The origins of South Bank’s newest Asian dining experience are steeped rich in history, honouring traditions in Chinese and South East Asian cuisines. Our restaurant is proudly named after the owner’s ancestral great, great grandmother who was, as the title refers to, Tai Tai.

Our location in the heart of South Bank makes Tai Tai one of Brisbane’s most popular restaurants to dine at before a film, show at QPAC or conference at Brisbane Convention & Exhibition Centre. We welcome and encourage walk-ins, however limited number of tables are available to book in advance.

    Have been here twice before. This was an anniversary meal. We went at lunch time. Disappointed that they had run out of one of the dishes. The Peking duck was disappointing. 5 pancakes for 2 of us , 5 slices of cucumber and some carrot. The previous 2 visits the food has been amazing, sadly it wasn't yesterday.

    Alfresco dining virtually on street but not much street noise. Weekday may be noisier. I'm not familiar with the area. Food & service were excellent. Although we only had the steamed dumplings & ginger prawn & scallop stir fry, both were very tasty. Other food around us looked great. Would definitely try again.

    Started off very well, our dumplings were very nice, then we were left sitting over half an hour before anyone showed up to apologize that our mains were given to someone else, we waited quite a while after this, for our meals we were given our fried rice we ended up starting to eat this as we were hungry and didn’t want it to go cold, eventually we received our main dishes steamed garlic prawns which I must say were very disappointing they were as tough and chewy as anything so not enjoyable at all, the chicken was lovely and soft but the dipping sauce was to hot in heat for me and that’s all you could taste so I chose not to dip the chicken as I wanted to taste the chicken and not have my mouth on fire. We were not offered anything complementary or even a discount for the inconvenience of our meals being given to the wrong table which I truly believe was given to the couple on table 2 who walked in 20 minutes after we did So we have decided when we go to QPAC again for a show we will be eating somewhere else

    Amazing!! Great food, atmosphere was wonderful even in a cold the heaters kept us toasty this indoor/ outdoor dining was exactly what you need for a group or a date. 100% recommend

    We had dinner at Tai Tai before going to QOAC to see 9 to 5. It was an easy walk to the theatre. The service was very attentive, the food was exceptional and the ambiance beautiful. Highly recommend for any occasion.

    We got the banquet, which is a curated selection of dishes by the chef on the night. Everything was so fresh and tasty at an excellent price. Absolutely perfect! We will be dining here again.

    We arrived at 5pm, were seated and had an entree by 5,15. Waited till 5,50pm but no main course arrived. Needed to leave for theatre, advised owner who was not at all phased, no apology. Paid for what we had and left.

    Ordered beers and both dim sum baskets to share between two people. The food was phenomenal. The flavour and the texture was magnificent. The staff were attentive and had great intuition for when we needed help. We were off to a show at QPAC and allowed 1.5hours which was perfect. Food ordered through QR code but option to order in person was there. There were heaters through the centre and the people watching is excellent.

    I have eaten here before and this time compared to previous it was disappointing. I was a little disappointed with the menu. The worst is that and it being a friday was there are groups drinking at the Bar which is beside some of the tables.
