A fun place to have dinner and hang out by Sydney Harbor. Food and service was good.
Great experience, lovely views. Would highly recommend. Perhaps a more child friendly kids menu would be the only suggestion.
Amazing views! Food is slightly overpriced, but worth paying due to the views!
We went to Squires Landing for our anniversary and really enjoyed our evening with gorgeous views of the harbour bridge and opera house. We had a lovely meal and a bottle of Prosecco and was served by a waiter by the name of Mitch who was fantastic. We would highly recommend this place for a Special Occassion, or otherwise!
The food was excellent! We went on a very quite night and got prime seating with an excellent view of the opera house.
Great views and food is good with a menu that should suit everyone.
Waited for a while to get the main course
Nice staff and delish food. Amazing view. Cannot be beat but a little $ as would be expected
We enjoyed the ambience, the noise level was good - we could have conversations without having to yell. The service was ordinary. My steak was nearly inedible- in fact I gave it to my husband who like raw steak. It was very raw and chewy- not what I expected for the money we paid. I did not complain, even though now I wish I had. The wine was notable. I would return for the ambience and the views but may consider the bar downstairs as the meals were over priced and of a poor standard and the service was appalling- I even had to ask for water a number of times.
Great venue with an amazing view that can not be found elsewhere! Staff were amazing, food was sensational! Loved every minute of it
Great place , service was fantastic, will definitely be back . Keep up the good work !
The food at this place is a little mediocre especially for the price point. The only thing amazing about this place is the view. You decide if you were more interested in the view or in the food. They also messed up on our order two times
A great spot for a nice lunch, where the menu has plenty of options
Sevice was slow for no one in the resturant on Xmas eve lunch time.
Always a great night going to the The Squire's Landing. The service is great and the food / drinks are excellent. Definitely a must try!
Food was fantastic both quality and size and was great value for money
Wonderful setting with views of the harbour bridge and opera house. Food and drinks great with attentive service. Good value for what you get.
Me and my partner came here for our anniversary and was not let down, the atmosphere was great, service was outstanding and beer of course was the best of all along with the view.
This was my second dining experience here with 4 friends. I found the service slow and somewhat laxadadical given the prices being charged I expect 5 star service. Staff were chatting, nobody at the entry to greet me. Despite booking far in advance we were seated inside a table back from the window and there was a birthday that had fully booked out the glass vestibule area. A ship was also in so there was no view. I was also surprised to see the balcony was for walkin burger ordering customers rather than for fine dining. For a $15 burger they had a much better view than us paying $40/main. Also the side dishes were appalling value. $8 for the literally 2 carrots. And share entrees, well they were not share worthy at all, they are just entrees for one. Best fix that terminology as it sets up unrealistic expectations. On the upside my crab salad was fresh and tasty and quite large.
Hi, unfortunately we were very disappointed with the food. The menu has items listed as “To Share” - we had ordered the pork belly, prawns, halloumi and the sourdough. We were shocked at the small quantities of food, which was dissappointing for the amount that had been charged.
The menu is misleading where the “To Share” would mean enough for at least two people to share which was not the case at all, e.g. the one piece of pork belly.
Our group of 7 had a lovely large table by the window. The service was polite and fast despite the restaurant being nearly full. The place is nicely designed and the water views are great. We just felt let down by the menu and the noise. It felt a bit as if the restaurant doesn't know what it wants to me. Given the large beer garden downstairs and the bar, it might be better to maintain the same vibe upstairs as the guests'noise levels are certainly more at pub strength than cosy restaurant. The food was ok but a bit bland. Overall, I would come back to enjoy a beer downstairs but in terms of food, there are much better restaurants at similar (steep) prices close by.
There was a boat blocking the view for the first half of our meal. The tables were so close together I felt like I was dining with strangers. We were brought the wrong tables meals in the middle if our entree. Slow service. Very casual feel. Food was nothing to rave about. Overall very disappointing for the price. $100 per person I expect better.
