this jewel. I don't normally visit a place twice but I can't wait to come back when its warm to sit outside, enjoy the view and eat good food. They have limited menu in the winter and only serve on Fri-Sat when the golf course is not open but still have really good options. The caprese salad and salmon were devine! I love Ali! She is an amazing server, super friendly and her husband is from Asheville. Score points with the NC gurl! I'll be back and the hubby can play golf since it's a public course.
Food was excellent, wait staff was friendly and service was excellent.
Beautiful Valentine's Day Dinner!!
The food was fresh, well-prepared, and delicious! Well worth the drive around Storm King, but could have used some lit marking once we drove onto the golf course property.
Nice restaurant on golf course with pleasant view. Good burgers. pleasant atmosphere.
The place has amazing views, perfect for the sunset time. Unfortunately we visited on a night the chef was not around and menu choices were very limited. I hope to go back and try the full menu.
Outstanding service, spectacular view overlooking the golf coarse and mountains. The food was terrible. The waitress kept telling us that they were not prepared for the crowd they were getting and as a result they had run out of everything by the time our reservation was for. They substituted flank steak for prime rib and God only knows how long that flank steak had been in the freezer. The only reason I would go back is because the wait staff was so nice and the made every effort to accommodate us. Too bad the kitchen was such a failure.
It was a nice venue. The waitress was pleasant. The service was quite slow and they had run out of a number of items on an already limited menu. Would probably not go there again.
We arrived with a large party as they were reverting to a late hours limited menu. The new owner reopened the dining room and offered the full menu to us, and was so gracious about it. Great views, terrific service!
Made a 6:15 reservation for 8 through open table. We all show up at 6:10 to be told the kitchen was closed! Extremely disappointing
Our new waitress was outstanding! We had a table for 6! Prime rib special was worth it. The free ice cream was great too! We will definitely be back.
Went here a cuple of weeks ago on a hot summer afternoon for lunch. The view is excellent, but the food is run of the mill. A limited menu for our lunch meal, nnothing to write home about. There were just a handful of patrons eating. I might add that there is a separate dining area that could serve well for an occasion with nice aesthetics, but I would look into the menu offerings before booking.
We always enjoy ourselves at SKT. Phil and the waitress and barmaid always treat us nicely.
We decided to try SKT for prime rib on Friday June 21, 2019. A member of our party had requested their prime rib to be medium rare and it arrived medium well. Our waiter was always missing when we needed something, never came to check on us. We ordered a 2nd round of drinks and it took him 20 minutes to fulfill. I believe they were understaffed that particular night.
We enjoy this place for a casual brunch now and again and they never disappoint.
Great experience, great service, great view, great food
We were given a limited menu with only a choice of four entrees, one of which was sold out? We had a 6:30 reservation, the restaurant was not busy at all, how could you be sold out ? We where not given the option to order off the bar menu? Then it took two hours for our food to come and when it did portions of the meal were cold (mashed potatoes and broccoli). It was obvious it was not the waitress's fault and she made the best of a bad situation. The bartender was also on point. The views are spectacular at Storm King Tavern, the restaurant is clean and very nice, lets hope they can get it going!
Storm King Tavern had a delicious fresh buffet with a great array of selections for Mothers Day brunch. The views from the dining room are gorgeous and the service is exceptional.
Had a wonderful time, food was delicious, service was outstanding, and the restaurant is very pretty. Amazing Mountain View’s with a nice fireplace. Looking forward to planning my wedding service hopefully:)
Excellent food every time we come here. Never really crowded but we tend to come for lunch and only the occasional dinner
The wait staff were nice. I called ahead since the menu on The views were beautiful and the staff friendly.
Open table did not match the website. I was told they did not have the mushroom risotto but did have a mushroom burger. When I got there, I was told they do not have a mushroom burger and they were not sure why I was told that.
My crowd was mixed with vegans and vegetarians so we had to ask for substitutions to fit dietary needs. The staff was very accommodating. My only criticism is our fries were brought out too late and they were very cold. They were supposed to be starters, which made us think that they were forgotten by the waitstaff and just sat in the kitchen getting cold.
