We always have a wonderful experience here! The food is easily accessible but elevated and delightful. Servers are all phenomenal, easy to talk to and knowledgeable. Everything is made in house with a lot of care into everything they do. This is a gem of a place.
Steadfast has cusine that is unique compared to other Loop restaurant choices. The area of the restaurant enclosed with glass is ideal in terms of noise level, able to have a conversation. Would recommend for lunch.
Steadfast is in fact a hotel restaurant but it does not feel like it. It was very quiet on the Saturday evening we were there, in fact apart from a couple at the bar, there was nobody. It is strange as the decor is beautiful, the service was excellent and the food was outstanding (especially the bread basket!).
Hopefully on other nights it will be a bit more lively as we will certainly come back here.
Very bad experience with the dish I ordered. It was inedible. I contacted the restaurant but am waiting to hear back.
The bread was fantastic. We were seated by the open kitchen which was super loud and hot. I wish we had asked to move. Nothing was terribly wrong but nothing was that great either. I ordered the steak bordelaise medium rare. Which looked right but tasted well done though the sauce was amazing. I guess for a hotel restaurant it is very good. But compared to what the Chicago food scene has to offer, it’s definitely mediocre. If you’re not a serious foodie, you will be fine.
Service was very slow and food was cold.
Everything about this place was amazing. The food and the service kept getting better as the night went on. You won’t leave hungry, and you won’t want to leave. Simply amazing!
Fantastic all around! Must haves are: large homemade bread basket, duck egg carbonara, salmon almondine, pork shank. The desserts are named after the major flavor profile of the dish. The Apple was spectacular but the Corn, Pumpkin, and Grape were also delicious. Order a few and pass them around the table for best effect! My family will definitely be back!

Great food and really beautiful setting. The menu was diverse and had something for everyone.
Great atmosphere, good food and service. Had a good energy and is very nice without any pretention.
Both sandwiches were very tough and hard to eat. The tables were too close together, impossible to have a private conversation. The French fries were very good.
I was disappointed. I went for restaurant week, but they require the entire table to participate. I have not encountered that anywhere else during restaurant week. My guest could not part take in the menu, so I had to skip it and that was the reason I picked the restaurant. Had that been disclosed, we would not have gone and then felt we were stuck.
Food was good overall, but chicken added to salad was dry. Dessert was tiny.
The butternut squash soup was delicious. The Ruben Sandwich meat was grisly couldn't eat and had to return it. Very accommodating to that and I ordered a steak sandwich, very good. One other person with us had to return the steak sandwich because it was not cooked as she asked. The staff was very accommodating and friendly.
I gave it a low rating because the pastrami was so tough I was unable to eat it. Our waiter only came around once so I couldn't ask him to bring me something else. The other food that my dining partners ate was fine. I was disappointed.

This was a good choice for restaurant week. All three courses were great.
I liked my meal and the service was top notch but I paid $10 to have 2 ounces of salmon added to my salad. They also sat me next to angled wall just inside the door that made it difficult for me to get in and out and sit squarely at the table. Good food and drink, great service, but not in line with what I paid.
Our lunch at Steadfast on Friday was okay, but not better than okay. The space was raucously loud when we arrived, but as the lunch crowd emptied out, it became reasonably quiet. I would not go to this restaurant at the height of lunch hour due to the noise level. The food was okay. I had the lobster roll, which was small and ordinary and came with a lot of French fries. To the point that I felt like I was having French fries for lunch. My friend had the soup, which he said was good, and a Greek salad, which was again okay but nothing special. I would not run back to Steadfast - it used to be better.
It's shiny and new and the staff are nice enough. I don't know how any business gets done over lunch, it is so loud inside, and I assume that's their primary audience during the week. The chicken served with salads was weird, it was like a pesto chicken served with every salad offering. Strange. But I ate it, and the chicken was cooked well.
Really enjoyed Steadfast. The staff was attentive and friendly. Food was delicious.

Nathan, the server, was fantastic. He was very knowledgeable of the menu - a real pro.
This restaurant was fine. The menu was fine. The food was a little too fru-fru, especially the dessert.
Overall, not a bad place, but plenty others are better and a better value.
Our waiter was incredible. I would definitely eat there again.

Holiday dinner with friends
We had two starters each and the food was wonderful. Lobster tartine and mushroom blanquette for me and salmon rillettes and duck egg carbonara for my husband. Dan served us and was on top of details as always. Love this place.
Super loud and dense. Food good. Service solid. Had some challenges with reservation.
Overall would not return. Slow service although friendly, we were in a rush a shared that with the waiter, but they still messed up an order and neglected to pay close attention to an allergy. Great ambiance though!!

The pork shank melted in my mouth.
Waygu was also amazing!!
Of course the dessert was fantastic as always.
Tried the Corn this time.... too good for words.
Excellent service, food, & wine. I miss the caviar service they had in the past, though.
