were very disappointed with the selection from the menu and the amount of food that was served for the amount that we paid. It was a two course set menu @ $60 per head. My partner and I both ordered the chicken and got two small pieces of chicken with some sauce and kale with a complimentary (lettuce) salad. The desert was very disappointing as well and we both walked away still hungry!!!
Our favourite restaurant without a doubt!!
Thoroughly enjoyed our dinner. Food was delicious but service was slow. However, they were extremely pleasant and explained they were down a waiter.
Would definitely eat at Tallwoods again.
We always love Monday night as the chef cooks a three course meal and everyone eats it. It is delightful to have no idea what is coming or what country it comes from and it is ALWAYS delicious.
If there are fours instead of fives it is only because - in five Monday night visits - two desserts have been less interesting than other courses.
Yummy food. City standards in this Mollymook eatery.
Tallwoods - always great service and local vibe - keep going ! Oh - and great food too
delicious food. nice casual setting with high quality dishes
Great food, too expensive though...tables too tightly packed in as well. Very knowledgeable staff for matching wines...food and staff didn’t suit the cafe style restaurant.
Food was amazing
Great to see locally sourced food
The quality of the food did not match what we had experienced on previous visits. The choice of what was on the menu was disappointing and the cost was high for what was a disappointing experience.
Tallwood’s never disappoints- the food here is 1st class in taste and always a point to difference to delight.
We ate at Tallwood on a Monday night so had the chef's set menu. We enjoyed every course. Well presented and very flavoursome.
As usual, Street Food at Tallwood is something to look forward to. The Sicilian cuisine was delish. Looking forward to April
Great chef's tasting menu, knowledgeable wait staff & great value.
Terrific restaurant, great food and service made for thoroughly enjoyable experience!
A genuinely different, exciting, delicious meal. Wine excellent and service friendly and professional.
Entrees nice, pork main very tough and inadequate utensils to eat. Will try again though.
Milton/Mollymook boasts numerous good to very good places to eat. This is one of the unsung gems, located close to Mollymook beach next to Bannisters Pavilion (which has its own good rooftop restaurant and bar). Small and with a pleasant, cosy ambience, Tallwood offers a fixed-price menu covering most tastes, a good wine list and excellent service. There is abundant parking. Note that Tallwood has restricted opening hours.
Food excellent as always and a wonderful combination of flavours and textures. Would highly recommend Tallwood to anyone who loves fine good !
Tallwood service is good and the food is always amazing, never been let down with the experience. One of the best restaurants on the south coast and Sydney area.
The most delicious food wine and service. Highly recommend
Very fresh local and organic food OMG!
Highly addictive and very fresh. Friendly staff, comprehensive, local wine list and modern without being pretentious.
Tallwood Eatery is our favourite local restaurant. On our most recent visit, the food was excellent, as always, but the service, though friendly, was very disorganised. Hopefully just one bad night...
Intriguing menu featuring top quality local produce, well presented and super tasty making for a great dining experience!
Great food and service. The flavours and combinations of each dish was amazing. We tried the fish, pasta and meat for main course. Good wine list.
Exceptional food atmosphere and the best and friendliest staff on the south coast
Delicious meal but the Mushroom starter was out of this world.
Overall Tallwood restaurant was pretty good. However we were put into the later seating and the meal took a long time to arrive. The food when it did arrive was excellent!
Checked the reviews and menu on their website good reviews and the menu looked to my taste so my wife and I booked and went to the restaurant.
When we got there we checked the menu, turned out the menu wasn’t the same as on the website the menu hadn’t been updated on their site.
We couldn’t find anything on the menu that suited us so we decided on some tapas dishes found them average and over priced.
Wait staff great.
If the current menu was on their website we would not gone to that restaurant
We absolutely love Tallwood.
And street food is always fun.
Live music. Amazing food. Delicious wine.
Happy customer. We’ll be back.
The food is really inventive and so delicious! Friendly staff and great vibes in one of my favourite coastal towns!
Amazing food and fantastic service! Always a great choice for a special dining experience! Delicious 👌🏼
We run holiday accommodation near Milton, and we used to love Tallwoods, and recommend it to our guests. Not any more. Our meal was marred by very poor service, which included waiting 15 minutes for our first drinks to arrive, a waitress who could not explain the menu, and and then - to top it all off - having a glass of champagne knocked into the laps of our guests. Not entirely her fault, as the table we were seated at was very small and quite cramped - even though it was apparently intended for 6 guests and we had booked for only 5. The waitress used all our table napkins to mop up the resulting mess. We then had to ask for more napkins, as no replacements were forthcoming. While the food was generally good, one serving of Wagyu beef was clearly not only NOT Wagyu beef, but was quite inedible, and could not even be cut with the cutlery provided. We asked that the chef be advised, but the staff appeared to be indifferent to our complaints. We complained to both the waitress who served us and the the maitre'd when we left about the quality of the beef, but to no avail. There was no apology or any recompense offered. Overall it was an embarrassing evening, as we had specifically recommended Tallwoods to our guests on the basis of previous experiences.
We will not be going back to Tallwoods, and we no will longer be recommending it to our guests.
The chef's menu on the Monday night we went to Tallwood was outstanding , food was excellent and the service great . I will be returning and will be recommending Tallwood to everyone .
Enjoyed very unusual taste combinations. Excellent mussel nibbles to start. Prawn skewer was a tad hot (a touch of chilli?) for me, the kanga skewer reportedly a tad tough. However the barramundi and salad leaves was great as was the strawberry dessert. The decor is in between artistic and industrial.
Tallwood eatery is a local treasure. We shared three mains and each was superb. Easily out performs many Good Food Guide places with hats. Absolutely worth going to whilst in Ulladulla.
Can't recommend high enough. We'll definitely be back.
We enjoyed our dinner at Tallwood, the food was interesting and delicious. There was not a lot of choice but what available was good. It's a shame though that whilst you have to put your credit cards in for a booking, the booking will only be held for 5 minutes. If you will be charged for a "No Show" surely 20 minutes late would be acceptable.
But enjoyable all the less. Our waiter was attentive and gave good recommendations regarding the meals.
Food was as usual exceptional. The entre was most unusual, the main delicious, the beetroot salad was a great combination, (the kale dish was not a favourite but that was a very personal dislike), the dessert was to die for!
Food was amazing. Staff very friendly. Service efficient.
