It took our server almost a half hour after sat down to give us menus and we had to ask for them. We also had to ask for more water and bread a few times and he seemed annoyed. The hostess was very polite and asked us how our food was. The food was excellent!
Delicious food. Very accommodating. Look forward to returning. Thank you.
The food and service was excellent. BYOB is a nice added bonus.
The restaurant was very noisy. You could not hear your partner. They need panels to absorb sound. I would not return because you cannot be intimate in discussion.
While a favorite place - not this night. Private party closed off main room. Side room was so loud hard to hear ourselves and one meal was sent back twice. Will try again but make sure no private event is scheduled for same time.
Haven't been to St. Eves for some time. Mostly because we cannot get reservations at a time that suits us and mostly because I wait until the last minute to try,
Managed to make reservations for this past Saturday and the experience was awesome. Great food, great service, superb ambiance and I especially liked the woman manning (is that correct?) the coat check. She was super nice.
Our reservation was early. 6:30 and the noise level from the nearly full restaurant, was most acceptable. We were able to converse quietly and could actually hear each other without difficulty. Something my ears appreciate.
Over all, an excellent experience.
Always enjoy St. Eves.
A gem with wonderful food, service, and it's BYO.
Great food. Excellent staff. Consistently great experience.
We were there on New Year’s Eve. Pre Fixe menu but plenty of optima. Al looked good. Food was great as always.
Amazing service and exceptional food.
New Year's Eve dinner was excellent. Great choices for a pre-fix menu. Service was great and the food timing was very good.
We had a delicious New Year’s Eve dinner. The food and the service were both outstanding.
I Put a search for best BYOB in Bergen county and St Eves was 1 of the restaurants that came up. Seeing as we had never been we tried it and were extremely pleased with our experience. They have a polished staff that is there to make sure you have a pleasurable experience and let's not forget about the food. That was just flat out delicious. We will most definitely be going back.
Date with the wife
Food was delicious. Service was good. Would recommend. Am looking forward to going back
Great job on Xmas Eve dinner. Food and service never disappoint.
I am so grateful that a restaurant of this caliber is open for holidays like Thanksgiving and Christmas eve. The food is superb. The service is lovely. It is Byob, so you can spend what you want on your own wine. There is a nice liquor store right next door. But the food they serve is a work of culinary art.
I wish I could have found something wrong. What an outstanding evening. Dinner was spectacular and the service was a perfect 10.
Great food, beautiful atmosphere and attentive service.
My favorite place to go when I want a wonderful dining experience!
Food and service were excellent as always. Have been to this restaurant many times and return regularly. A little noisy when crowded but tolerable and worth it even with the noise.
Was not a great dining experience. Seating was very tight...they really pack them in...and it was very noisy. Being a Saturday night didn't help. I would have forgiven all of this but the food was only OK at best. The short rib special was quite bland and not quite fork-tender. It should have been braised for a few more hours and given some sort of flavor treatment (tomato, Asian, something). At $38 it was the most expensive item on the menu and, or course, the waiter didn't give any prices for the specials.
Food was abysmal - lunch of rubbery chicken paillard and tasteless overdone salmon. Salad dressing tasted strange. Lovely server - not her fault at all.
Amazing date w my wife.
Wonderful food. A little noisy but fine , wonderful workers and servers all around loved
Food is always good, but it was freezing in the restaurant! We were all wearing coats... turn the heat up!
We've never had a bad meal at St. Eve's. It's my favorite dinner spot! Always good service and excellent food.
We thoroughly enjoyed this dining experience !
Excellent restaurant. Really very good food. Friendly staff. My recommendation.
We were pleasantly greeted on a busy holiday Saturday. Our party of 6 had diverse delicious dishes over the course of ~2 wonderful hours. The beet salad and goat cheese stuffed bacon wrapped fig salads were tops as appetizers though our son thought the spring rolls were the best. The duck entree was sublime, the short rib raviolis scrumptious, the Flintstones sized lamb shank was fork tender and melted in the mouth, and the fish dishes were tasty too! The ice cream cookies and apple crisps were fab finishers for the meal. Of course, St. Eve’s is a byo and since the food here is so divine we paired the food with top bottles from our cellar. Chef Christianson- thank you for a wonderful evening!
The service and our Thanksgiving Meal was amazing!!!!! Our waiter was attentive and knowledgeable!!!! A great way to spend the holiday!
We have been to St Eve's a number of times and this visit did not disappoint. The oyster special was one of the best oyster dishes I think we've ever had - oysters with salmon a seaweed salad and mignonette. It was amazing! Our main courses of salmon and tuna were both cooked perfectly. We opted for dessert and coffee to round out a wonderful dinner. Our server Kane was very good as well - friendly and attentive. We will of course be back again soon!!
Consistently fantastic! Love dining here. Would
Love some additional seasonal specials (standard specials seem to rotate) but everything is so great who cares!
This was our second time at St. Eve's, and although the food was good, it was extremely over priced and the restaurant was very noisy. It was difficult to hold a conversation. The presentation of the food is nice, but definitely not worth the money. There are many other restaurants with the same ambiance and quality for a lot less.
Our friends got together to celebrate one of the girls’s birthday. The greeter welcomed us warmly & asked if we would like to check our coats. Our server promptly came over to introduce herself and asked if she could get us some water, tap or bottle. She gave us plenty of time to look over the menu & he went over the specials. The four of us shared 2 appetizers , the Thai egg rolls & salad & the figs stuffed with goat cheese and wrapped in bacon over a very light salad. Both were de-lish! Our four entrees were very good. I had the butternut squash ravioli which was good but the root veggies & Brussel sprouts in the dish were a little too hard.
They shared the Pavlova for dessert & said it was very good. Overall, we would definitely go back again & highly recommend it. (Even though it was my 5th time there.)
we have been meeting for ladies’ lunches at this exquisite restaurant for several years. the menu, service and atmosphere never disappoint.
All4 people had different dishes and each of us loved what we had. The waiter was helpful and asked the chef to make a house salad with blue cheese. It was exactly what he wanted. Desserts were very good as well. Will definitely come back.
Always consistently great food and service.
Great food and service...well executed, creative and delicious.
