Excellent Spanish food and great service!! We are regular customers and are eager to come back.
Having lived in Spain for many years Taberna is the closest thing to returning “home.”
La Taberna never disappoints. This is a great place for any special occasion.
Awesome place! Food was fantastic and service...no words to described it!!
Nice place for drinks and tapas
One of my favorite restaurants in the area. Great service, food and environment. Highly recommended.
First visit to Taberna del Alabardero. At first the service was slow and a bit unattentive, but it was better by end of the meal.
The garlic shrimp was very good - a bit too oily but tasted good.
The bronzino was delicious. Got the salt covered one. The server deboned/skinned it right at table. Perfectly cooked.
The brusselsprout side dish was very good too.
As dessert - the wine cheese board was plenty. Just wished server knew a bit more about the wine, but good service overall.
Food was poorly prepared, rice was mushy especially for paella which should be fluffy and full of flavor there was no flavor at all!! I assumed it was an off-day
The food was amazing, the service was OUTSTANDING, Eden was great explaing is every plate, definitely we will come back !!!!
Patatas Bravas and croquettes dishes were jokes. Supremely overpriced fast food with an ambiance, and great location wasted on foreigners who don’t comprehend America’s standard of service. I enjoy dining, experiencing, and patronizing all cultures but this was a third world experience. The server was rude from the start and the manager should be driving a truck, not running a restaurant. Would definitely NOT recommend to ANYONE.
The three of us were seated outside on the covered patio (as requested). As always, the meal was delicious - we had the lunch 3-course special. Service is impeccable.
Great restaurant with outstanding food. Would recommend for any occasion or no occasion.
Good meal.. nice restaurant .. authentic Spanish food .. great service.
Excellent menu choices of high quality Spanish food. Beautiful interior and impeccable service.
I really enjoyed the dinner and service. Food was good and nice decoration.
Wonderful food, service and friendliness from the staff. Restaurant is beautifully decorated for the Christmas season and makes it very cozy. Love this place.
súper beautiful place, paella/ the dessert was so good too. Also great service
Good food & attentive service but way too much salt used in certain dishes.
Service is excellent. Tapas are amazing and so good it is easy to order too many. The appetizer, grilled octopus is the best around. Know it is not the one on tapas menu. Socially distanced and caring environment. Highly recommend.
The food and the service was fantastic, very friendly staff. Although there was a small hiccup, the team definitely did a fantastic job sorting it out!
Extraordinary service and food. Wish we lived in D.C. so we could visit this restaurant often. Looking forward to when I can enjoy another meal here again.
Excellent Spanish food !! 5⭐️
Authentic Spanish food superly cooked. I was impressed by their paella.
You would expect the best paella in a Spanish restaurant. Not in this restaurant . Seafood paella with a raw lobster and raw shrimps. Don't even let me talk about the rice....so sad.. And then the octopus....cold and full of paprika..wasn't tender, wasn't tasty. The anchovies very briny ....not tasty either.
I am sure that not spanish cook touched this food. He would be so disappointed.
The service ,though, wonderful!
La Taberna never disappoints. It is worth every penny. Food, service, ambiance...everything is of superb quality. For me, the best restaurant in the DC area. A special mention for Victor whose service and attentiveness was outstanding.
Service was attentive without being overbearing. Food is very good, authentic Spanish.
Authentic Spanish cuisine in an atmospheric setting. Try the roast suckling pig on weekends; it's a treat! Excellent and attentive service.
We love Taberna. We love the setting, the service, and the food. And we usually get paella, but while it makes a fun evening, it's not really what it should be. The sofrito is bland and needs a re-think. There is no sense of smoked paprika which should be in a good paella. There is no color from saffron -- it only takes a tiny bit. And, most disappointedly, there is no socarrat, the crunchy rice from the bottom of the pan. This paella is just a tasty rice dish with either chicken or seafood, and it is served elegantly by a great staff. But as paella, it is just wanting. Kick it up a notch, Taberna!
Food was amazing...so authentic and just delicious. The service was outstanding...top notch. We sat outside and it was beautiful...heat lamps kept us comfortable.
The service was outstanding: friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable. The wine by the glass was excellent, especially for the price. The tempranillo recommended by the server was especially fine. The garlic and almond soup was different and extremely good: plenty of flavor but subtle, not overly spicy. The milhojas dessert was also excellent, very creamy and not overly sweet. Only the pulpo alla Gallega was disappointing, in terms of both consistency and flavor. I wish I had tried the other octopus dish. But I will certainly visit again if the opportunity presents itself.
The best restaurant in DC, is like being in Spain for a couple of hours
Amazing food. 1st/2nd best Spanish restaurant I’ve had outside of Spain.
The food and service is very good, very pricey. Jaleo is so much better.
Food was tasty and delicious. Service was excellent. Can't wait to dine here again.
Food and drink were excellent. Service was great. We especially loved the Pan Tumaca with Iberian ham and the garlic shrimp. Desert was great as well.
Thank you!
food is really good, service is excellent and the place is really nice
Salmon tartare was fabulous. Went there for anniversary celebration and the staff definitely made it special.
Unfortunately, my fried Manchego with raspberries was pretty cold, the cheese tasteless and felt almost like rubber :) .
But therefore, my Paella de verduras was fantastic, as well as my Flan caramel!
Excellent service and foods are delicious! Very nice ambiance
