   The food was good however we ordered a medium well done steak and by the time you got to the middle of the steak it was very very raw.. Cocktails were good though!

   Great ambience, food deals and always has awesome live music playing. I frequent this establishment often. And highly recommend for a relaxed evening or afternoon in surfers paradise. Convenient bathrooms and close to the tram.

   Everytime we come and visit Qld we go to Steampunk for date night. We love it. Staff are always and so is the food and drinks!!

   Really good food and service was a little disappointing to have a game of pool with the table pushed right into a corner however the general manager was very accommodating in moving the table out a little as it was a quiet night. Overall an awesome venue

    The waiter moved us to the outside when we had booked the inside, a communication error so my daughter froze all dinner. The cocktails have dry ice in them, I did not realise until I accidentally drank some, then read the warning in small print at the top of the menu, thanks so much for that, so did not enjoy the cocktail.

    Pizzas we’re OK nothing special, the cheese was a bit weird and minimal toppings. Great location, lively ambience - we went on a Friday so was cheap Fishbowl night. Sports on TV and a decent pool table.

    Very disappointed in the whole appearance of the place. I’m my opinion it should not be called steampunk. I have been punk for 40 years and it was just another pub. The vegan burger is horrible. Door service poor. Just another Gold Coast pub.

    Really disappointed with service and the quality of the food. Both used to be outstanding now unfortunately it was just average. I had requested a both as I was catching up with family I hadn’t seen in 17+ years and we were seated next to to the live musician, even though there are quieter booth at the back end of the restaurant. We asked one of the servers to be moved and were told there was nothing that could be done about it. Sadly, we could barely hear anyone over the sound of the music. Unfortunately we won’t be returning there any time soon.

    I booked our table for my son's 30th birthday. While we had a good night and the staff was great we had a few little issues. Our table was a little over crowed for the amount of people we had. Food was beautiful but a little over priced and waited a very long time for our meal and was not brought out at similar times. Will not use the food ordering app for our meals next time. Overall a nice place and the staff are an asset and should be commended.

    Had a great late dinner on a Sunday night. Not many food options available in Surfers after 9 so was very happy we came in. Food was great and good value (we had the monster nachos, it really is a monster serve). Was served by a lovely young girl name of Abby, service was truly excellent. Will definitely be back.

    Very nice restaurant with a good selection of food, drinks and cocktails. Did have all the fans running and was sat directly below one so was a little bit cold but will go back when we’re next at Surfers.

    We booked to go as the place looked very busy the night before. Upon arrival we were shown to our table. Ordered Adults and Children's meals. The entrees come out, then all the main meals. The adult's had finished all their meals before the children's meals had arrived. When asked, the waiter said, I'm not sure, I'll go find out. They came back to advise that the pizza's were delivered and given to another table. That they have now remade our pizza's and they were in the oven. We then had to wait another 15 minutes before they had delivered the meals to the children. They did offer another drink, but we were more or less ready to leave and go home. So I then asked if one of the pizza's could be refunded of the bill. They acknowledge this. The music was very loud, that you could actual find it hard to hear each other. Otherwise it was a clean, vibrant restaurant, although drinks and food menu were quite expensive.

    As Steampunkers ourselves, we were keen to try out this place. Nice steampunk inspired décor. Staff dress in more 1920s garb, but work in with the theme. That's about the end of steampunk, though. We wore some nice steampunk hats (which got a lot of compliments), but generally don't expect to see customers in anything but street dress. It's basically a pub/club, so the drinks and food are what you would expect - nothing exciting or different, but adequate and priced accordingly. Went on a Saturday night, so was crowded and very loud. Despite having booked weeks in advance, there was no table for us and we had to wait for 15mins while the (friendly) staff tried to figure out what went wrong. They provided a round of complimentary drinks as compensation. Eventually escorted us to a nice cosy booth and the remainder of our visit was pleasant.

    Look, it’s a bar, not a restaurant. Don’t be fooled by the fact that they offer food. Some of their food is great, some of it is terrible. Stick to the very basics and food to compliment the drinking, not the other way around.

    The young lady at the door was wonderful, our table was ready and did not have to wait, that being said had to flag down a worker to get the menu and the price of food was on the high side but was nice. Would recommend going here.

    Great night at Steampunk but was disappointed by the wait time. I had booked for 8pm and arrived on time, and our table was not made available to us until 8:30pm. Other than that, it was a great night

    The food and drinks were amazing as always however, I made a reservation three/four weeks in advance to make sure I could have a table where all my guests were seated together as it was my birthday dinner…when we arrive (after previously confirming the booking that day) we were told to split ourselves between two different seating areas (one in a corner and the other directly over from it, only allowing people to sit with their backs to the other half of our party…completely eliminating our chance of socialising amongst ourselves throughout dinner). Thankfully a staff member could understand my frustration and grabbed some more chairs so we could at the very least sit together (on a very small table considering it was holding a party of 9 people). Up until this experience I would always recommend steampunks, however this has made my view on the establishment completely change. Most important when reading this Review is remembering that I made a point of reserving a table 3 weeks in advance so that there would NO problems in regards to seating, as I said before I spoke on the phone with a steampunks staff member that very morning to confirm the booking and ensure everything would run smoothly for my special night and yet when we arrived we were chucked in the corner spread out across two spots, whilst watching two other birthday celebrations (completely accommodated for and with ample amount of room to enjoy them selves) happen in the back of the restaurant. Not a great feeling when you’ve paid money to have an enjoyable night and you can’t even see your guests faces properly because we are all sat 3 metres apart. Absolute shame that this was okayed in the first place a party of 9 people (who booked nearly a month in advance) shouldn’t have to be seperate from each other because of the lack of preparation by staff. Very disappointed to say the least and wish I was lying when I said it put a serious dampener on the mood for a while.

We have a very large & busy restaurant and do our best to accommodate everyone's requests. Unfortunately not everyone can have the best table and due to OH&S we need to keep access and not block walkways which means occasionally splitting up larger groups.     Love the aesthetic, service was great, food was delicious. Only complaint was the booth tables get very warm once a couple bodies get crammed into them. Not sure if better airflow can be implemented or air conditioning installed.

It can be a challenge keeping a temperature level that suits all guest and will continue to monitor the temperature levels. I would recommend you request a deck or outdoor table for your future visits.

    We were looking forward to our evening at Steampunk and enjoyed the meals and cocktails. Unfortunately our party of 5 were seated in a small very dark booth in the corner of the restaurant away from everything and this was quite claustrophobic. We were not really able to enjoy the ambiance of the restaurant and next time would request a different table.
