Wonderful food, lovely service and a beautiful atmosphere. Enjoyed the live music on Saturdays -- a real treat! Also appreciated that the staff read my note on our Open Table reservation that we were celebrating a birthday! They made our dinner special! Definitely would recommend!!
Went there for a late Valentine’s Day, and the food was spectacular. Had amazing octopus, squid, and croquettes. The service was spectacular, the drinks were delicious, and the food was amazing. Definitely coming back for another date!
The most romantic restaurant in Washington DC. Wonderful food and service. Paella with lobster and shrimp is to die for.
the Taberna has become our Valentine's Day tradition. The service from the time we entered to our departure - and everything in between -- was friendly and exact. Our in paella was superb, as was our appetizers. We plan to return during the year and, of course, next Valentine's Day!
Unhelpful wait staff. Food on the bland side.
My wife and I had a great Valentine's dinner at Taberna del Alabardero. The service was excellent and the food was delicious. For appetizers we shared garlic shrimp and grilled sausage. For our entree we ordered Oxtail Paella which was very tender and different from any Paella we had in the past.
Delicious food. Moderate portions. Delicious drinks. Beautiful decor.
Truly delicious fare and excellent service, especially with respect to the staff's good cheer and attentiveness to my young daughter. My mother's birthday dinner was greatly enjoyed by all as a result. Looking forward to the next time we're there!
Antonio...fantastic waiter! Great restaurant. Never a bad experience.
It was great! Food was excellent and the service was also!!
Perfect as always. The pulpo and the bacalao pil pil were spectacular.
Taberna del Alabardero is a winner for traditional Spanish cuisine in a beautiful dining room. The service is excellent, and the wine list is filled with good-value wines from across the regions of Spain.
Highly recommend planning an evening out here! To start with, the ambiance is classy, but comfortable and the staff are very friendly and attentive. We picked a couple of tapas to start with, the fried eggplant and honey being our favorite pick since it was delicious and something none of us had tried before. For dinner we got the classic Fideua (seafood and vermicelli cooked like paella) which was also very good and plenty of food for the two of us that were splitting it. Near 8 in the evening (Saturday) live music started so we stayed to enjoy that and split some dessert. The torrija with toffee was outstanding, melts in your mouth! Food, wine, service, ambiance were all great! Put this at the top of your places to visit when you're looking for good Spanish food!
Had a wonderful experience............why does this box require 50 characters???? Don't impose that requirement on people that are voluntarily giving of their time to do this survey!!!! You should be happy that I typed some words....
Excelente comida y servicio. Ideal para negocios. Gran ubicación.
The place was great, the food was outstanding, I definitely recommend this restaurant.
We went on the night of the Flamenco show and really enjoyed the music and dancing!! The service was excellent. The food was good but not amazing, considering the high prices. The paella was very heavy and the octopus was a bit tough. The manchego and jamon appetizer was great and the cheesecake was outstanding - light and fluffy and not too sweet.
The restaurant is nice. Loved the ambiance. Great for a family dinner or date night. The service staff was polite. The waiter was a bit too pushy with the alcoholic drinks - asked 4 times. I normally drink alcohol but due to "dry January" my friend and I were not drinking for the month - that was a bit annoying to be asked multiple times. The food was generally good, even though I ordered the fried eggplant and they brought me croquettes instead. Loved the live music and dancing. It was a bit over the top but fun and thoroughly enjoyed. Note - just respect the fact a person does not want to drink and the stars would have been higher.
Excellent food and amazing service- Totally recommend this restaurant !
We went here during restaurant week. Value for the prix fixe menu was great. Sangria was excellent. Appetizers and entrees were also delicious. Dessert was ok. Wait staff was very attentive. Will definitely go back when in the area
Love this place for it's European-style service and great food! They know the proper way to serve guests, they don't rush you out with the bill, the food is always excellent. When I'm here, I feel like I've stepped back into Europe. We have yet to find another restaurant in town that provides the same level of service. Truly a gem on the DC dining scene.
This restaurant has a well deserved reputation for fine dining and it lived up to our expectations. The food was superb from the salads to the soup to the entrees. Service was super professional. And although the restaurant was full, you could easily hold a conversation
All was great but I prefer it on a less busy (non restaurant week) day. Try pimientos rellenos de bacalao!
This is the first Spanish tapas place that took me back to southern Spain. Great flavors in all dishes, including the desserts with great sangria pairing. Service could be better, it's restaurant week so I'm not sure if had anything to do with it. I felt our server was rushing us, I literally had a bite in my hand and one in my plate when it was taken from under my hands.
Súper elegante el restaurante, y la comida deliciosa. Una gran oportunidad para invitar a mis hijos en la semana de los restaurante.
Restaurant week was a great value and nice varied selection which changes from past years. Definitely recommend.
Took forever to get the check. Lunch shouldn’t take 95 minutes.
This is not casual. Real professional waiters, classic Spanish cuisine, bold traditional decor. Good for a date/special occasion.
This is such a nice Spanish restaurant. Has been in DC for years with faithful clients. Food is very good, ambience elegant but relaxed, great friendly service by staff, many who have been there or years. It is a favorite of mine.
Excellent. Great restaurant for any occasion, i would definitely recommend it
Everything was ok. The food was quite good, and the staff was very friendly; but the service was a bit slow.
Great place to have lunch. Food is great and waiters are wonderful.
Restaurant week is a must....
Shrimp dishes were overcooked
Outstanding service always, superbly delicious and creative dishes always, a pleasure to visit every single time.
We went for brunch and stepped back in time to old world Spain. The decor was beautiful with accents of old world Spain. The food was fresh and the sangria was amazing. My glass was never empty! Great service, great time!
Great food, service, and ambiance. Had a very nice birthday celebration
Excellent food. Service a little slow, and so was restaurant. But definitely some of the better Spanish food we’ve had in the US.
The food was delicious and beautifully presented. The staff was friendly and helpful. The portions were too large for us however, which seems to be a DC thing.
Dinner and service were excellent. Had the bronzino and my partner had the lamb shank, both were delicious.
