Oona is a fantastic sushi chef that puts a great amount of work in providing unique and delicious courses. She also does a great job of interacting with those at her seatings. Her staff is on point and the ambiance is also great.

I have never eaten sushi prior to my dining experience at Sushi By Bae. To be introduced to sushi by such an elegant Chef is extraordinarily lucky. Fresh, clean, hospitable, friendly, all the elements for a perfect dinner. It was. I am glad to have had the best for my first.

One of the best omakase sushi values in the city: $110 for 15 perfectly crafted pieces served at the perfect pace. Menu changes based on the season and market availability. Oona Tempest is a wonder and a perfect host - it feels less like a restaurant and more like you're joining her in her apartment for an intimate dinner party. Just brilliant.

Overpriced. If this was $50 like sushi by bou, we have no complaints (although we think sushi by bou is a lot better). The firmness of the rice was uneven, and I think some fish were left sitting on the cutting board too long. Sea urchin was not good at all...had no taste. Although, I guess the taste was not too bad as compared to other random sushi places but we had higher expectations considering the price.
The chef was wearing a watch and hair band on her wrists, and also her sleeves were not tucked up to her elbow which was all very very disturbing while watching her make our sushi. I have never seen sushi chefs having anything up to the elbow. She was also touching her cell at where she cooked. It was nice she was interacting with customers, but her hand stops when she talks, so it was a lot of waiting....

Chef Oona is excellent! She is extremely knowledgeable and personable and made the overall experience that much better. Highly recommend! Every piece was made with extraordinary care, which made each bite that much more delicious!

Nice casual atmosphere that differs from your traditional omakase place. The chef is very friendly and helps make it a really pleasant experience. They seem very proud to be flying their fish from Japan but unfortunately most of their flavors are masked by overly present yuzu or other sauces. Even for the pieces without particular sauce- I did not find the tastes or flavor particularly remarkable, for the price.
