We had a delightful time. Food was good and presentation unique. The music was very pleasant and that setting lovely. The wine was also good!
Good fun and generous food serving. Mel at cellar door was fantastic.
The service was terrible, we waited over 1.5 hour for our food/ drinks. Food was overpriced, $32 for a Wagyu burger - which was fine if it was indeed a burger, but what we got was a mini slider that was overcooked, burnt and tough. It was pretty much inedible. The kingfish tostada (3 pcs) but what we got was one tostada with 3 tiny pieces of kingfish - what a joke! Chicken fingers were basically burnt but as the kids were hungry we did not send it back.
They were clearly understaffed, unorganized and totally unprepared for their first day of re-opening. No one came to clear our plates or empty glasses, so we were sitting at our table with dirty plates and glasses stacked all around us. It was the same for the other customers as well.
Overall it was such a disappointing experience as we were all looking forward to having a nice lunch at a beautiful winery. Please review your menu and prices and also the quality of your food!!
We visited with friends from Melbourne. The planets aligned as the weather was perfect... Service was excellent and the food was high standard... the location near the Murray is pleasant.. family friendly
Beautiful surrounds casual atmosphere great place to catch up with friends groups large or small
We really enjoyed the day, thank you. Wine was good, food was good and music. Kids were a little noisy but they were well behaved just play noise.
Planning to come again!
A perfect setting to enjoy a lovely meal, especially lucky the weather was awesome.
We had a family catch up and needed somewhere with an outlook, good food and felt like an experience whilst being casual. St Leonard’s did all of that. The staff were friendly, my father in-law who uses a frame could get around, the food was great and the outlook fantastic. We will be back
Amazing food, beautiful location. Very much enjoyed our afternoon at St Leonard’s. Would highly recommend
The singing & live music was too loud, it ruined the atmosphere. The ambience would be much better if the back ground music was softer. The afternoon was very uncomfortable & we had to dine quickly & leave. My birthday lunch with my family was not enjoyable.
The experience was a little disappointing. Firstly, on arrival we did not go where to wait for service, Secondly when we went to collect the food, two of the four ordered dishes were not available for pickup (no record of the order at the kitchen) and thirdly, the steak (2 orders) were cold (we expected a hot or warm serving) and the fish pie was very runny (the potato thickened it up). Although the venue was fine and the ambience good, I doubt we will return.
A visit to Rutherglen to catch up with friends could not have been more enjoyable than sitting out on the verandah at St Leonards. Watching a beautiful bride succeed in her third attempt to get married due to covid helped to create such a happy atmosphere. We rated our food as the best meal any of us eaten in previous months and thanked the chef directly. I can't wait for my next visit to the district!!
I have to say that we were a little disappointed in the food and service. Menu was very limited and a little pricey for what we received. Wine was very nice though.
Friendly staff, delicious food and wine and a stunning outdoor view. Topped off by amazing weather 👏
Went for a Sunday lunch as a friend recommended the place saying food was really good. She was right, it did not disappoint. I booked through Open Table and requested Standard dining as opposed to outside as it was a bit windy. When we arrived we were showed to a table outside anyway which was ok as it was a lovely setting.. perhaps better than inside. We were told we had to order inside which was ok but then informed it was pay as you order. We were given a buzzer and told we had to collect our food. But much to our surprise the lovely chef personally brought our meals to us. They were beautifully cooked and presented. The staff were actually lovely and very friendly. Overall we enjoyed but it is more casual than most wineries which is great for families. I believe your furry friends are welcome to. Will definitely return.
Lovely lazy Sunday lunch. We were a party 6 and everyone enjoyed their meals. We had the steak, the chicken and the pasta with pumpkin. All delicious.
As always the food, wine and outdoor setting was lovely. Great value for your money
You have to have the moscato Spritz.Loved the relaxed feel of the place
Food was lovely but more expensive than advertised on the website.
Lovely ambiance but some staff a little stressed
Beautiful setting, overlooking vineyard and river tributary.
The food was very tasty ... but ... interesting. Consistency was an issue. Four at our table ordered the same dish, and no two were alike. Mine was missing a chief component.
Beautiful setting .. lovely wine and delicious food
Thank you to the St Leonard’s team for making our celebratory lunch with our friends extra special!! The wine was fabulous as was the food and the service. We can’t wait for our next visit! St Leonards Vineyard is an absolute must visit winery within the Rutherglen region.
A beautiful spot for lunch in Rutherglen. Would highly recommend to anyone visiting the area.
Fabulous food and service. it was 38 degrees and very windy but were able to have a table in the cafe away from the elements. On a better weather day you can eat outdoors under umbrellas with river views. Absolutely worth a visit.
Had a lovely day, even though it was very hot and windy, food was yummy and the wine was delicious
We had a really lovely lunch here. The staff were very accommodating. The menu was small but everything was absolutely delicious. A beautiful spot!
Fantastic location very relaxed great with the music as well
Excellent food and great service. Highly recommended!
Absolutely beautiful meal and relaxing atmosphere sitting out in the sun. Accompanied by some beautiful wine. Loved it!
Very relaxing dining outdoor overlooking the winery
The staff were sensational and we thoroughly enjoyed our Sunday Lunch. We will be back.
We loved the details in the food
Excellent choice of flavours, we look forward to returning
Great food, wine and music. Staff at cellar door are very knowlegable and friendly
We were given a voucher as a Christmas present and chose to come to St Leonards because the menu suited us better. We were warmly greeted by all the staff who assisted us in wine selection (something I know nothing about). We sat by the kitchen and had a lovely conversation with Jack the chef. The baba ganoush and lamb shoulder were excellent and just hit the mark. We enjoyed our experience.
Overall my experience was fantastic. So much that we are thinking of booking this as a venue for an upcoming wedding. It was a beautiful day and the food and music was amazing as was the beautiful grounds outside. The only thing that marred the day was that we had organised a table prior to the event and upon arrival found all tables has been allocated. I went back inside and asked if someone might be able to tell me which table was ours. We were told to go around and look on the tables and find ours. I stated that it was not my place to ask people to move from a table that had been reserved for us. The staff member responded that if it was in our name that that is what we should do and rudely dismissed me by turning his back on me and commencing talking to someone else. I thanked him for his help. Another beautiful staff member said that perhaps she could grab another table for us which was very accomodating. It is not nice that I have come away thinking what a prat that man was and i would hate to think he is so dismissive of other persons. He is definitely not the person you want people thinking about when they think of your great little winery
I highly recommend St Leonard's for a meal and entertainment. The ambience and service was amazing. The chef at the cafe was able to tweak a few meals to accommodate my gluten free diet and the meals were delicious. The seating overlooks the garden and the vineyards so you are able to sit back and enjoy a drink and partake in a variety of options from the cafe. We thoroughly enjoyed the music on New Years Day, top quality entertainment and people were able to get up and have a dance as well. All in all an enjoyable time at St Leonard's Winery and Cafe.
Great music great variety and quality of wine fantastic food and friendly and knowable staff
St Leonard's is a great place to spend a sunny afternoon. Terrific atmosphere and lovely friendly staff. I will definitely be back.
We were lucky to catch an absolutely beautiful day sitting outside at St Leonard's beside the gum tree, overlooking the vineyard. You'll find nothing short of gramworthy views, friendly staff, good food and great wine!
A beautiful setting, delicious food and wine and top staff. Our group of 8 had a fantastic day out, and a special shout out to the owner Eliza for looking after us.
Highly recommend visiting, my favourite winery in Rutherglen.
