Intriguing menu featuring top quality local produce, well presented and super tasty making for a great dining experience!
Great food and service. The flavours and combinations of each dish was amazing. We tried the fish, pasta and meat for main course. Good wine list.
Exceptional food atmosphere and the best and friendliest staff on the south coast
Delicious meal but the Mushroom starter was out of this world.
Overall Tallwood restaurant was pretty good. However we were put into the later seating and the meal took a long time to arrive. The food when it did arrive was excellent!
Checked the reviews and menu on their website good reviews and the menu looked to my taste so my wife and I booked and went to the restaurant.
When we got there we checked the menu, turned out the menu wasn’t the same as on the website the menu hadn’t been updated on their site.
We couldn’t find anything on the menu that suited us so we decided on some tapas dishes found them average and over priced.
Wait staff great.
If the current menu was on their website we would not gone to that restaurant
We absolutely love Tallwood.
And street food is always fun.
Live music. Amazing food. Delicious wine.
Happy customer. We’ll be back.
The food is really inventive and so delicious! Friendly staff and great vibes in one of my favourite coastal towns!
Amazing food and fantastic service! Always a great choice for a special dining experience! Delicious 👌🏼
We run holiday accommodation near Milton, and we used to love Tallwoods, and recommend it to our guests. Not any more. Our meal was marred by very poor service, which included waiting 15 minutes for our first drinks to arrive, a waitress who could not explain the menu, and and then - to top it all off - having a glass of champagne knocked into the laps of our guests. Not entirely her fault, as the table we were seated at was very small and quite cramped - even though it was apparently intended for 6 guests and we had booked for only 5. The waitress used all our table napkins to mop up the resulting mess. We then had to ask for more napkins, as no replacements were forthcoming. While the food was generally good, one serving of Wagyu beef was clearly not only NOT Wagyu beef, but was quite inedible, and could not even be cut with the cutlery provided. We asked that the chef be advised, but the staff appeared to be indifferent to our complaints. We complained to both the waitress who served us and the the maitre'd when we left about the quality of the beef, but to no avail. There was no apology or any recompense offered. Overall it was an embarrassing evening, as we had specifically recommended Tallwoods to our guests on the basis of previous experiences.
We will not be going back to Tallwoods, and we no will longer be recommending it to our guests.
The chef's menu on the Monday night we went to Tallwood was outstanding , food was excellent and the service great . I will be returning and will be recommending Tallwood to everyone .
Enjoyed very unusual taste combinations. Excellent mussel nibbles to start. Prawn skewer was a tad hot (a touch of chilli?) for me, the kanga skewer reportedly a tad tough. However the barramundi and salad leaves was great as was the strawberry dessert. The decor is in between artistic and industrial.
Tallwood eatery is a local treasure. We shared three mains and each was superb. Easily out performs many Good Food Guide places with hats. Absolutely worth going to whilst in Ulladulla.
Can't recommend high enough. We'll definitely be back.
We enjoyed our dinner at Tallwood, the food was interesting and delicious. There was not a lot of choice but what available was good. It's a shame though that whilst you have to put your credit cards in for a booking, the booking will only be held for 5 minutes. If you will be charged for a "No Show" surely 20 minutes late would be acceptable.
But enjoyable all the less. Our waiter was attentive and gave good recommendations regarding the meals.
Food was as usual exceptional. The entre was most unusual, the main delicious, the beetroot salad was a great combination, (the kale dish was not a favourite but that was a very personal dislike), the dessert was to die for!
Food was amazing. Staff very friendly. Service efficient.
Very overpriced but lovely food and wine
Staff lovely and enjoyed the night just can’t afford it
Excellent food and the staff were exceptionally accomadating.
Service was disappointing. food was OK and below our expectations based on prior experiences, as a former regular customer.
Lovely night with exciting
Vegetarian food Andy the best kids pasta!
Disappointing experience overall. Ordering share plates for 4 on the table size we had was a difficulty. But the biggest issue for me was the exorbitant wine prices both per glass and especially per bottle. We like a wine with our meal and I’m not a tightarse, but your prices will stop me coming back, and we’re locals!
