The origins of South Bank’s newest Asian dining experience are steeped rich in history, honouring traditions in Chinese and South East Asian cuisines. Our restaurant is proudly named after the owner’s ancestral great, great grandmother who was, as the title refers to, Tai Tai.

Our location in the heart of South Bank makes Tai Tai one of Brisbane’s most popular restaurants to dine at before a film, show at QPAC or conference at Brisbane Convention & Exhibition Centre. We welcome and encourage walk-ins, however limited number of tables are available to book in advance.

My Wife and I took her Son and partner out for a birthday lunch. It was our first visit to Tai Tai. The food was wonderful and the service was great. I would highly recommend Tai Tai and we ill be coming back for another scrumptious feed next time we have a show on at QPAC.

Banquet for 4 people was more than enough food and was absolutely delicious. Service was great, happy and friendly staff.

Great location after show at QPAC. Fresh, tasty food, friendly service, good size portions. Meals were ready quickly, enough time between entree & mains. Would definitely recommend.

Very disappointed at my recent visit. Asked for water - the waiter forgot - we had to ask a second time (it wasn't overly busy). I ordered the Calamari and it was dry and some pieces were chewy. My daughters pork was very fatty. We didn't finish either of our meals. I have been to this restaurant a number of times before and it has always been excellent (food, service etc). I have also had both these dishes before and were always very good. Just going to put this down to a bad day in the kitchen.

Service was ok. Ordered mushroom spring rolls as entree and then chicken “hot pot” and crispy pork. Mentioned to the waitress that we had a 1:00pm theatre deadline. Crispy pork and steamed rice came approx 15 mins later. Sliced pork rashers - over cooked ( looked like they had been deep fried) along with a side sauce. Very bland and over cooked! Then, approx. 15 mins later, spring rolls arrived along with chicken hot pot. Chicken hot pot was beautiful, mushroom spring rolls - ok if you love mushrooms. Nothing else in the spring rolls. We had a bottle of sparkling water (San Palegrino). Bill for 3 came to just under $120. Extremely disappointing.

Celebrated my birthday in Tai Tai. Food was amazing, love the mango dessert that we had after. And the service was quick, we made it on time for the musical we were gonna watch in QPAC.

Waited a very long time for food. Wasn’t full, so maybe just not enough staff. Food is expensive, always has been, but the quality has declined significantly. Disappointing. Not really worth the money anymore.
