With seating for up to 180 people, diners have the option of sitting inside or outside on a shaded deck. Two private rooms are perfect for parties, meetings or special occasions (approximate capacity of 10 and 20 each or there is a sliding door that can be opened to create a room of approx. 32.)
My husband and I tried this place after completing a 3 day camping tour of the red center. His duck breast was a really nice dish my rib eye was just okay at best. Service was friendly not very fast or helpful with recommendations
Tali is nice restaurant in Alice Springs and the food was of very good quality and quantity. The service was a little slow at first then picked up to rate as fair. Price was on par with the quality. Overall a good night.
The Rack of Lamb was fabulous. Better than I could have possibly imagined.
I have to say the Rib Eye Fillet I had was a bit tough and over cooked. I asked for medium it was well done. Also the potatoes we were not cooked through and some were still hard.
I have eaten here a few times on trips to Alice Springs (although not for 12 months) and always found the food to be exceptional.
We changed our seating to inside which wasn't an issue, immediately we were seated we had the menus and water brought to the table.
All of us had entrees and mains - the scallops definitely need something to zing up the sauce/juice - very bland and I'm not sure whether they were actual scallops or just ends off some other seafood - no little orange bits.
2 out of the 3 mains were astounding - massive serves and beautifully cooked, the 3rd was simply a piece of salmon and nothing much else, and very salty.
Service was good all evening.
I am fond of Tali, have never had a bad meal there so often take friends and will continue to do so
Way to noisy - food was great and service was lovely.
Very long line to get in and we had made a booking but they had overbooked. Luckily they found us a table but it was 5 people sitting at a table for 4. Took forever to get our coffees and the food was cold. Good selection of food and coffee was great when we finally got it. The staff were working very hard but they just need more staff especially if they are going to overbook
Not sure what is happening to Lasseters in general, as it was overall a pretty poor experience (check in/cleanliness of accommodation/room service). The night we ate at Tali it was very quiet. Servers had a hard time picking up on cues, waited ages for someone to even take our initial drink order......ended up ordering drinks with main meal. Food took longer than expected considering how quiet the restaurant was. Served ourselves water and had to get our own spoons for the soup. There were plenty of staff, just not really watchful. I ordered my usual Butter Chicken (my usual favourite on the menu), but the recipe had changed and not as good as what it used to be. Dessert $16 advertised as roasted pineapple. Ended up with 3 thin sugary pineapple rounds from out of a tin (obviously from a tin, wasn't fresh) with a ball of icey vanilla ice cream and a couple of biscuit crumbs. Very disappointed :(
Myself and my partner went to Tali for our anniversary. Initially, all went well. Order entrees and mains. Entrees came out within half an hour of us seating at the table. Then, mains. An hour went by, and 2 apologises from out server about our meals not arriving. On the third occasion she came out and asked if we had received them yet - we had not. They had forgotten our order. Another half an hour, and they delivered one main that was correct, and one that was completely incorrect. This was returned. Meaning my partner had to eat without me, despite it being an anniversary dinner. Another 15 minutes dragged on, and I receive the worst, dry piece of salmon I’ve ever been presented. I could barely eat it.
The server had offered us a complimentary beverage for our troubles. When we spoke with the gentleman at the register, he shrugged it all off, and then offered a 10% discount. We already get this, because we are members. He then stated there was nothing he could do. Poor form.
2 and a half hours for 2 courses of food is ridiculous.
Given we’re locals, you’d expect they’d want to keep our business. I’ll be telling everyone I know to avoid Tali restaurant.
We had dinner before in Tali and the food was great and all thats why we came back to try their lunch menu but it wasn't as great as we thought it would be. I ordered wagyu beef burger it's dry and crumbly. We recommend to eat here for their dinner menu.
3 meals ordered
Lamb was excellent as was prawns
All meals nice
Only issue is that they all arrived one after another so first person finished by time last meal came
Great food great service couldn't ask for better staff always asking if need another drink or if food was great anything they can assist with. Only down side was price for oysters little high and the cushions bit annoying but overall I'd be back again and even pay for the oysters again very nice
Ordered arguably the most expensive item (wagyu) and it was bone cold, and cut up for me like I’m a 3 year old child!
Beef bourguignon was quite fatty and the sauce was pretty tasteless.... for the price it was disappointing
The service was excellent. The food was over priced for the quality and amount. My wife's steak was poor quality and not tasty. I had the red snapper and it was very good but not worth the price.
They had a new and apparently better menu, but I was disappointed. The dish tasted very nice but the idea of an entree sized main dish is not one I wish to repeat. Yes I did purchase additional vegetables. I live in Alice springs but will avoid Tali for my next evening meal out.
My Chicken needed to cook a little longer as it was still pinkish and same with the pork belly
Had a great meal but service was quite slow as they had computer problems will go back and try again !
All were great except for our Tom yum soup - tastes different and funny.
All great but probably can add soup dishes or noodle dishes perfect for this cold weather.
The buffet breakfast was really nice. Great selection of food. It was extremely busy being mother day though. The egg man was a little swamped.
We did not receive coffees for over an hour. I had to beg for a coffee to be made and waiting at the machine till they did. I feel someone else enjoyed our coffees.
It was freezing outside even with the heaters on but it allowed our kids to play on the lawn and garden.
