Sydney Cove Oyster Bar - Circular Quay
For the most delectable and inventive seafood dishes in New South Wales, enjoy a meal at Sydney Cove Oyster Bar for an unforgettable experience. For an ideal start to your meal, relish the brandade fish croquettes with fresh herb mayo and the chili and tamarind-spiced tiger prawns with spring onion and lime juice. Some of Sydney Cove Oyster Bar's larger plates include the grilled Atlantic salmon with smoky eggplant puree, shaved almonds and pomegranate reduction, the shellfish platter laden with Hervey Bay scallops with chili pineapple salsa, oysters, prawns, blue swimmer crab and marinated mussels and the surf and turf combination meal with Tajima wagyu rump steak and scampi in a crme au jus, perfect with a glass of wine.
Be sure to nab a seat on the outdoor patio where, day or night, you can enjoy a beautiful view of the harbor while enjoying your meal.
To be honest what we spent was not worthy with the food we got. The taste of my octopus was a bit of carbon and my boyfriend ordered king prawns without flavour. The view is beautiful, the place is comfortable and the service was good as well but I was expecting delicious food.
Love this place! We always dine here prior to watching a show at Sydney Opera House. The oyster shots are amazing!
It was just very cold, not their fault . They did fire up a heater right next to us and provided blankets to help defray the cold
We had a beautiful night at the Sydney Cove Oyster Restaurant. Staff we very attentive with fast and friendly service. Our food was excellent and well presented. Great location to watch sunset fall over the harbour. We'll be back. Highly recommended.
Best Fish Restaurant we have visited. Very nice view to Habour Bridge. Very nice evening.
Made a last minute reservation for an early dinner on the pier. Staff was very accommodating. Service was very good, and we did not get everything to come out at once. It was spaced out appropriately. Food came out hot and delicious even though we were eating outside. Pricey, but you are paying a little for the view.
Can’t beat the view. Food excellent & service slow to start but turned out very good. Will return again.
Great ambiance. Decent service. Seafood is tasty but not the freshest however we were there more for the outlook to the Sydney Harbour Bridge and waters. We were not expecting shellfish off the boat as well.
The staff went out of their way to make our experience authentic and delightful, the setting speaks for its self, add the magnificent flavors and food and it makes for a memorable dinner. It's not often these days that it all comes together, casual class.
Venue is second to none and service staff are excellent, friendly and knowledgeable.
The food is great and I will definitely be back.
Food was good. My husband go the seafood bowl and it was amazing. Desserts were good. The atmosphere was very nice and our server was very helpful.
Very overpriced for the quality of food and the fact you’re getting rained on
Best view in the harbor! We sampled oysters. They were amazing! I ordered wagyu steak and boyfriend had tiger prawn linguine. Both were fantastic! Highly recommend
Great location with quality food and good service. Recommended for the ambience on a balmy night.
It was the perfect place to end our trip to Sydney. Looking out over the water with excellent seafood was exactly how I wanted to spend our last evening. Despite the fact that it is on Circular Quay with all of the tourist traffic, it did not feel like a tourist trap at all.
Not worth food. Seafood platter they said included cucumber some seafood on the menu but they missed cucumber and so small amount.
Excellent food and perfect location. Last time we went I was disappointed, but this time great!
Excellent. Had to wait a little to be served for food but no big deal there. Excellent service and really good martinis. You must true the oyster shots. 10/10
The northern rivers fresh oysters were tasteless. On previous occasions at the same venue, this has not been the case.on these previous occasions the oysters were quite tasty.
I booked the restaurant for my partners Birthday, I couldn’t fault a thing. We were lucky enough to be seated right next to the water overlooking the harbour and watching the lights of Vivid. The service, food and atmosphere were amazing!
Got to my booking really late and they were so understanding, ordered food and had it on the table in less than 10 minutes!
Food was delicious, stuff were incredibly nice. Will visit again soon!!
Seafood was amazing! View was incredible! Only let down was the steak being too basic. Service was great until the end when no one came by the table to check on us when we needed something. Although this was understandable as they had other customers, they should have kept the service consistent from beginning to end. Things on the menu are a bit pricey but the seafood was definitely worth it. Would still go back there though cause their oysters were amazing!
What a great night. Staff were attentive and we didn't feel hurried at all. The wine selection was outstanding and the food was brilliant. Of course we came for the view and the atmosphere of Sydney Harbour and it's Quay and we were not disappointed. Thanks Oyster Bar.
Best meal our of entire trip! Definitely get the Eton Mess for dessert. That was a wonderful recommendation from our fantastic server.
Anyone experiencing Vivid for the first time should book a table at Sydney Cove Oyster Bar. We arrived at 5.30pm, settled in (with blankets as it was a bit windy), ordered food and wine and watched the harbour city come alive! The service was spectacular - really professional, friendly, accommodating and made it all the more enjoyable. Thanks team!
After a highly enjoyable experience in December we decided to book a table for our recent trip from Qld. We ordered some of our favourite dishes from our last visit and some new ones. On tasting our once loved dishes we found them to be bland, dry and lacking the flavour they had before. When the mains were delivered we were thoroughly disappointed with the lack of flavour. The steak was tough and unseasoned, the vol a vont was cold, lacked flavour and was presented with a soggy piece of puff pastry underneath and one on top. They exchanged our meals for the ones we were delighted with on our last visit but sadly these fell way short of the dishes we had thoroughly enjoyed in December. We were left extremely disappointed in the food and while they reduced the cost somewhat we still left feeling extremely disappointed and as though we could have gotten a much better meal at a much less cost somewhere else. We will not be back.
Purchased a gift voucher for my parents. They were ecstatic with the service, the view and said that it was the best meal that they had ever eaten out!
I have in fact, recommended Oyster Bar to a friend just this morning. The venue itself - and its position on the Harbour is stunning, especially when being fortunate enough to have a waterfront table. The setting is perfect, the food just right for the setting, and the waiters are typically excellent - helpful, warm, professional We have been lucky to also have a cruise ship across the way - and when they up anchor and manoeuvre out of the Harbour just after sunset - it's a glorious spectacle. thank you - we have been there on several occasions, and will be back again next week.
The choice of Sydney Rock Oysters was impressive, with those farmed at Merimbula the tastiest. The wine list was limited but had really interesting wines to make up for its shortness (happy with that). My companions had Barramundi and were very complimentary about the great flavour and preparation. I had beer battered flathead fillets which were okay but lacked flavour.
Great food ver friendly staff even on a busy day like Mother’s Day recommended strongly
Very enjoyable lunch, service was very good and the food was amazing.
Always the best place to eat drink and show off harbour-never fails to impress!
Very fresh seafood, nice ambience and view, very friendly and professional service!
Excellent service, Beautiful food
Which made our visit to the opera house such a lovely day
The location is absolutely marvelous. The food is club type food and the prices are astronomical. The menu sounds great, but it seriously is not. For the 2 of us for lunch it cost $360. On my plate was a lettuce cut into a quarter and dipped in dressing. The steak was well cooked but so bland and dry that I had to ask for tomato sauce. It was not value for money. To get service I had to be very obvious. The tables are so close together that the back of the person on the next table was resting on our table, this certainly stopped any real conversation on our table, however we heard all about their house renovations.
For this type of money I think Aria is better value.
Great food good service and of course a wonderful view
Food was fantastic as were staff matching the beautiful surrounding
Opportunity of a great location yielding a great restaurant wasted by ordinary and bland food and overpriced offerings.