The food and service was excellent. Definitely recommend this restaurant. We will return.
Great local eatery with very friendly service
What an experience , the menu choices were wonderful, well explained and most interesting combinations . After eating out most nights for two weeks, the light flavors and tastes were most enjoyable. The wine selection was good. The waiter was enthusiastic, knowledgeable and interested.
We go to TallWood every time we are in Mollymook on a Monday night as we love Chef’s Choice.
How could you beat a three course meal with a glass of wine for $55? It is always delicious and I LOVE not knowing what is for dinner. They ring to check on dietary requirements beforehand, then just bring out your meal!
Book - it is always booked out on Monday.
Tallwood’s consistently fresh and perfectly melded ingredients, cosy atmosphere & excellent service make this our favourite local restaurant by far.
Food was brilliant. Tasty, inventive and full of flavour. Unfortunately we were seated by ourselves, in a corner, out the front, with a view of the strip shopping centre across the road. We were largely forgotten and felt uncomfortable as everyone walked by us to get to the front door. We had booked online for an inside table, but were rung on the day and asked if we’d mind sitting on an outside table, which I agreed to. However, I didn’t expect to be seated in the ‘ naughty corner’, 5 metres from the next nearest9 table.
We had a delicious meal - the lamb was tender and we loved the vegetables. The fish entree was so tasty too.
Tallwood is outstanding in every respect. The food is inspirational & delicious, the wine list is really well thought out and the staff are both professional & friendly. We had booked one night of a 2 night stay in Mollymook & promptly rebooked for the Monday night ‘Trust the Chef’ dinner & were so glad we did, as it was just as good as the night before. Don’t miss this place, in fact make it a ‘destination’ to go to!!
Lovely dinner with great flavours and very helpful and attentive staff.
We came here for my husband’s birthday. We ordered the taro chips, prawn skewers, mushroom main and the pork belly. The prawns were a bit burnt but still tasty, the pork was the standout for us - yum yum. The staff were also amazing, just so welcoming and accommodating but not too in your face. We enjoyed the experience.
We love the Street Food Sundays. Such a lovely and relaxed vibe. We feel like we're on holiday when we dine there.
First visit and can’t wait to come back again. All four of us totally enjoyed the whole dining experience ❣️
One of the best places in the Mollymook / Ulladulla / Milton area to eat. Creative dishes and a reasonable wine list. They also do cocktails. The Oyster and Raw fish dishes stood out as well as the beef cheek. Malbec from Uco Valley went well with the beef!
We went on a Monday for a set menu Chefs selection.
We thoroughly enjoyed the food, it certainly surpassed our expectations. The service was good and as it was a special night out for my 60th birthday it didn't disappoint.
You came highly recommended by my daughter.
Wonderful flavors and interesting menu.
Surprised how good our meal was!!!
We’ve been coming here for years and the food and service are always terrific. It doesn’t matter whether it’s brunch or dinner, we always look forward to our next meal at Tallwood.
Tallwood is my local. I eat there about monthly, and it has never disappointed. Excellent creative menu with good use of fresh local ingredients and seafood. Professional and knowledgeable staff. Good value any time, but especially on Monday night’s ‘chef’s night, with a fixed menu.
Always busy, especially with locals out of holiday seasons, so best to book.
Excellent and innovative food with exceptional service. No dish disappointed us and we are very lucky to have a restaurant of this caliber in our area.
I have been to Tallwood twice - both times on Monday night when the chef cooks a meal and there is no a la carte. At $55 a head for three courses with a glass of wine it is fantastic value. They phone in the afternoon to check on dietary requirements and cope with most limitations.
I LOVE not knowing what we will get. The entree on Monday was spectacular - an aubergine canneloni with ricotta, a creamy tomato based bed, and balsamic vinegar - just a blast of marvelous flavour. I am going to try to copy that. All entrees and mains have been great. If I did not give a five star response it was because I think their desserts are not the chef's favourite work.
