Supernormal - City Ratings and Reviews
I didn't find the food unusual. We had the Szechuan chicken salad, Caviar starter, Chilli Dumplings, Duck Bao, Lobster roll. They were all really average. The best were the chicken salad and caviar we had at the start. But the Duck Bao and Lobster roll was a complete let down. It was recommended by the waitress as the best and popular dishes. But the duck is dry and pretty much tasteless. The Lobster roll was something I can get at a food court, nothing special again. The price is too expensive for what they offered. I won't be going back again.
Visited Supernormal for a Sunday lunch. Love the relaxed, comfortable feel of this place. I would return to try more dishes. Sashimi was fresh, wagyu beef bun served with hot and very juicy. New England lobster roll - dressing is a little bit too much that overpower the lobster. Staffs are friendly and service is great.
The stand out food in melbourne - the peanut butter parfait was so good went back just for it and bought the cookbook so we could make it (or try to!) in London. The staff on both occasions were super and so helpful. Thank you Bridget and Bobby! Go, go, go!
we had a lovely experience, although we ate too much! Food was excellent and so many different flavours. Wine was great and well priced. The staff were friendly and knowledgeable. We were on a time line with a show to get to and everything was perfectly timed. Would like to come back and spend longer enjoying the food.
Supernormal never disappoints. The now famous dishes - lobster roll, and the wonderful fall apart in your mouth lamb, the fresh sides and the creative desserts make this my go to restaurant for business and pleasure.
Eating at the Bar allows private conversation and an interesting view of the kitchen.
This the 2nd time we have been .. And i loved it more.
Its the perfect package, the service is faultless, the food divine and omg you must leave room for desert.
I recommend lots of share plates of the smaller style . You get to taste more "taste sensations"
Will be back many many times 😀😀😀
Supernormal has a great customer service and the ambience which is suited for the young crowd. It's hip and the atmosphere is vibrant. I highly recommend the lobster roll. It's fresh and absolutely delicious. Most seafood dish looked amazing. I didn't quite enjoyed the fried rice cake as to me it was too sweet and difficult to chew. Otherwise the cocktail was refreshing and the overall experience was a positive one.
We were given a gift voucher which prompted us to go to Super normal for lunch.
Overall the food was a creative interpretation of Asian food but I was disappointed in the Dumplings which came swimming in a strongly flavoured sauce spiked with a lot of chilli.
This completely masked the delicate flavour of the prawn and chicken dumplings.
Wine prices are ridiculous which we felt keenly especially as we have just returned from a month in Europe where we had excellent wine for no more than 5 Euro a glass.. yes a full one not the amount poured which was well below the marker on the glass! I'll be sticking to Chinese tea!
