The magnificent Stamford Park Homestead was built in 1882 by the entrepreneurial Row family as a Gentleman’s Residence. After many years of neglect, the homestead and six acres of grounds have been aesthetically restored, allowing it to once again become the ‘Jewel in Knox City’.

Stamford Parks current custodians, have waved their ‘whimsical’ magic of both design and true hospitality over the beautiful estate and it is now a stunning property serving the public for what it was originally intended – a place to gather, meet, entertain and unwind.

    We visited and it was the most beautiful experience. We went for an anniversary celebration. The staff were prompt and kind. Food and drink service was fast. Food amazing.

    For the first time ever I was disappointed with the lack of service today, the girl looking after us (i.e. my friend and I) neglected us.It took ages for us to get a menu for our main meal & then ages for her to return to take our order. Again when we asked for a menu for dessert and drinks menu she finally gave them to us but she didn’t return to take our order.We couldn’t wait so when we went to pay she made the excuse that they were busy at the front of the restaurant and as we didn’t get dessert I only paid for the food we had. Even outside the place was noisy & cramped. When I booked I had requested a quiet table for 2 people.😢 Every other time I have had a meal at the Stamford Park Homestead the service has been awesome.

    The food was fare but overall this dining experience was poor. First of all we haven't been to the Homestead for a long time (pre covid) when it was a fine dining restaurant and the food was excellent. We live in Rowville and had dined at there many times. Firstly when we arrived at the front there was an intense smell of cigarette smoke, this is not a good first impression. When we were seated a child about 10-12 years old greeted us and offered us menus and water. We were extremely disconcerted by this and found it highly inappropriate. He poured our water and then he was attending to another group of customers that arrived. The menus were pub style plastic with too many choices. This style of menu is for restaurants who produce too many medicore meals. A good restaurant produces a few good dishes and concentrates on quality. There is less food waste in this method. Two of our group ordered seared scallop entree which were cold due to cold plates. The coconut sauce detracted from the delicate flavour of the scollops. Our main meals were served at different times. One meal (pizza) arrived about 12 minutes after the other two meals, therefore our meals got cold while we were waiting for our fellow diners meal to arrive. We didn't have dessert but ordered coffee and all three orders were incorrect for various reasons. The food was fare, inattentive and inexperienced staff, so overall this dining experience was poor.
