The origins of South Bank’s newest Asian dining experience are steeped rich in history, honouring traditions in Chinese and South East Asian cuisines. Our restaurant is proudly named after the owner’s ancestral great, great grandmother who was, as the title refers to, Tai Tai.

Our location in the heart of South Bank makes Tai Tai one of Brisbane’s most popular restaurants to dine at before a film, show at QPAC or conference at Brisbane Convention & Exhibition Centre. We welcome and encourage walk-ins, however limited number of tables are available to book in advance.

Loved this restaurant the only thing was we were after dessert but that kitchen had closed! Maybe just tell people when there is last calls for orders. Otherwise a nice restaurant and will be back for dessert one day …

Chicken was great the service was excellent …. The garlic prawns were not nice… pork was ok. Rice dishes are quite big… I would go back but just be safe and order the chicken

Tai tai was amazing! They had an order of assorted dim sum, so you could share and still get to taste everything. The waitstaff were very nice and the food was served quickly. I would definitely eat here again.

The menu is limited for an Asian restaurant, but this means the food is good. The food is authentically Asian, which is a hard to find. Good cocktails with an interesting twist. The staff were helpful even though they were run off their feet.

Great food, super delicious and great portion sizes. We had the “feed me” set menu and it was excellent. . The service however was not great. The manager was the only one who seemed to have a clue about what was going on. All the other staff didn’t even know there was the “feed me” set menu and said they needed to speak to their manager, were very slow to take orders, kept forgetting to bring table water even after asking multiple times and generally seemed “lost”. We had booked the “feed me” option through the app so assumed it was already known we were having this. We waited about 15min before anyone even took our drinks order. The manager however was very good.

We had a fabulous meal with our niece prior to seeing a show. I would have given 5 stars for all fields if a drink I ordered arrived sooner, but I highly recommend this venue for a lovely dinner.

Char Kueh Teow was very good - we added extra chilli. The pork belly bao buns were let down by the underdone pork belly - the fat layer was underdone. Buns were hot and fresh. Wine selection was good and we were accommodated with our request for service to be completed to attend 7.30pm theatre booking.

The food was delicious (again). The restaurant was short-staffed but the wait staff just powered through. While clearly run off their feet, our food was hot and our drinks were cold, as the staff darted here, there and everywhere, to cover the gaps.

Having dined here previously for my 21st wedding anniversary we took friends as they wanted to go out for dinner so we said “we know a place” whole meal was delicious like before but the dessert chilled mango pudding light & refreshing yummo We all happily rolled out the restaurant well fed & happy Thanks you all at Tai Tai
