It was a hot day and the aircon area wasn’t open on the day. Doesn’t make sense when you consider you’re there to satisfy your customers. All else about Stokey is great.
This is simply the best restaurant in Brisbane I'm aware of. River view, superb food, excellent wine list. Service is also exceptional. I cannot fault The Stokehouse.
Looking to celebrate a special event? This is perfect. Although the pricing is a little on the exy side, the fabulous food and excellent service really encourages you to simply enjoy the moment.
The food was excellent with great flavour, unfortunately the steak was cold. We were welcomed very professionally, and table was frequented by chef/owner which was a nice touch. Unfortunately waitress who were saw most did not match the other service staff and we regularly had empty glasses.
Stellar service, wonderful ambience, delicious food with perfectly balanced flavours..
Beautiful food ... would highly recommend going here at least once in your life... tip: you should order a side or your meal is pretty much just the protein.
An incredible evening with amazing food, beautifully paired wine and great service. Couldn’t ask for more. Even the rain was beautiful in the riverside location. Highly recommend it.
Had a great night out for my wife’s birthday, wait staff exceptional, service exceptional food very nice but portions very small for the prices, a $48 pork belly and octopus main consisted of 4, 2cm cubes of pork belly with 2, 1.5cm bits of octopus. Sides are extra.
Good excellent and service very good. Wines over priced, however, compared with other comparable restaurants.
Being from a regional town, we were excited to get to the city and experience some fine dining.
We booked storehouse q and when we arrived we were greeted and shown to our table.
We chose wine and the guy seemed reasonably knowledgeable.
A second waiter came along and pulled some grubby yellow post it’s from his apron to read the specials. Not what I’d expect from a high end restaurant.
The starters were average and the delicate scallop flavour was overpowered with a strong, cheap curry powder flavour.
They don’t leave your wine at the table instead pouring it into a carafe, my husbands glass was empty a while and we couldn’t get a waiters attention.
We waited an hour for our mains with an excuse about a large table but others around us were getting their mains despite arriving after us. There was no offer of a drink by way of apology.
My fish was beautiful but woefully presented and in a disgusting tomato sauce.
The maître d when we informed her of the issues with the wait was so incredibly rude.
We love good food and are more than happy to pay for a high quality dining experience. This, that was not and at $240 I wouldn’t never dine there again. I ate at my hotel the night before for a fraction of the price and it was far better than stoke house q.
Great location on a hot humid day in Brisbane. Open air venue with fans and blinds as required.
Service was amazing. Food was enjoyed by all at the table.
Extensive drinks menus
Loved the venue, the food was great, little of a different slant on seafood very tasty but not over bearing. Wine selection suitable for a tastes.
Service was very attentive, jovial and only to happy to please. New all the food and how they were served. Had a great experience and will go back.
Great service and food. The location is always spectacular
We have dined here before and loved it, however the food has declined significantly since then and unfortunately at these prices = seriously disappointing. Obscenely overpriced!! The Service and ambience saved the experience somewhat.
The food was really good apart from the fish which was suggested by the chef as "specials" and was rather disappointing. But everything else was really tasty.
Service was outstanding. The meal (especially the Lamb and wine) were awesome. Consistency is the hallmark of an outstanding dining experience. This place has it in spades.
Position position position and the
Team were delightful. From the bar to front of house. Polished. We were beautifully looked after.
We had a great experience on Monday night. Our meals were on time and food was delicious. Our waiter was polite and very knowledgeable with a great personality that made the experience fun.
Would highly recommend
Really great food and service. Thanks Lisa and Jan
Amazing food, great service and really cool atmosphere.
Great service, beautiful view, amazing atmosphere. Some of the food flavours didn’t quite work together super well. Standard of food was spectacular however.
Wine and drink list is amazing. They also have unique wine from
Smaller wine makers which is lovely.
Service was exceptional and food and location were great. We’ll be back.
Ben was outstanding in his job, very knowledgeable and personable. He should be commended for his service.
We arrived from NZ and wanted a good restaurant for Monday lunch. I booked online and indicated it was a special occasion. We were never asked what it was, so why ask? The restaurant had loud music playing. The maître d’ showed us to a big round table (we were 3) that she said would be quieter. It meant my view was the serving wall and it was an odd spatial experience being on this table.
The food was delicious but the portions are not generous. We enjoyed our time with our guest which was the most important thing - and she had a great view of the river. We wouldn’t return.
We visited the bar area for a drink before dinner. The staff on both areas were really lovely and made our experience at Stokehouse special. We had to be finished but a certain time and the waiter made sure everything ran on time. Will definitely go back!
StokehouseQ is a brilliant example of fine dining in Brisbane. Attentive and passionate (foodie) staff. We had the perfect night with an amazing custom made marbled birthday cake bought out as a surprise, our bday girl guest. 5* all round. Especially for those city/riverside views. Highly recommended.
It’s a nice place but the 1.5% credit card surcharge is inappropriate.
Thoroughly enjoyed lunching at Stokehouse. Menu was superb and our party were all very happy with our choices. Staff were knowledgeable and also patient and laidback - much appreciated in a long lazy lunch on the river.
Been a customer for many years but maybe no more. . The food was the most disappointing we have had. The steak was good, two of the morteon bay bugs were ok but overpriced for what was served. The third, the 350gram was bad. Very little loose pieces of meat and oversauced to fill the shell. Waste of money. The ceviche was oversalted to the point not edible. Had the same course in the St Kilda branch the week before and was excellent.
Thankfully the service and ambiance was excellent.
Complained when paying. Been waiting for a call from the manager to discuss. No call received. Another bad mark.
Great outlook over Brisbane city. Interesting options on the menu. The wine selection is solid also. Our service by our wait staff was great.
It was out wedding anniversary and we had high expectations, the lunch was totally delightful and we were very happy to have chosen Stokehouse for our special day.
Great service, great food
Lovely meals and knowledgeable and efficient staff. That said the meal appeared a little rushed, with minimal gap between entree and the main, clearing drinks before they were finished, just was a little off putting.
The food was good, but not convinced on good value.
It was really nice and the host really knew what they were doing.
Being in Business as well, I know that we are now beholden to the review system and the fickleness of the public. It is hard to get people who have a good experience to actively review but it is really easy to get the one bad review, that is so damaging. So here is my review. Excellent in every way. Highly recommend this restaurant. Amazing food, service and location. Thank you.
Amazing food, great service and a fabulous location.
Excellent service with a passion for the food and appropriate drinks. We had a great birthday celebration.
A superb meal as usual and even though the restaurant was busy with seasonal visitors the staff maintained a high level of attentiveness. We did not feel rushed. Everyone was friendly and knowledgeable. Great view of the fireworks on the river too!
Service and location are great but food quality and flavour have dropped significantly from what It used to be. Seriously overpriced.
Never have I paid so much for so little. I am astonished at what $48 can buy. A 1/2 inch strip of duck breast and some confit to accompany does not a meal make and to have to purchase a side dish as well beggars belief. Stokehouse has suffered from it's own self importance I fear. I have eaten at Stokehouse at least 6 times in the past and have always recommended it to others. That will not happen again. There is no value for money except for the view which, I suspect, is what Stokehouse is now trading on as it certainly is not the food. Whilst the little piece of meat I was served was flavoursome and beautifully cooked I thought I was on the receiving end of a joke when presented with this morsel on a huge white plate. My dinner partners were equally unimpressed with their meals (one was an interstate travel agent who, I predict, won't be recommending Stokehouse to any of her clients) both in size and palatability. Never again Stokehouse and won't be recommending this venue to anyone.
