Great service, great staff, great food enough said
Probably the best steak restaurant in these part of Melbourne!
For my first restaurant meal in 3 months, the great rib eye steak & crunchy thick cut fries were excellent. Service was attentive & super friendly. A most enjoyable evening 😊
Amazing food, great staff. Had the wagu ms9 + steak cooked perfectly to medium rare. Best steak i have eaten ever so far.
The steak was cooked to perfection.Service as very good bit noisey but ok. My Kiwi guests enjoyed the evening second time I have eaten here.
A wonderful restaurant to celebrate a special occasion. We went to celebrate my son’s birthday and shared the tomahawk steak which between the three of us and it was outstanding and finished with the bomb. My husband also enjoyed the whiskey flight. Service is always outstanding and I am always excited when they bring out the specials display. Definitely a dining experience.
The staff were so helpful and accommodating for my dietary requirements finding alternatives allowing me to enjoy the experience along with the rest of the table and to top it off, the food was delicious. I would highly recommend visiting Steak Ministry.
My partner and i came in on the 14th of feb for Valentines Day Dinner and had a reservation at 8.45.
We were seated at 9.15, half an hour later and waited 30-45 minutes for our drinks which we had to ask about twice.
30 minutes after receiving our drinks, we then got our Entree which was amazing !
After that waited a further 30-45 minutes for our mains, by this point i was very excited for. Yet mine and my partners steaks were both COLD to the touch and the mushroom sauce was watery and tasteless. We didn't bother to call and mention anything for a few reasons, i had my hand up in and out for a little while before i gave up , we were also quite upset and didn't want to wait a further 45 minutes for it to be remade.
Desert then came and was average, but the way the food was presented was beautiful.
I have been there twice before this on fathers day and another separate dinner occasion and it was amazing, hence why i came back.
This time around was a really big and EXPENSIVE disappointment. I used to work in hospitality, so i can understand how busy and flustered it can get. But we were seated for over 3 hours and not much good to say.
We were really looking forward to this dinner as we don't usually do much for valentines day - forked out the money and unfortunately left with $229.00 less and an unsatisfied tummy.
As i mention, i can understand how busy this time of the year is but this is the worst experience i have heard a customer have on valentines day and have also experienced.
I would be interested to hear your feedback on this as i can understand it may have been new staff, shortage on food etc..
I really enjoyed coming to steak ministry in the past and hopefully in future depending on the response.
Thank you for taking the time to read this and please understand and try put yourself in my position as a customer.
In the past, Steak Ministry has been a favorite of ours and we thoroughly enjoyed the dining experience.
Unfortunately due to the experience we had on valentines day we will not be returning to this establishment.
Understandably the restaurant is busy on a day like valentine's day but even for a busy day, 60 minutes between when an entree and main are delivered on a set menu is excessive.
It was clear our table was forgotten about.
Once the realization had been made by the employee tending to our table, there was no admission or attempt to rectify this. Instead we were asked if we wanted "another round" of drinks as the entire occurrence was swept under the rug.
Once we received our steak, one of the steaks was cold and the other one was searing hot and drastically under-cooked. Clearly one of the steaks had been left under the heat lamp for a long time and the other steak was rushed. Quite disappointing when we're paying for the wagyu cuts.
Once we had finished our mains and a different waitress came to clear our plates, we were asked how was everything. the response was; "not great." The staff member ignored the comment and carried on as though nothing was said. Again, really poor experience.
Once we went to pay, we explained to the manager what had happened, he seemed remorseful and removed the cocktail charges on the bill, which as much as we appreciate the gesture, is still a disappointing outcome. There was no investigation as to what went wrong and 15% off a $300 bill doesn't make up for the fact our valentines evening was ruined.
Cooking technique has a little bit down grade than before.
The wagu steaks were delicious and melted in the mouth. The perfect medium rare. We had the potato mash and the carrots which were delicious and season nicely.
Food and service was great as always, never disappointed when we come to steak ministry
Food quality was not good, disappointed!!
3 of us shared our entree n mains
Entree - bread was not nice
Ribeye steak was not nice, the meat and taste not up to expectations
Pork ribs good but we should hv only ordered half rack but when asked we were told to get a full one which we didnt finish
Sides were disappointing
Service was good
Steaks and ribs were well overcooked.