Great looking restaurant - we loved the layout and the view even though there was a ship in, it didn't worry us too much. Food was fantastic and the staff were very nice. Hope to go back again soon.
Wonderful view of the Sydney Opera House and Harbour and excellent service. One of our meals was not quite right but they offered to make another or give us free dessert. Very pleased with how they handled it.
Great restaurant excellent and well priced wine list. The views are a bonus. Staff are very helpful and there is never a delay to be served.
Very beautiful lunch location. Food was more than what we expected. We had our 3 year old daughter there and she was occupied by the kids activities that was handed to her and the scenic view. Truly a gorgeous spot, especially if you get a seating looking out into the harbor.
One meal was forgotten to be processing by staff
One need to be sent back
So disappointed with the dinning service on Landings 1st floor!
Putting aside the extremely ordinary $60 Morton Bay Bug dish, we came away so unhappy with the amateur service. You'd think they would inform you with a booking that you have to vacate the table in 2 hours, but I found out with 20 mins to go and food and drink on the table. It seems that one of my guests was told on arrival (since she was the 1st to the table) but they neglected to inform little old me...the host. So embarrassing for a business function to be asked to leave your table. Cannot recommend the place as a restaurant - it's worse than a cheap pub.
We love James Squire but to be honest the food was just OK. We had chicken which was a small portion. It was also dry and cold when we received it. I had some sort of cake which wasn’t memorable it was dry. I must have received the smallest peice of cake on the planet. Overall disappointing.
The staff were friendly & the food was fair, but I felt packed in like a sardine so tightly with the other guests it was unpleasant. The noise level was frenetically high and unless you were seated at one of the few tables by the water, the view was overrated. Probably a lively venue for a rowdy bunch (like the six blokes doing shots behind us), but definitely not the place for a special romantic dinner.
Not many places you get such a view combined with good food at a good price
Outstanding service and a great view! Would definitely recommend for a lunch with a view
We had a great time with a group of 6 people! The views and ambience at this venue are fantastic. Food is of high quality and is plated well. Portion sizes a little bit on the small side, especially the to share plates. Be prepared for $100+ per head for a good fill, but in a highly memorable location.
Food is overpriced and we waited an hour for our main courses.
Lovely view & ambience though!
Great place to go if you want a fabulous view of the harbour and great food at a good price!
I also booked last minute and still got a great table especially when the cruise ship left!!!
The deserts are beautifully presented and yummy!
Will be back!
Great atmosphere. Food was average. Chicken was dry and chewy .
As a regular to eating and drinking in Circular Quays, it is always nice to get away to the other side from where all the main restaurants are and try this upbeat restaurant. The views when the crews ship is in is not great but it adds to the ambuiance off the place as people talk about the size of these giant ships and then by 6-7pm they finally start to reverse out of the Harbor, leaving the stunning view of the Opera House.
The food and drink is good and of reasonable price for Sydney and the service is very good.
The Squires Landing restaurant has it all! Amazing views of the stunning Sydney harbour, food you will remember, friendly attentive staff and very affordable. We enjoyed our dining experience and will recommend to family and friends as a must do!
Love love love, the view, the service, the feeling I got, the friendly staff simply amazing. A must visit place for both locals and tourists. See you all soon and thank you for your warm hospitality.
SERVICE WAS POOR, Food and Location Amazing!
After reading a few mixed reviews I have to say everyone is telling the truth. While it’s expensive (what isn’t in Australia) the decor and location is amazing! My food was amazing but all of that was over shadowed by the lack of attentiveness and care of our server. Working in the industry for over a decade I know BS when I hear it and our server was too carefree. It took 25min and 3 request for drinks, I wasn’t able to substitute a side due to a busy kitchen (restaurant was 40% full at best), she should’ve told the truth that their head chef doesn’t like substitutions. She even asked if her rejecting my request was okay. We saw her a total of 4 times, however the server beside us seem to be doing an amazing job.
Overall visit was good but visiting again??
