Was excited to be back in Boston and have lunch at Stephanie’s. (Only been once before) The host person was less than friendly and almost seemed inconvenienced. We sat at a tiny table on the street, when other tables on the sidewalk were “socially” available.

Our server, Stephan, was friendly and nice. Ordered the lobster roll, of course. It was good, but I remember it being better. Took a few sips of my strawberry daiquiri and noticed there was a fly in it. When I took my drink to the unfriendly host and asked for a new drink, he looked at it, didn’t say anything apologetic and took it away. A nearby server commented “the hazards of outdoor dinning.” I can tell ya, there were no flies flying around our food or drink and that fly was at the bottom of my glass.

Anyway, I think we’ll be trying other establishments on our next visit. Our overall experience was lacking.

Sat outside dining (due to COVID-19). While most tables were along sidewalk, ours was out in the street w/ cars right there. Celebrating special occasion so asked if could move. Said nothing else available. Sometimes I feel like OpenTable diners are seated in the worst locations.
Server was kind and attentive.

I don’t go to Stephanie’s for a fine dining experience—it’s convenient and I’ve never had a bad experience there so naturally I reserved a table for dinner with a dear friend when I learned she’d be in town (Stephanie’s required a credit card to reserve and threatened a $25 fee for cancellation). Never mind that, we arrived on time and had a half decent meal but were asked to leave as soon as we finished our coffee to make room for other guests...not a soul in sight and plenty of open tables. Wish this had happened prior to the generous tip I left...so never again Stephanie’s—you cooked your own goose (and it was dry!).

Overpriced compared to similar Newbury Street restaurants operating outdoor dining during the Covid-19 reopening. Limited menu with the dishes not accurately described. All workers NOT following face mask use requirements.

The host perhaps also manager judging from his extraordinary knowledge of everything in the restaurant- not that hosts don’t..
kept everything going so smoothly! We had a reservation and noticed how beautifully naturally Stephanie’s made everything look while also spacing out the tables AND sanitizing everything yet so it wasn’t obvious!

Our server was awful. Slow, forgetting our order and not knowing the menu. Other servers seem to be doing a much better job, so I think we might of got stuck with a new guy, but he was awful. Food was good, but menus should of had a better description of the food.

the food was amazing. We shared the burrata app- hands down one of the best apps I've had. For my entree I had a burger. Seems basic - but the taste brought me back to my childhood days bbqing in the grill. AMAZING. Thank you!

Honestly the food wasn’t that bad, I don’t recommend the clam chowder unless you like a creamy potato soup with no clams, the burger patty and steak didn’t really have much flavor, for its price they should be able to do better, on the other hand our server Stephan was amazing, very attentive and Friendly!

The server was incredible and the food tasted great. Was a little disappointed to see the portion we got for the price. For instance we ordered jumbo shrimp as an app but it only came with 3 shrimp, but there was two of us. Making it hard to split. Other than that it was a great experience and was so nice to be out eating again.

Had a lovely dinner on the patio. We were very impressed with the service and food since we didn't know what to expect after the quarantine closure. Didn't feel like they skipped a beat at all. Cocktails were excellent, food was wonderful and well paced. Staff all had masks and gloves, hand sanitizer at every table, tables spaced well apart. We felt very safe. Definitely recommend!

It was great to be out dining on Newbury St. again—albeit under strange new circumstances.
I’ve always liked Stephanie’s, and we had a lovely evening. I think you have adapted well to the new normal.
The food was very good except for the clam chowder. Too rich, too salty, not enough clams.
The distancing of tables and availability of hand sanitizer upon leaving restroom was appreciated. Would be nice to have had it available outside.
Pleasant service and very good host. Christian is both competent and charming.

I ordered lobster roll and asked the waiter for a side of fries, didnt care if it was extra. I got my lobster roll, I asked the waitor after 10 minutes where were my fries, he blamed it on the kitchen, long story short, never got my fries.

The staff were very friendly and the patio was great. The tables were arranged in a way that allowed enough space in between for social distancing, but also maintained a nice aesthetic. I felt pretty safe eating there. I went on Saturday at 2, and only the brunch menu was available, rather than the whole menu. The monkey bread was flavorful, but a little dry without the sauce that comes with it. Overall, the food was good.

Used to love this place, but it has gone down hill in the past year or so. Most recently, tried it again for brunch this weekend and was immensely disappointed. First, coffee came out cold. This was particularly concerning given that coffee usually stays hot for a while, so who knows how long it must have been sitting out. Sent it back and got hot coffee. Then, the food came out cold as well. Service was fine but cold meals is pretty unacceptable.

It’s not so much that the food is terrible vs the service. My server was inattentive. We waited 10 minutes for bread and beverages and our bread was cold and hard, not even crisp and warm like my expectation. It got to the point where it was necessary for us to leave and we had to grab a hostess for assistance. I’ve had better service at the airport Stephanie’s than here.
