Oona Tempest was one of the only female sushi apprentices in New York, and as she grew into an accomplished sushi chef, remained a rarity behind the sushi counter. In 2016 at only 23 years of age Tempest was named one of Zagat’s top 30 chefs under 30. Favorite omakase place!!! Oona is the best!!!
Nice casual atmosphere that differs from your traditional omakase place. The chef is very friendly and helps make it a really pleasant experience. They seem very proud to be flying their fish from Japan but unfortunately most of their flavors are masked by overly present yuzu or other sauces. Even for the pieces without particular sauce- I did not find the tastes or flavor particularly remarkable, for the price.
Amazing meal. Oona is an incredible chef and so easy to talk to. Loved the environment, small and intimate but not cramped. Will definitely be back again.