Great restaurant on the golf course.. food and service was excellent!
I wasn’t expecting much as a restaurant in a golf course/country club, but I was very pleasantly surprised. The setting is lovely, the service was accommodating and pleasant, and the food was very good indeed. We were the only customers (a Thursday afternoon at about 3), so I don’t know what it would be like when busy. The curried chicken salad platter with mango and avocado was delicious (and beautifully presented), and my friends’ burgers were done just right. We went because it’s close to Storm King, but we would go back again on its own merits.
Food good, service great, view amazing. Stain on table cloth :( overall it was a great experience.
Great Find, Beautiful views of Storm King Mountain and Golf course. Food was outstanding, wait staff so pleasant and accommodating...Great ambiance and food.
Good menu, delicious food, a bit too noisy...salmon was fantastic, nice pour on a great red blend wine. Go and enjoy!
We had a lovely brunch with friends. Chef Scott is wonderful and the food was delicious!
The dining room is nice but missing some warmth( fireplace was lovely) - ambient lighting would help. Music was nice and lent to the enjoyment of the evening.
Food was good & plentiful and the waitstaff was very attentive.
The view in Spring & summer & outdoor area is the best part !!
Food was good. Service was very disappointing. Confusion with the check. Very slow. Probably wont go again
Nice window table to view the fall foliage while having lunch. Good onion soup and salads.
Seemed a bit understaffed at lunch but they were friendly and attentive
Lovely location with friendly service. Good choice of options on menu and it had a children’s menu available too
Stopped here after touring SKAC and had a lovely meal overlooking the golf course. The outdoor patio has room for 8-10 wrought iron tables and the view is spectacular. But, if indoor eating is needed, the bar area is also a great choice. There is a more formal dining room on the other side of the bar, too. The food was delicious and the prixe fixed meal (everyday?) was quite a deal. Our waiter, Phil, was friendly and very pleasant. We were told the setting in the autumn is also fantastic. As you can see, we loved our first visit to the Storm King Tavern.
A hidden gem! Amazing food and service and a gorgeous view! We found it by accident while traveling to upstate NY and could not have been happier with the food and service. I'm celiac and they were thoughtful of my allergy and able to make modifications for me. The shrimp scampi with gluten-free bread on the side was great as was the curried chicken salad my friend ordered.
We took our niece there who was visiting from North Carolina. We had heard good things about the restaurant but had never been there before. We went on a week day night so it wasn't very crowded. We sat outside and enjoyed the beautiful view. We all had different entrees and drinks. The food was flavorful and presented beautifully. We shared a delicious dessert. Our waitress (Bailey) was very attentive and checked in on us often without being intrusive. We definitely plan on going back.
Lovely food and location history.
Amazing food, service is still slow when bisy but has improved.
wonderful, extremely special attention,
We are members and eat here often. The menu and food quality are always consistent, very good. Service is outstanding, great staff, they are always very accommodating.
Highly recommend!
I expected more. The dining room, golf course and view of the mountains were beautiful. But the service and the food fell short. My girlfriend ordered the Chef's appetizer special which was a Caprese salad over a bed of greens. What was served was bruschetta on a crostini. When my girlfriend asked the server about it she said, "Oh we have a new Chef and he meant bruschetta, not caprese. He's new and doesn't speak English well." We will not be dining here again.
The food was terrific, however the service was terrible. It was Mother's Day afternoon, very small crowd at 5 PM, but the service was horrible, we waited nearly 30 minutes for our order to be placed, drinks too. When the meals were delivered, they made a point to say that they put an extra chicken breast on my wife and daughter's plates. But then came out and asked if I ordered anything? It took another 5 - 10 minutes to bring out my plate. The waitresses were hanging around and almost forgot to give us the check, until we asked. If there was competence on the wait staff, this would have been very enjoyable because the view is wonderful.
