Incredible location and food to match. A relaxed ambiance and service was incredible.
Outstanding as always - staff, ambience, wine list all first class. Vegan food is exceptional here.
Very disappointed with food.
Ordered the lobster 🦞 for $85 and it was alone on the plate - half lobster Witt minimal flesh. Vegetarian option was not cooked through and the artichoke was inedible and raw.
The vegetarian entree was bland and needed seasoning or flavour. Had pickles, goats curd, and was nothing special.
The salad 🥗 was small for three people.
Service was overly intrusive and patronising- seemed inexperienced. Cheese platter and lemon tart - average. $500
For three people and we left hungry and dissatisfied and told
To leave after allocated time and nowhere to have a further drink - won’t ever go back. All three were disappointed 😞
As a long time supporter of this venue, I will not be coming back. I was told / reminded that there was a minimum spend of $130 per person. $260.00 for myself and my partner is absolutely ridiculous - for fish and chips.......when I said I was only going to pay for the food and drinks I had I was ridiculed at the front counter by the manager - because I was not supporting their business. Pretty sure the owner of this restaurant is alot more wealthy than myself. Maybe call Dan Andrews and ask hi for a donation as he is the one that has kept hospitality in Lockdown.
Embarrassing and disappointing - Donovans for me from here in - no where near as rude.
It was a beautiful lunch. The food was delicious and the taste was unmatchable. I’ve never tasted food as amazing as today. I was very happy with the service and the ambiance. I was great-full that they allowed us to stay longer over our reservation because I was stuck in traffic. I will definitely be going back there again. A big thank you to the wonderful staff!
Great food and experience
Please fix your air conditioner, 2 years in a row it's a sweatbox in there, it ruins the experience and cannot be enjoyed in such heat. Tint your windows, get awnings or add split systems. It really is time to do something about it.
Amazing views, incredible food. We would certainly recommend it.
We had a table by the window and the sunset was magic! Service as usual was impeccable and the food was sublime, quite an expensive night though at 400+ and only for 2 hours with the Covid restrictions
A lovely return to normal ❤️
Oysters were amazing! Nice atmosphere with attentive friendly staff..
What a lovely experience we had recently dining at Stokehouse.
Excellent staff, great food and how nice was it to be able to start eating out again after all of the COVID-19 restrictions.
We will definitely be back.
Had a beautiful dinner for my girlfriends birthday I highly recommend it .
We had a wonderful evening and would recommend for a special occasion.
We are a party of 6 for a special birthday celebration.
Stokehouse was brilliant. Service was exceptional, food delicious and the location perfect
Lovely dinner for our anniversary. Haven’t been to Stokehouse since the rebuild and love how it hasn’t lost it’s calm and welcoming feel
The entrees were delicious and our waitress Shelby was so attentive. Our mains were somewhat lack lustre and the wine wasn't great. The $500 bill came as a bit of a shock at the end as we only had an entree each, a main each, one bottle of wine, a couple of cocktails and a shared dessert. Overall a lovely experience but best kept for special occasions.
Only our 2nd time at the Stokehouse since the rebuild. Last time we were a bit underwhelmed. This time, with a new ex-Aria Sydney chef who is obviously a wizard with seafood, it was truly sublime. I think it now has the sort of food, with subtlety and lightness of touch, that befits its beach location. 10/10.
An amazing lunch. We couldn't fault anything. Service was so personable and friendly. Food was immpecable and presentation was immaculate. A must visit to all you foodies.
This was my first time eating out since February and I have to say I was blown away by the service, atmosphere and food at Stokehouse. I actually don’t like seafood and I tried some things from the seafood platter and really enjoyed them.
Drinks were fabulous, all the food was delicious. I now have a wonderful place I’ll keep coming back to.
Perfect birthday dinner for my partner. The venue was buzzing ,staff beaming to be back at work & provided attentive but discrete service, menu interesting, food beautiful. Portions are sized so you can sample each course. Wine lust draws from lesser known varieties, vineyards and styles so was interesting and perfectly matched with the menu. We enjoyed the evening thoroughly, location is stunning by the bay.
Just one of Melbourne's great restaurants. Loved being back.
Was a very good experience but wasn't the same quality as remembered
Our waitress was amazing as was the food especially the lemon tart. All the team made us feel welcome and cared for. Thank you 😍
Thank you so much for welcoming us back, it was a wonderful evening, food service and beautiful sip it near the window
Staff were amazing! Fit out and view also amazing! Food = perfection and champagne selection phenomenal... they had an 08 Dom vintage hard to find anywhere!
The single worst meal I've had in a restaurant.
The steak was "wagyu", medium and it came out raw. When I asked for mustard, initially they only had french not English. I asked for it to be seared and it was still bright red on the outside. I ate a miniscule portion off the edges and took the rest home for my dog. They didn't even ask what was wrong when I sent 90% of it back to be wrapped. The vegetables were cold. Before ordering the potatoes, I asked if they were crispy and the waitress said "sort of". Fact is they were under cooked and covered in a cheese of sorts, again didn't eat them or the asparagus. I've eaten here many many times in the past and when I told a friend I was going, he said it's over priced and crap food. I've already told another friend who was going this week to cancel and she did.
Great food, wonderful view and terrific service. Fabulous choice for a long lunch, and remains one of my favourites. Not so fab is not being asked if we wanted the second bottle of mineral water (we didn't, and didn't drink any of the extra that was poured) and then finding we were charged $22 for 2 bottles of mineral water. I didn't want to make a fuss at the time, and it seems a bit first-world-problem in nature given the total spend was around $500, but it's the principal that slightly annoyed me.
Delicious food, beautiful views and friendly staff. Highly recommend!
Was lovely to be back. Delicious food, amazing view and friendly and welcoming staff.
Amazing lunch cannot fault
It was fabulous
We really loved everything. Our waiter was amazing too. He was so friendly. So thank you Olly for a great lunch
Me and my wife went out for dinner at the storehouse, the food was magnificent especially the octopus starter. Excellent service and beautiful views from the restaurant.
Will definitely be back in the future
Had our anniversary dinner there this week. It was a little strange given whats going on in the world and maybe not as busy or energetic as usual but the venue, food and service is fantastic. Well worth a visit.
The fish and chips were both overcooked-the fish-and undercooked-the chips.
It was a fantastic experience and everyone from the initial welcome to the final payment was outstanding.
The food was exceptional and well worth the price. I did find the wine costs very expensive and for the 8 people it ended up being a very costly exercise. It would not preclude me attending again and I have already recommended it as a perfect destination for a romantic dinner for two.
I would be proud to highly recommend this as a place in Melbourne people need to visit. I have many international friends and always looking for something special to do with them and with the location, view, ambiance and service this will be very high on my list.
Great food, service & views!!
Very attentive and knowledgeable staff ran us through the menu with ease.
A little humour from the staff and their smile added to the enjoyment of the evening.
Food & wine were superb.
Great food, superb service and amazing views.
The Stokehouse is one of the best. (I tried to keep it short, simple and specific.)
