Fantastic food and drinks. Great service. Will most certainly return.
This was a good choice for restaurant week. All three courses were great.
I liked my meal and the service was top notch but I paid $10 to have 2 ounces of salmon added to my salad. They also sat me next to angled wall just inside the door that made it difficult for me to get in and out and sit squarely at the table. Good food and drink, great service, but not in line with what I paid.
Our lunch at Steadfast on Friday was okay, but not better than okay. The space was raucously loud when we arrived, but as the lunch crowd emptied out, it became reasonably quiet. I would not go to this restaurant at the height of lunch hour due to the noise level. The food was okay. I had the lobster roll, which was small and ordinary and came with a lot of French fries. To the point that I felt like I was having French fries for lunch. My friend had the soup, which he said was good, and a Greek salad, which was again okay but nothing special. I would not run back to Steadfast - it used to be better.
It's shiny and new and the staff are nice enough. I don't know how any business gets done over lunch, it is so loud inside, and I assume that's their primary audience during the week. The chicken served with salads was weird, it was like a pesto chicken served with every salad offering. Strange. But I ate it, and the chicken was cooked well.
Really enjoyed Steadfast. The staff was attentive and friendly. Food was delicious.
Attentive and friendly waiter, fabulous food, would definitely visit again when visiting Chicago
They didn’t have any pastries or waffles available and it was brunch!
Nathan, the server, was fantastic. He was very knowledgeable of the menu - a real pro.
This restaurant was fine. The menu was fine. The food was a little too fru-fru, especially the dessert.
Overall, not a bad place, but plenty others are better and a better value.
Our waiter was incredible. I would definitely eat there again.
Great place to go when traveling to Chicago
Holiday dinner with friends
We had two starters each and the food was wonderful. Lobster tartine and mushroom blanquette for me and salmon rillettes and duck egg carbonara for my husband. Dan served us and was on top of details as always. Love this place.
Super loud and dense. Food good. Service solid. Had some challenges with reservation.
Overall would not return. Slow service although friendly, we were in a rush a shared that with the waiter, but they still messed up an order and neglected to pay close attention to an allergy. Great ambiance though!!
Started out with the artisan bread.
The pork shank melted in my mouth.
Waygu was also amazing!!
Of course the dessert was fantastic as always.
Tried the Corn this time.... too good for words.
Excellent service, food, & wine. I miss the caviar service they had in the past, though.
The Duck is a must have! Staff is incredibly well-studied on the menu and ready to make recommendations that aren’t just careless up-sells. Fantastic food and a lovely way to spend your time if you find yourself downtown.
Only a couple blocks away from the Christkindlemarket (seasonal recommendation) if you’re looking for a place to grab a bite after being warmed up by some cider and mulled wine!
I met a friend for lunch on 11/22. We both ordered the exact same thing. After waiting a considerable amount of time, the waitress brought us food, but it belonged to the couple sitting next to us, who had arrived long after we did. It wasn’t until then that the waitress realized our order had been forgotten. Fortunately, we didn’t have tight time constraints. The food finally arrived - the cheeseburger and side salad were amazing. At no time did a manager come to our table to apologize and no one offered us a complimentary drink or dessert. When the bill arrived, we were charged the full amount. Maybe we should have escalated the situation ourselves, but really shouldn’t have had to.
Unfortunately the salmon was really greasy which made us not feel well after. Service was very good.
Food was delicious, as usual
Food and service was outstanding!
My only complaint is that the waiter brought us more appetizers than necessary for the number of people - hence inflating the bill and wasting food. My fault for leaving it up to him but I hate feeling like I was taken advantage of.
My favorite restaurant in the US and I travel a lot. The same servers for the past couple of years so it is nice that they recognize me. Stay at The Gray...eat at Steadfast (the Pork Shank is to die for).
Ambience was great and server was friendly but it took forever and we weren’t given much explanation.
Exquisitely delicious food, wonderful service, and a darkly elegant dining room with understated good design! We ordered the breads, wild mushroom blanquette, salmon amandine, pork shank, and trio of sorbet, and enjoyed them all. The complimentary pre-dessert of pear sorbet was a lovely surprise, as was the post-dessert of 4 little pastries/candies served in a cacao pod.
Everything was great flavor but both of us asked for eggs over medium and they were a little over cooked. Great flavor though.
Amazing dinner, service and atmosphere!
There was a napkin / Clorox whip type cloth in our salad. Before that came out. It took 40 min for our food to come out.
Worst brunch spot in Chicago by a mile.
The menu seemed to value novation over taste. It would be nice to see some classic entrees and sides.
A little disappointed- we hope for their chef tasting menu and they were changing seasons so it wasn’t available. Menu different than on website. Served draft Urquell in a small water glass instead of a Pilsner glass. Bread course was intriguing and good (although the flavored butters tasted like they were made with margarine) . Clams casino was tasty. Ambiance is lovely - expected to have an amazing farm to table dinner experience - but went somewhere else for our entree. .
Absolutely loved Steadfast. Beautiful room, good for conversation, great old fashion. The octopus appetizer was delicious. The roast pork lovely. I asked for extra vegetables and was offered roasted Brussels sprouts which were very good and nice with the pork. Our server was delightful and efficient. I wish I could remember her name.
Best brunch ever! Great personable service and the food tasted amazing! I highly recommend eating here.
Everything was great but it was very loud.
Love this place. The duck is amazing. The charcuterie is one of the best.
Overall, very good experience. Thanks.
Great sandwiches. Perfect place for a business lunch.
It was average. Nothing special
