Our location in the heart of South Bank makes Tai Tai one of Brisbane’s most popular restaurants to dine at before a film, show at QPAC or conference at Brisbane Convention & Exhibition Centre. We welcome and encourage walk-ins, however limited number of tables are available to book in advance.
The food was excellent but service very hit and miss. 1 entree delivered quickly but we also ordered 3 shared mains and rice. One diner needed a fork, one diner needed a plate and bowl. Rice arrived, then a few minutes later first main. Fork didn't arrive so diner used one provided to serve the food... not a big issue but the diner with no plate or bowl had to wait a substantial period before the second main arrived to remind the staff that a howl was needed. By the time it arrived the first main was cold. 3rd main arrived more than 20 minutes after the first.
Loved the food but it was significantly let down by the delivery of the courses and the wait staff following up on the missing items.
Terrific staff. Great decor. Contemporary Asian cuisine. Eye appealing. Tasty. Returning.
We went NYE and yes it was busy, so you expect there to be some delays and hiccups. The staff were fantastic. Unfortunately there was a problem in the kitchen with them not getting our meal order. We waited about 90mins for our first course and 2 of our main meals were never delivered.
However i have to commend the staff for their response as they were great. It has done nothing to deter us from returning. The food is fantastic, i love the busy street location and the staff are very professional.
Thanks for a great evening and Happy New Year to all the staff x
The menu offered unique combinations of tastes and was suberb. We will definitely return
The menu is good and the wine list covers all options but we felt pressured and rushed to order and leave although it was not full. Our sparkling water was topped up with still water and no one asked if we wanted more drinks. It felt like they wanted us to leave when we finished what we had. Food was good but mains brought out and left sitting open while we waited for rice. We were not offered to see menu again for dessert. With so many excellent dining options available in the area we will not go back.
The service and food were amazing. Highly recommend.
Worst experience I have ever had. Food was above average. Suggest to try other restaurants
My Partner and I found Tai Tai a Remarkable Restaurant, with Outstanding Food and Service...
Give it a Try and You won't Regret it..😊😊
Enjoyed dinner there again when we are in Brisbane. The char kway teow is delicious!
Visited 3 times and so far good experiences had-food quality /overall... the kind of place we would go back to any time as we find the menu safe for kids too and our kids love all dishes tried so far.
Excellent service matched by fabulous food! Highly recommend. Great spot for dinner before a show at QPAC!
Amazing food and fantastic service. Our first visit, it won’t be our last! Thank you.
Been meaning to go here for a while the smells and seeing some of the food delivered to the tables it looked excellent. Finally made it and yes it was excellent, food so tasty, service great, location pretty cool and good value for money. Thoroughly recommend Tai Tai and we will be back
Great for dinner before a show. A bit pricey for what it is but it's the location I guess. Service was good. Bit disappointed Deep Fried Ice Cream was unavailable at the time. Overall would go back.
Great menu and wine list. Waiters were efficient and lots of fun.
Very good food and ambience, I was looked after very well. Access was great too, I am disabled therefore that is important to me.
good food, presentation could be better, for thurs nt lacking table staff for service, food requested to be delivered all together but came piece meal prob due to lack staff, food makes up for it tad expensive.
Absolutely delicious and fresh dishes. Easily the best squid we’ve ever eaten and delicious dumplings! Best meal we had in Brisbane.
The Sichuan Chicken was nice enough but had peanuts (my partner is allergic) yet the menu didn't indicate that it'd contain peanuts. Pretty poor at best and dangerous at worst! Also didn't actually taste any Sichuan pepper in there, and isn't that the point? Shredded beef was more sweet than 'piquant' - it was like what beef dessert. Number 8 cocktail was delicious, as were the pot stickers. Overall a bit 'meh', even if the staff were lovely.
Good Asian food is hard to find - Tai Tai surpassed many. Service was brilliant.
Food was well presented, delicious and fresh. Staff were attentive and considerate that we had a deadline to get to the theatre. Will be back.
We enjoyed our pre theatre dinner, the food and service were excellent.
food was fantastic, we all enjoyed the feed me options, such a great idea. Lots of drinks choices. Plenty of room at our table.
Pork Dumplings were raw on the inside. Received an apology but not ok in the first place.
Service is good. A little too noisy on a busy road
Very cozy and staffs are friendly. Don’t have to wait too long for the food.
We celebrated a 50th Birthday and had an enjoyable time.
First time to Tai Tai after being on our list for some time.
We went for my partners birthday , who is from Taiwan.
Our waiter was also the manager looked after us perfectly.
Other staff were efficient and friendly.
We lookd forward to our next visit !!
Service slow - took forever to order.
Great food and timely as well which was wonderful as had a show to go to afterwards.
We have been to Tai Tai previously and had a better experience.
This time we had two fried duck serves, thinking Peking Duck equivalent. It was overcooked to dryness, tough and greasy. Not good. The other dishes we had were good.
Service was average with little charm.
Hi Rennie, thanks for taking the time to provide us with your feedback. We pride ourselves on the quality of our food and customer service, so this feedback is extremely important to us. We are disappointed that your experience with us did not meet expectations. We will pass on your feedback to our team to ensure this doesn’t happen again. Sincerely, Tai Tai
I came here thinking it would be nice to try a different venue for my birthday & it didn't hold up to expectations. It was totally under staffed & some of the staff didn't know what they were doing. You had to ask to get a drink, then to order food, it came out all separately & mixed up with another tables order. Sorry but I wouldn't recommend your restaurant to anyone.
We had the $45pp feed me option & were pleased with the food selection that the manager had organised for us. The service were ok but nothing outstanding. Since this was our first time at the restaurant, I had to ask different staff numerous times what we were waiting for & only to be told that the manager was putting up the menu for us. Overall we enjoyed our evening.
Good food. The restaurant was very busy so the time it took for the waiter to take our order was slow. However once our order was taken the kitchen delivered in a timely manner.
Went here for a pre theatre dinner, great food and service
My second meal at Tai Tai. Both have been very enjoyable. On this occasion we had a pre-theatre meal (free-range Bang Bang chicken, tofu and mushrooms stirfry and xo beans and peas stir fry, with steamed rice, and a nice bottle of red wine from Orange. The food was delicious and generous in quantity and the service was pleasant, ensuring we were fed, without rushing, in time to get to QPAC. We will be back.
Food was great and the service was very friendly and efficient, a great experience.
Still a long wait to take an order but better than last time but staff very pleasant.
Amazing and friendly customer service and food to match! Highly recommend to visit!
Very good service & nice food reasonably priced!
Enjoyed our dinner, the food was excellent, waiter attentive
