You will notice our dining room walls adorned with Murals of Architecture from the area of Sullivan’s Quay around the 19th century, when Jack Sullivan, whom the area is named after, patrolled the streets selling beer and wine to the local saloonkeepers. More recently this area has become renowned for its excellent cuisine and draws culinary adventurers from all around the world.
In the case of our own Sullivan’s Quay here in beautiful Port Washington, we hope you will come in to unload the worries of the world, while allowing us to provide you with a fine dining experience and the most pleasant service to be found anywhere beyond the Emerald Isle.
The service was very poor we had to wait for drinks. We asked for sweetener for the iced teas. We had to wait for silverware while our food was on the table. This continued right up to dessert I had to wait for a teaspoon. I am really disappointed this time and will wait a while before I go back.
Another lovely meal at Sullivan’s Quay. Delicious shepherds pie and my boyfriend had fish n chips and he said it was great. Service could have been a little better but it was Valentines Day weekend and it was really crowded. Great place but wish the menu was a little bigger. Love the cozy back room.
Always a good vibe with a menu which has something for everyone. Staff amazing!!!!
Two of the three entrees ordered were very good. The third was raw hamburger in a kids meal that had to be sent back multiple times to be cooked. When finally served as reasonably cooked (and the third attempt was still pink, while fortunately not raw) my son did not eat because it tasted very off. We just gave up on the hamburger. The server was reasonably gracious, although not apologetic. Additionally, and beyond disgusting, was the presence of a hair that was decidedly baked into the muffin from the bread basket, which I tried to eat after my entree. The feeling of that hair wrapped around my tongue still makes me cringe. When I told the server, she was reaction-less, to my surprise. These two mishaps are so unfortunate because the short rib entree and the chopped salad with grilled shrimp were both delightful.
People were nice but did not execute well. For example, brought appetizer and entre together. Never offered to take off check even though it was left over since did not want entre t get cold.
Enjoyable lunch. Didn’t rush us. Very attentive staff and great food.
Very good food and it's local ! Going to make it my local place to get food from now on...
Food was excellent, and the Guinness was better than the one I had in the Guinness Factory in Dublin!
Our second annual New Year’s Eve luncheon was fabulous!
Very good food. We asked for a quieter table and they were very accommodating. Not our first time and we will go back!
A really bad experience from start to finish. We asked for water. The waitress forgot and forgot and forgot. We asked for bread and the waitress forgot that as well. I asked to take home the remaining half of my steak and the waitress didn’t forget that - she threw it out and then blamed the entire series of mistakes on the busboy. No accommodation and no steak to take home. Especially frustrating since it was all on her and she was only too happy to throw a co- worker under the bus. Needless to say I won’t be going back.
Food never disappoints. Had chicken with Soba noodle salad . Excellent. Chicken tender with a bit of a crust. Appetizers very generous. Can easily be shared. Good bar staff.
Great neighborhood gem. Had the marinated skirt steak, enjoyed it thoroughly.
Good food pleasant server. Had mashed potatoes were cold but gave us hot ones right away.
We did get a high table at the bar, like we requested on our OpenTable reservation. However, we didn't get a bread basket before our meal, which we specifically asked for when placing our order. And our waitress disappeared for a bit when we were waiting to order a second drink and the dessert menu. But overall it was good.
I was very pleased with Sullivan's Quay overall. As I rated, the food was very good (the Salmon was excellent) and the service was also very good. Will definitely go again...
Sullivan's is our standing go-to Friday evening place to go when we don't want to think too long about trying something new. We tend to eat early (5-5:30), so it is rarely a problem dropping in without a reservation. The food is always reliably good and the menu doesn't change much, so we have favorites.
We look forward to coming to Sullivan's Quay every few weeks. Everything we've had has been good, but recently, my husband and I have become totally addicted to the Cobb salad. I think we've ordered it the last 6 or 8 times we've been there! The service is always friendly and attentive. A really great dining experience--consistently!
Waited 15 minutes for water, 30 minutes for drinks, an hour from the time and we only ordered 2 salads for dinner.
Lamb appetizer over cooked.
Beef patty ordered medium was rare.
Not their best night.
Avocado toast was nothing like described in the menu. Was just slices of avocado on the toast with the egg on top and had a huge handful of spring mix just on the plate beside it. I mean HUGE handful.
The manager is the best 👏👍 she made our night perfect
First time at Sullian's for dinner after several lunches. Quality of food and service was top notch. We had huge dinner salads (skirt steak and cobb) that were fresh and tasty. Restaurant was busy but not noisy. Back room was pleasant. Will definitely return.
Servers so personable and understanding. Enjoyed our dinning experience
Not as good as alwAys. Our usual waitress not there. Chicken dry bread market muffins tasted like baking soda.
Great drinks and burgers. I do miss a salad that they had on the menu for years. It had mandarins oranges and chicken. It was so yummy. Maybe they’ll put it back on the menu
We were pleasantly surprised. We will definitely be going back.
It’s always the wonderful.
service and food are good--noise level is high at times due to the bar
Delicious shrimp and crab salad for a warm summer night.
Normally ok here. But on this particular evening we were promptly seated and our order was taken. After drinks arrived we saw no food for over an hour. Other tables seemed to be having the same issue so likely not the waitress' fault. However we were offered no explanation or anything else. Once the food arrived we asked for the check, paid, ate quickly and exited in frustration.
Delicious Mother’s Day dinner
Great comfort food served in a cozy relaxed setting.
As always it's a great meal
Gina is a great waitress
Great atmosphere, ate in bar, food was cooked just like we wanted. Waitress was nice. She disappeared after food served, needed steak knife and another wine.No big deal, but happened😊
Always have a great experience. Food is excellent and very pleasant servers
First time I’ve had bad service here. Assuming it was an off night.
I hadn't been to Sullivan's Quay for a while - don't know why. I'm so glad we tried it again on Friday night. Everything about it was wonderful! The ambience in the back room (old Library comfort to me), the comfortable chairs next to the fireplace, and the really tasty food. I highly recommend the marinated steak!
Saturday night dinner, reservations is recommended. Seated promptly, servers very attentive. Food cooked well, appetizers well presented and tasty ( who has ever heard of Irish Nachos? ) . Main dish was good, not exceptional. Desserts average. Bill ( $$$ ).
