The magnificent Stamford Park Homestead was built in 1882 by the entrepreneurial Row family as a Gentleman’s Residence. After many years of neglect, the homestead and six acres of grounds have been aesthetically restored, allowing it to once again become the ‘Jewel in Knox City’.

Stamford Parks current custodians, have waved their ‘whimsical’ magic of both design and true hospitality over the beautiful estate and it is now a stunning property serving the public for what it was originally intended – a place to gather, meet, entertain and unwind.

    When we arrived it took them ages to find our booking due to their computer system not loading. We were left hovering in the doorway whilst this happened. Incorrect drinks were brought to table. Not the type we had ordered. Chicken Parma was cold. They “forgot” to bring the hot chips for the kids and when we asked they brought them out when we had pretty much finished our meals. The chips were burnt and inedible. Disappointing as we were looking forward to going here and it is a beautiful venue but let down by less than mediocre food and service.

    Beautiful old building, restored to its former glory. Warm, friendly, efficient service. Great variety on the menu. Can’t wait to come back.

    We had a table of four - two on the table order the beef ribs. When served they were noticeably different size portions. This order also came out at least 5 minutes after the other two meals. The food tasted delicious, but there was only 1 piece of meat - not great value for money.

    Dinner at the homestead was a fabulous feast for the senses. The architecture is rich and interesting. The artistic installations are unexpected and delightful. The staff were attentive, warm and accommodating, Justin in particular, made our dining experience a seamless one. Then there is the food. It’s saying something that I’m only now getting to the food. The meals were rich, hearty satisfying while also feeling elevated with surprising delicate flavours and aesthetic presentation that perfectly complemented the atmosphere. The Stamford Homestead made us want to explore. Explore more of the building, the grounds and the menu. We will definitely be back.
