Average service. The lady on front counter when we arrived was great but other waitress was rude and not very welcoming, made you feel like you were a hindrance. Food was tasty apart from getting served white bread on a Gluten free dish. Wouldn’t go back!

Good food. But annoyingly the waitress took our order and then proceeded to take another 4 tables orders (some which were large and indecisive) before entering ours in the system. Stupid!!! This puts pressure on the kitchen and bar staff then as all orders go in together not to mention us being so frustrated that we are not even getting a drink while she takes so long to get all the orders.

The food at Spero is excellent and did not disappoint. Large serves and loved by all in the family. The problem was they were seriously understaffed. The team were doing their best but we felt sorry for them as it seemed they could have done with at least 50% more hands. This one is for management, not the poor team on the day- your venue and food is great but the vibe & experience is tainted by the stress in the air when the team are drowning. We certainly recommend giving Spero a go and we will be back for sure. Hope to see a lot more smiling faces.

The food was absolutely beautiful so fresh. It’s a beautiful spot looking out onto the water. The customer service was okay It seems like the waitress we had when we ask her a question she seemed rude or annoyed at us that the food was beautiful. The restaurant beautiful. The outlook on the water is beautiful.

We booked in for 7:45PM on Saturday & it took 10 minutes to be seated. Not a great start, but not a deal breaker. We were sat and told who would be taking looking after us for the evening, handed menus & got comfortable. We then waited 25 minutes for our waitress to come and take our orders. We gave up at this time, and left the restaurant. We tried to make eye contact & get the attention of someone working but we were ignored. We weren't rude & just got up and left, the hostess thanking us as we left. Very disappointed. We were prepared to drop a lot of money on a dinner here and ended up at another restaurant where we were taken care of quickly.

The food was good, but our service was very slow. We arrived at 12 noon and were not offered drinks for 20mins, then they took 30mins to get the drinks to the table. We then had to search someone out to take our food orders and they didn’t arrive for around 35 minutes or more. Most of the other tables were served and gone before ours and we were told that they like to clear out the small groups quickly. We had a table of ten for a 70th birthday celebration and were left waiting until the place was almost empty. Very disappointing.

We have visited Spero many times over several years and always found the service and food to be excellent. Last night however the service was not up to the usual standard. We were left waiting a very long time for our drink order to be taken and it then took a long time for the drinks to arrive. Our bottle of white wine was warm, but it had taken so long to get that I was loathed to send it back. Nobody with any experience deemed to be in charge. On a positive note the food was excellent.

Unfortunately it was nearly 25 minutes from when I sat down until someone come over to take my order and nearly 40 minutes before my first drink and my meal arrived together.

Slow service and it felt like the staff didn't want to be there. The best service we received was from the manager just before we were about to leave. Food ordinary, overpriced and very salty. Disappointed once again on our second visit. Unfortunately, no third chances - we won't be back.