Also their idea of onion rings is very weird - icing sugar does not belong on onion rings which also tasted more like a donut with the batter they use.
Not very good value for money when you pay nearly $40 for a steak that is tasteless when you can go to woolies and get one for less than $10 and it tastes the same
The food was good except for the quality of wagyu marble 7 steak. I wouldn't classify it as #7. I question whether the correct meat was used/provided.
Not only was the food great but the service was excellent. The venue also catered well for my grandchildren with their kid’s menu who joined us to celebrate our milestone wedding anniversary.
Had the wagyu package sad to say was very disappointed entree was the main thing chicken had a burnt taste so unless smothering it in the sauce was unpalatable and the lamb ones were very fatty and had no layering of flavour actually no flavour at all wouldn’t advertise them as a signature the main was a bit better but why bother putting tomatoes in the salad if they have no flavour. Husband goes with his mates quiet frequently so thought I would go this time but I doubt I will be going again and for all the couples to be sat next to 3 different tables of young kids maybe look at your table layout as that could of been easily avoided the lovely lady with the American accent we had was all that stopped me complaining at the time she was very good
Very great food and good atmosphere. Been here lots
Service was great. The steak was not great though, way over priced for the quality of steak / meat served.
My steak was inedible due to the amount of grissle, however they did take mine off the bill. All the other steaks at the table were way over cooked, this is after waiting over an hour for the food. Wouldnt have minded if the food was okay.
I have worked as a chef for over 20 years, and I know what good quality meat should be, this wasn't.
Thought the food was great and service all good. Would recommend.
4 orders and took a little longer than expected to be served. BUT the first bite into my rib-eye and the wait was well worth it. All four in the table liked their cuts and the each was done correctly as ordered.
Will need to go back again.
If you enjoy good quality meat, this place offers you good variety of cuts and options on the larger portions. Pricey but the quality is top notch
Good food BUT there is a VERY STIFF POLICY about having the entire table to order the set dinner or none at all (ie everyone stays wit ala carte). Not a good idea and they were extremely non-negotiable about it. This policy is not written any where on the menu, but verbally advised only.
We had a fantastic night - the staff were as sensational as the food - an amazing place - we were a group of 8 and had a great time - we will be back thank you steal ministry for a great night
Booking was easy.
Staff was fantastic.
Food was overall average, steak was grey and chewy despite ordered medium. Not what you want in a steakhouse. Sides were nice though.
Staff were good. Ribeye was OK. Had better elsewhere but was OK. Overall a bit pricey for what we had but all good.
Dined alone, having 2 restaurants ourselves I normally do not write reviews. But the service and food were outstanding.
Food and service generally good. Room was a little cramped and noisy. Background music to loud.
The steak was badly done & hard. Not befitting to the price paid. Won’t come again.
Food is great as always, however the experience was somewhat diminished by overly load intoxicated patrons who were continuously served alcohol although clearly drunk, load and noticeably bothering my girlfriend, myself and neighboring patrons.
I hope you practice better RSA guidelines in the future
The service was excellent. Very attentive and knowledgeable staff and a solid drinks menu. We made the mistake of going for the lower cost steaks. I would recommend trying for the more costly options as that is where (I think) you will notice the difference for the price.
Steak was ordered medium but probably came out as medium well. Dessert was exquisite
Food was okay, but not exceptional. Cheaper at Notting Hill steak house which has better food. Pork crackling wasn’t really cracking, it was like a pawn cracker from a Chinese Restaurant. Overall $250 for two people was way overs, it was only worth half that
enjoyed the food and company, recommend it for special occasions
Was an ok tasting steak but incredibly small left hungry
service is great, food is fresh and the drinks cold.
Really overpriced. Paying top dollar and getting average cooked steak and below average table service. I regularly eat at squires loft and meat and wine co - they are miles above the ministry.
We have been before and this time decided to get the tommer hawk steak and share between the four of us, as suggested.
There was not 1.2kg of meat on it and I feel we were misled as the weight clearly included the bone.
The head waitress was extremely rude and made us feel that we were a hassle, not great customer service.
The food was amazing, but rge cocktails were absolutely amazing and i loved the ambience and decor. Highly recommended for a special occasion
Excellent quality food and presentation of meals. Will return purely based on the food. Wait staff not exactly friendly and had to be reminded to bring drinks and cutlery that we had directly asked them for.
