Great position for a restaurant, away from crowds of the city, with views of the river. Menu very creative and food delicious. Really enjoyed ourselves.

At the start service was great and food great. However two major issues. After a nice night with my wife and after being told there was no time pressure on our table, we were given our bill. We paid this and were just finishing off a conversation when we were pretty rudely asked to leave because they needed the table. Quite amazing how poorly this was handled. We left with a sour taste in our mouths. Secondly, the price on the food I thought is above market. When you charge these prices you need to have pretty good service. On this occasion you came up short. We will likely take Stokehouse of our circuit of business meeting lunch options.

I booked a table for my Wife's Birthday, after attending a performance of the Californian Crooners at QPAC. As parking is an issue at Southbank, we walked from QPAC to Stokehouse, where we were greeted warmly and sat down at a riverside balcony to commence with French Champagne & Oysters. Following this, our Waitress had reserved another privater balcony table for us. My wife received birthday wishes from the staff and her dessert plate was endorsed "Happy Birthday" - a great night overall!

Really good experience, although the service is best described as "laid back". Plates to share are a viable option. Fabulous food, well worth the 400km drive for us!

My wife and I took our 17 year daughter to Stokehouse for her Birthday. It was a lovely place to have dinner.
The food was exceptional and the service was also exceptional. We plan on coming back very soon with our relatives visiting from Melbourne. Would recommend Stokehouse to all, to visit for a meal.

Our first visit was for a special occasion and it won't be out last, as we arrived early we were ushered to the bar to await our table. We relaxed watching over the Brisbane river enjoying our glasses of wine not realising that we had now passed our reservation time. The staff politely found us and escorted us to our table, took my coat, our table was by the window also overlooking the river. The attentiveness of the staff was perfect, as were the meals. We had three courses and I must say they were served with perfect timing and we never felt rushed like you do in some restaurants, they gave us all the time in the world. Our waitress Tyler was simply brilliant, her attention was so good that I felt like she was there only for us.

Had a lovely meal at Stokehouse Q - have been there many times before and we made sure that there was room left for the Bombe dessert - it is amazing and didn't disappoint

Service was attentive but not overly attentive which was nice.

We had a full day behind us and were not looking to have starters main and dessert so the choice we made was main and dessert

My wife had the pork and I had the steak - both delicious - our sides were nice too - went for the carrots with fennel tops and the artichoke special - delicious

Dessert was the aforementioned Bombe and we also had the blueberry special that was on that night - delicious -

Stokehouse Q is a lovely place to go for any occasion but we have been there each year to celebrate birthdays for the last few years and we will be back again in 2019 to celebrate again

Thanks to the Stokehouse Q team

Crowded environment, poor wine selection by the glass, and average service. The location is lovely but it's lost due to overcrowding.

Ordered a steak for main, medium rare. Obviously defrosted, either likely poorly sous-vide or microwaved and it came out well done. Why bother? Very disappointed, first time I've been there, had been saving it for a special occasion.
Waitstaff didn't notice, I had to bring it to their attention. Taken off the bill, but geeze, this should be a basic thing that you get right.

The spanner crab raviolo and fish and chips were outstanding. Brilliant location and ambience and very good service. Unfortunately I had the $46 steak and was deeply disappointed. Steak was cold, chewy and tasteless. Wine singles glass was well overpriced. Overrated experience - sorry. I had high expectations!

The food was fantastic. We did have a small issue - our booking was for 8.30pm, we arrived at 7.30pm and we were advised our table wasn't ready yet but they would let us know when it was available. So we had a drink at the bar, then another and another. At 8.40pm we had to ask a waiter what was happening with our table, I think they'd forgotten about us. The table we were allocated was very cold - back area, we had to wear our coats whilst eating. The food was very good and the service was Good. I do think that the price is a little xxxy, especially $38 for fish and chips. We will return as we were impressed with the food......even though we had wait to take our seat. Probably need to book well in advance.

We weren't going to get dessert, too full, but our waiter convinced us by saying some people come just for their signature 'Bombe'. I'm glad we had it, one of the best desserts I have had in a long long time. That meringue! Next time I visit Stokehouse it'll be 2 desserts for me.

The view and location was great but I felt let down by the service. I explained in an email that it was our 22nd wedding anniversary and no one made mention of it or tried to make it special for us. I felt the food was over priced and side dishes such as vegetables should come with the main meal. I didn’t feel the experience was value for money. We probably wouldn’t return.

Limited vegetarian choices and no indication of gluten free, etc, options on menu. Apart from that, food was of a very high standard with excellent service. Interval between starters and main was good. Only criticism is that with the glass doors facing the river closed (as they were on this cool mid week evening), the noise from adjacent tables can be a little loud. From the clientele on this evening, it is obviously a restaurant of choice for business dinners.

Definitely a must return - even if just to sample more amazing dishes !! Wait staff were full of personality & went above to ensure our afternoon was enjoyable.
The prawn tacos & gnocchi were table favourites for starters as was the chicken & swordfish. Could easily return to share more special times & dishes !!

Service was snotty. As a young couple we were looked down upon, took 15 mins for a beer to arrive at the table despite all that was required was the bottle cap to be removed. Steak order was medium rare however was absolutely a rare. Fish of the day, tasted as though it was a couple of days old or defrosted. Wine however was beautiful
