Sugar Factory - Chicago River North
Totally fun place to visit! Fabulous service, delicious food and just a great time!
Really enjoyed myself along with my friends. We will return!
Very exciting atmosphere! Our waiter, Edwin, was very attentive and friendly.
Teen Birthday Blast!! 😃🎉🙌🏽Our daughter picked this place for her 14th birthday and our whole family had a blast!! Teens are very finicky and hard to please (too old for Chuck E Cheese, too young for nightclubs) but this place gets it just right with gobs of fun sugary drinks (she had gummies), candy and a dance party atmosphere. ❤️
The novelty of the candy & drinks were a great hit for my young child, but the drink prices were ridiculously high & the food was pretty bad.
Absolutely not worth the money! Food was terrible!!
Very good food and service and nice atmosphere. We will for sure be going back.
We had reservations fore 6:30 and didn't get our food until 7:30. No one ordered any thing complex. I'd recommend stopping in only for dessert, having a full meal was a waste of time and money.
I took my daughter here for her 13th birthday. The only part of my dining experience that lived up to my expectation was the drink. The drink was beautiful and my daughter was wowed. However, the menu was extremely limited to burgers and other finger foods. I had the chicken alfredo and chicken and waffles. Both were below average. The food did not have any flavor at all. My advice is to go for dessert only. Skip dinner.
The food, drinks, service were all fantastically. My only complaint is that my drink (mai tai) was so full of ice I could barely even get the straw in the glass.
The milkshakes are ridiculously amazing. The chandeliers are beautiful and the whole vibe is fun and big city. Our service was considerably slow, and I've heard this of other locations. I'll still go back, though!
Food was great, server was great, everything was wonderful. Expect the service from the valet men!!! Haven’t gone in a while, and in the past the host would give the parking vouchers. So I was confused and asking questions and the valet man got rude ROLLED HIS EYES AND SNATCHED MONEY!!!!! had such a good night but that ruined it. I hope this isn’t the kind of people sugar factory hires! This man definitely needs to be retrained. Probably won’t go back if I have to deal with an attitude like that which was totally uncalled for.
Very loud and fun place. Food was okay but it’s all about the atmosphere. Pricey but you are paying for the experience. Just be prepared for the noise and bright lights.
This place was overrated and my waiter was terrible.
Great service, pretty tasty food. Brick chicken was bomb and mac and cheese ball appetizers 👌
Kids loved it there, great food and memories. Food servings are huge, my daughter and I could of shared the chicken fettuccine and my 15 & 12 year old could of shared a burger and fries, we all have big appetites so this was great. Make awesome left overs. We ate chicken fettuccine, mac balls, fried chicken and waffle burger and all was amazing! The specialty drinks were okay, the kids loved getting them and the experience, I wasn’t overly impressed with the virgin Mai Tai and didn’t think tasted good neither did my daughter but the boys loved theirs. The meal for 4 no appetizers and 2 drinks was $150 without tip. Would of been way more if they would of offered dairy free ice cream dessert or almond/coconut ice cream dessert. They had no choices for lactose intolerant kids, not even a cookie or brownie. The waitress said they have many people turn away dessert just for that reason. Wouldn’t of been nice for 2 of us to have dessert in front of them. I decided to splurge even more after dinner and didn’t ask prices, they weren’t posted, for the pick your own candy and they each got a small thing full and cost $66!!!! I couldn’t believe it especially since it was cheap candy nothing fancy or unordinary! Overall the experience was fun and my kids want their Birthday meals here.
Cute place for kids and cocktails. Brunch is mediocre. The eggs for being poached were hard boiled. The restaurant was not busy and the waitress is not very attentive . Waited forever for the check and to have her take the bill. The girls milkshakes were very cool. They added on the tip 20 percent to the bill but did not mention it so I am glad I read through it first.
Best experience for the family and myself. Will be back for more.
They carry very little inventory so if you have been to i.e., Las Vegas this store will leave you very disappointed. Nobody was in there at 1:00 p.m. yet my food was late, congealed, cold, and disgusting. This particular Sugar Factory is subpar, therefore overpriced. I have been to other ones and had a wonderful experience. I know Chicago can do better.
Very slow service
Sugar Factory was a great place for a 15 year old girl's birthday dinner. However, as an adult, I wouldn't recommend it if you're looking for good cuisine. The food was extremely overpriced and frankly mediocre at best. The decor was fun, but it was incredibly loud. We had a great time as a family with teenagers, but likely won't return.
Wish they had smaller drink options for the kids - but it was definitely worth the experience for them to order their own. They could only drink like 1/4 of it though
My husband and I went here for our birthday and it was fantastic! The food was delicious and big portioned, the drinks were strong and whimsical, the appetizers were quickly received and the dessert was just right. Our server was attentive, knowledgeable, and quick. This was our first time here and we’ve already made reservations for a month from now but this time we’re bringing our two kids to enjoy as well.
Great place for teens and tweens!
Milk shakes are amazing, waiting staff is excellent and the food tasted really good!
I really enjoyed having my birthday dinner at the sugar factory. It was the perfect place
My server was excellent we had no problems he was so good as a server I had to tip him twenty or not dollars.
Had a great experience at Sugar Factory with my two ladies
Huge menu for food burgers, salad, steaks etc
Super fun & cute atmosphere
Food was great
Music was fun and energetic
Kayla was our waitress - she was so kind and friendly, took photos for us
The food/drinks looks exactly like the photos, actually even better in person
Very kid friendly
Great for a party or dinner
It is a little pricey but it’s an experience
I would recommend
This location is better than NY
Not really a con but you need to make reservations
I love the waiter Edwin! He made my sisters birthday so great! Amazing service every time with Edwin! We love the food here and we will always come back!
Atmosphere is good. Food is mediocre -- expensive for what you get. Fun place for kids. We were late and they still honored our reservation, so that was much appreciated.
Daughters 4th birthday dinner
We have wanted to try Sugar Factory the last couple times we visited Chicago. Overall the food was good, just maybe not as amazing as we assumed it would be. The look of the restaurant itself is very interesting, kind of reminded us of a Vegas look (but a bit on the greasy Vegas style). This location could have used a good deep cleaning and maybe a bit of touching up. The drinks and desserts are outrageous but worth trying once. I had the salmon salad and my husband had the club sandwich, both were very good.
Cool atmosphere. Definitely touristy. Was great for my 3 year old since he loved the energy and music. Unfortunately, food was not good.
The atmosphere was fun, the drinks/shakes were good and gorgeous. However, our waiter wasn't the greatest and the quality of the food for the price was very disappointing. Candy by the ounce was WAY overpriced. The kids had fun and that is what we wanted. I just wish us as parents were equally impressed.
The food is delicious and the drinks are BOMB! Only thing is if you’re planning on going to the Sugar Factory be ready to spend some cash because it’s very expensive, yet worth it.
So kind, good food and great sweet treats!
Everything was perfect
We had a 5:45pm reservation and still had to wait on a Sunday. Hosting wanted to seat my two children and I in the bar area, when the dinning room was available. Instead of seating us in more inside the dinning room we were sat at a corner, (yes there were plenty of open tables available). Our Server was good and attentive. The Managers standing in the corner, instead of maybe making sure things (tables, & floors) were properly cleaned before guest sit down. The menu was a little overwhelming, The food was good and pricing is what you would expect for the area. One thing for the server staff, if you drop the "to-go" bag on the floor, just get another one please.
Great place for girls to celebrate birthdays!
