Sukhothai - City Centre
Always been a fantastic meal inside of Sukhothai, second time I’ve been and never felt disappointed.
The decor is really lovely but the food is mediocre. The service was ok however, one waiter got annoyed with me because I had asked to change a drink I ordered and for me my view of the restaurant went downhill from there
The staff were incredibly rude and disrespectful.
Good Thai food! We ate there early before a show and it was quiet. The service was quick and friendly, my only negative was that the toilets could have been a bit cleaner but overall really enjoyed the food and the experience!
Food and service spot on, did find the music abit loud and not the genre for a THAI restaurant, overall it very pleasant for a first time and would certainly recommend.
First time at the restaurant and definitely wasn’t disappointed. The service was amazing with our waitress advising us on dishes. The restaurant was fairly quiet due to our time of dining so there wasn’t mush atmosphere but that was solely down to the time of day. Food was delicious and served beautifully. Will definitely be back!
The service was really poor. We were seated without lunch menus so had to find a member of staff to ask for them. It took ages for drinks to come. We asked for a jug of water but just received a class each. The starters came before the drinks. My friend received the wrong main. We ate ours before her correct one arrived. No one asked us for anymore drinks. I asked for more water and I had to ask again as it didn't arrive. It came with the bill at the end. The bill was wrong as it included the wrong main. We had to ask for it to be changed. The staff were nowhere to be seen for the majority of our visit. The only good things were that the food was good and the staff emerged with the bill to sing my friend happy birthday with a free scoop of ice cream.
Very nice restaurant, authentic thai feel. Food was excellent and reasonable in terms of price for city centre restaurant, would go back next time I'm in Leeds.
I have eaten at this restaurant quite a few times, but tonight the service was not very good. I had to ask for some crackers and I had to ask for our drinks.
Great food quick service and defo a go back restaurant thank you
Large and terrific choice on the menu. We went pre- theatre for the second time recently and it was excellent again.
Was all good but bit over priced for what you got .
Best Thai restaurant in Leeds! And one of my faveourite places in Leeds also the food is just as nice as the real stuff over in Thailand
Tha food was amazing, we all really enjoyed the experience
Beautiful restaurant lovely people brilliant service brilliant food will definitely be going again
Lovely food, good service & a very enjoyable experience. We will be back!
Great food and great service , cocktails where great I would certainly recommend this restaurant
I had messaged the restaurant to advise that we were celebrating my partner's 50th Birthday and was disappointed that this was not acknowledge on the night. We were taken to the basement area which is not got great lighting and not great for high heels.
The waiting on staff were really helpful.
The cocktails were fab.
The food was good but we would have preferred the meals marked with a 3 for high spice to be a bit hotter.
Will defo return but perhaps not for a special birthday.
Better food than we had in Thailand!
Was a last minute booking and didn’t disappoint. Great tasting food, staff very friendly and welcoming.
We were going to a comedy gig so didn’t have lots of time, and although the restaurant was very busy the service was super and the quality of food as great as always. Thanks Sukhothai Leeds! ☺️👍🏼
Having eaten at Sukothai in Chapel Alperton on numerous occasions I was disappointed and felt the food wasn’t as good as previous visits.
The starter was perfect but the main course was cold and undercooked.
We wanted a restaurant in Leeds for a quality early-evening anniversary meal. Found the Sukhothai online, and it gave everything we wanted and more. Excellent
I went with the chicken pad thai dish and while it was really tasty it was not a large portion compared to others in fact I wish I had taken a starter but felt they were expensive for what you get so I’m afraid I left a tab hungry so if you go there maybe stick to the curry’s and rice for a more filling meal
Amazing food (as ever) but the service was unusually poor. We had to wait 25 minutes for our table then, once seated, had to order drinks 3 times and continually chase them to get anything to drink (including water). We had no drinks at all until after our starters had been cleared away. It was very disappointing to then have the additional rounds of drinks we never received included on the bill!
It was worth repeating just how good the food was. The whole party really enjoyed both courses but the issues with the service did dampen our spirits unfortunately.
Been here a few times now when visiting Leeds and can say its my favourite restaurant!! Food is beautiful and the portion sizes are just right.
Absolutely incredible service, food and cocktails all amazing one of the best places i’ve been
Great service, great food. Just what I come to expect from Sukothai. Catered well for a birthday lunch.
Beautiful food served very quickly! Really enjoyed our meals. We came for a birthday meal and the staff were all so lovely and personable.
Thank you for a brilliant evening with great food, drink and service.
Very tasty food beautifully presented along with excellant service. Quite quiet as it was a Monday so ambience was lacking but to be expected. Will definately be back, loved it!
Huge menu with an excellent choice. The restaurant is spacious and airy and ideal for small or large groups. The food was very tasty, good quality. Service was average and could definitely have been more attentive. Following our main course and clearing plates away, we were not offered a dessert menu but I presume desserts are available should you want one.
A lot of choice at this restaurant, with great flavours and atmosphere. A few of us went for the duck option which was a bit fatty for our liking, however this didn't stop it being an enjoyable meal. Would still go again, but would probably order something different.
Excellent freshly made food. Great ambience and service.
Excellent cuisine in a beautiful restaurant. Staff are polite and immaculately turned out. Fast service. Quality and choice of food is exceptional. Really enjoyed my evening here.
Walked straight in with our booking, seated very well next to the glass stairs. Absolutely buzzing inside, abit hectic. Food came within minutes after ordering; all piled onto our table which led to a few droppings of cutlery and plates. Tempura prawns were the highlight of the meal - absolutely mouthwatering flavours and taste. However, the rice was over cooked and Hard. The staff were brilliant when approached, juggling multiple tasks for multiple tables in a stress. Another downfall, was the portion size. The main dishes lacked sufficient quantity for what you’re paying - the food isn’t excellent, it’s good which doesn’t cancel out the portion sizes. I’d like to see more on my plate next time for value of money. But all in all, had a great experience and will be visiting in future since it’s on my doorstep and the flavours we’re on fleek.
Overall very good experince. Very long wait for our meal after ordering, but we appeared to be the only table and were gifted a bottle of wine for the wait. Food is absolutely excellent! Would definitely go again
Staff very friendly but I struggled to hear what they were saying to me as they talked too quiet. Food was ok but nothing special. Not a place if you are wanting an intimate meal as the tables are too close together.
Having been here numerous times we were left a little bit disappointed on this occasion by the slow service in regards to our initial drinks order which hadn't been taken for at least 15 mins from sitting at the table then we were left waiting for another 15 mins for our order to be taken. In the meantime the table next to us were seated, drinks order taken and delivered then food order was taken and complimentary crackers had arrived at their table all by the time our drinks arrived ( we never received any complimentary crackers...).
The food we ordered however was as always hot freshly cooked and delicious.
So despite the poor service to us which to be fair may have been recognised by the owner as he did clear our table and converse with us while offering an apology for delays we will return as the food is great.
This is the second time I have been with family and we love the food. The staff are very welcoming, they overheard us mention a birthday and surprised my daughter with a cake and candles as they sang. Great atmosphere we will definitely be returning.
Pre theatre, my wife and I sampled the Early Bird menu which was outstanding value and an excellent selection of dishes. We added typical Thai soup between courses as we had experienced in Thailand and these were excellent but not as spicy as we expected. The standard of cuisine was very good indeed.
The service was very efficient without being obtrusive and overall, it was a great meal at an extremely good price.
Were there any downsides? Well, as a restaurant wine list is judged by its house wines, the red which was a tempranillo was dull and characterless and was the only downside to a thoroughly enjoyable dinner.