Had it not been for the lengthy coffee delay it would have been a near perfect experience
Booked a table for 6
Got to restaurant and was offered a table at the very front , when we asked if we could sit further from the kitchen ( as it is quite loud ) was told there was no room ( even though we were the only ones in the restaurant). Waitress was not going to indulge us or try and help at all . We had to firmly insist . Finally got a table to one end away from kitchen and when we sat down there was food everywhere on the ground around the table , it was quite disgusting. No offer was made to clean it up . And it was still there when we left . Waitress didn’t even offer to take a drink order or offer us any water .
We ordered drinks and food which was the only good thing to happen on that day (we had to ask if we could order). Waitress ignored us for drinks again .
Overall the staff are very rude , have a low knowledge of English and quite frankly for a high end restaurant shouldn’t be working there .
Will not be returning in any hurry .
Lovely meal our waitress was great we were blown away with her when she took our order for everyone on our table without writing it down she repeated it and our meals came out perfect.
We had a lovely lunch at Tali to celebrate our 40th Wedding anniversary. All of my courses were perfect and the rib eye steak I had was probably the best I can remember eating. Absolutely stunning. My wife pork belly main was enjoyable but the crunch of the crackling wasn’t quite there. Great ambience and a very pleasant afternoon.
Service and food we’re very good. As was the coffee
A number of our party find the noise from the kitchen fan spoils their dining experience. Staff were exceptionally accommodating, seated us in the private room and that was lovely. Thank you Tali.
In house dining at Crown Plaza hotel. Food was pretty good but service was friendly although somewhat chaotic with a number of new, enthusiastic and friendly but totally untrained staff. I’m sure it’ll get better once they learn the ropes. Decent value and good quality.
The Valentines Day menu looked amazing and enticed is to get a babysitter and head out for dinner. We both had the scallops for entree and they were both over cooked and the dish lacked a bit of flavor in general. For mains we both had the lobster tail and barramundi. The lobster was over cooked in this dish which was disappointing after the scallops but the barramundi was cooked perfectly and the flavours in this dish were excellent. We had a brownie and Mille feuille for dessert and liked them both although would have preferred for the brownie to be a little softer, it was hard. The service was top notch, could not fault it. We will definitely be back.
We were a big group of 14 people and came for the breakfast buffet. We were seated in a private room, which was great. The food and customer service was excellent.
Great experience. Waiters were excellent, and menu was interesting with lots of options. Serving sizes were generous which is unusual for a fine dining experience, so even though the dishes are on the expensive side we felt like it was still good value. Wine list is good. Try the Japanese scallops for entree and the Pan-Seared Barramundi for a main.
There were only about 5 tables on the Friday night we went. Our table of 8 were seated right near the kitchen
The exhaust fans were very loud we had trouble hearing conversations. The service was not attentive to our drinks needs. Considering they were not busy. The entree was really nice. My main was disappointing. The gnocchi was not nice. A bizarre mixture of flavours I could not eat more than half. I much prefer thr gnocci from Goat and bucket. The steaks were not consistent. The medium looked rare and the med/rare looked overcooked. The staff serving the mains actually had no idea which steak was which.
Would be reluctant to go back.
This was my first time dining at Tali. The atmosphere was very relaxed and the service second to none. It has these lovely light fixture that throws lovely warm light throughout the restaurant and adds to the ambiance. The food was amazing and such a variety with the menu. I will definitely be going back again.
I am frequently visit this restaurant almost every week. This time I am very disappointed regarding your waitress service. I asked her to give me a beer but she didn’t deliver. After half an hour I asked someone than got my beer also my friend ordered one cocktail and it’s arrived around 20 minutes after.
We found Tali to be an enjoyable experience. Staff were all very friendly and the meals tasty.
We would certainly return and try some of the other offerings on the menu.
We had a nice dinner experience for our anniversary. The staff were friendly and professional. They didn't have a cold bottle of the champagne we first picked. The entree was my only disappointment. I ordered the baked camembert...it was a whole piece of cheap cheese warmed up w a few crackers. I would have preffered a smaller piece of quality camembert. With maybe some fruit or quince paste to break it up. Entree was overpriced. The mains were delicious. I had the scotch fillet. Cooked medium and lovely sauces. Would go back again and recommend to friends.
We had booked at Tali for a special occasion following a number of good reviews we had received. Unfortunately, we were underwhelmed. Meals are expensive which we were prepared for however the standard delivered was far below that we had expected. I had asked for a table outside for added ambience however the number of people traipsing through the outdoor area, I'm not exactly sure where to or from, made it felt more like a cafe than a high-end restaurant (for Alice Springs). On a positive note, the staff were very friendly and polite.
Great meal, great service. A very good place for a special occasion.
Food very tasty, good selection on menu. Plenty of space between tables, noise level a little bit of noise from kitchen but great service from our waiter.
Father's Day was busy at Tali however the wait staff appeared to have things under control and the food was fresh and regularly replenished.
Departmental dinner - food was great, I had the 2 courses for $55 option - servings way too big but brilliant food, good service from all the staff, unobtrusive when filling water glasses etc. Has been a long time since I've been there, I think value for money was better this time, previously the prices were too high for what you got, now the balance is there - well done
