Amazing bbq! Sadly seating is very uncomfortable. Had a party of 6 and we were wedged in the middle
Of the restaurant in uncomfortable chairs. Very loud and at times hard to get your server’s attention.
This is our second time dining at Southern Table. I came back a second time with friends. The ambiance is fabulous with its country meets industrial vibe! The service was very good, and the food was delicious! However, it was loud! Couldn't enjoy normal conversation with my friends and couldn't hear the cool music that was playing.
Overall it was a good experience.
Love this place!
Great food and service. The only problem is the noise and the music..blend of techno/club music which is too loud. As people talk louder over the music it seemed they would just turn the music louder.
Fried green tomatoes and hush puppies were ok, the soft shell crab wasn’t great.
The food is absolutely delicious. Be sure to make a reservation well in advance as they do get fully packed.
We found the food to be just ok. I was really looking forward to the fried chicken, it was very tender but the coating was very bland. Our waitress didn’t come over once to see how the food was after our appetizer, dinner or dessert. She wasn’t very friendly and overall provided poor service. The room at 6:15 pm was extremely loud.
We enjoyed our food very much. However in spite of having a reservation, we were seated very close to the door. Every time patrons came in and out (which was often), we were blasted with cold air. The restaurant was very loud. It was pretty full with diners, but additionally the music was just way too loud. Our server was terrible. When we asked for another minute to decide, she came back almost 10 minutes later. Other staff delivered all of the food that we ordered. Our server did not return at all to ask how the food was, or if we needed anything. I looked around for her a few times, hoping for a refill on my drink, and she was nowhere to be found. As I mentioned above, the food was excellent. Sadly the restaurant was too cold and too loud. And our server was not what we should be able to expect from a restaurant with this price point.
Really nice building. Good concept. I would tweak some things on the menu but overall really impressed. Want to come back and try more items on the menu. The creme brulee was not good at all.
The best fried chicken anywhere.
Really. good. fried. chicken. We went for a friend's birthday and overall the restaurant is excellent. We had to wait a little for our table but the staff were all extremely friendly and helpful. It's a bit noisy there with the large bar but not unbearable. I went with the fried chicken, corn bread, hush puppies, and slaw. All were delicious. I remember hush puppies being a little smaller than the ones they served but nonetheless were very good. Portions were generous and I ended up taking home enough for another meal the next day. Overall a great experience and I'd love to go again to try other things on the menu...but I'll probably end up ordering the fried chicken again!
Loved this place! The deviled eggs and wings were amazing. As was the rib entree. A little too loud of course but small price to pay for great food.
Food is very consistent when we come and full of wonderful flavors, well balanced. Staff is very attentive and friendly. A nice selection on the menu as well as drinks and beverages.
The food and service was wonderful
Felt like I was in the south!
This is a new hot spot for us. Great food and lively atmosphere. Food is great so can’t go wrong. If don’t like noisy restos might be a negative for some on weekends.
We've been wanting to try this restaurant for quite a while but we shied away because of reports that the parking was difficult in that area. My friend who went with me is handicapped. When we went we used the valet parking and the parking man was great. We had a 5pm res. so it was quiet but by the time we left it was so noisy we couldn't hear one another. This is typical at most restaurants these days and it won't turn me off; will just go early as we did. Our waiter Anthony was great! We never felt rushed at all; he was courteous, very familiar with the menu and he was fun. The food was awesome! I hope you begin to give OpenTable points soon. Based on the fact that your place was packed solid at 7, it looks as if you can afford to. Will be back soon!
Great food, nice ambiance, amazing service!!
This was our second time back to Southern Table. We had a great time!! Food was amazing so was the service.. the only disappointment was that it was really, really noisy it was hard to have a conversation with the person sitting next to me. That’s my only quandary..
Second time there and both were enjoyable, but way too much noise. Couldn’t even hear the waitress telling me about the specials.
This particular night was my friends birthday but we frequent Southern table and love it. It just gets better each time you go.
Food was absolutely delicious! We had cheddar cheese biscuits, beer-braised mussels, lobster roll, tuna special, smoky ribs - everything was delicious! Other than being somewhat noisy, it's a fun place with delicious food. It's pricey but worth it.
I had the ribs which were excellent. My cousin had the smoked turkey sandwich and he liked that too,
Excellent prices for a nice lunch.
Southern Table is a fun, energetic barn-like place to have authentic southern favorites. If you don’t mind tables so close that you can’t help to strike up a conversation with your dining neighbors, it’s tons of fun with very large-portioned food. Even the cheddar biscuits were huge (2). It could be eaten by 4 po. Check out the menu & don’t skip the fried green tomatoes, Mac-n-cheese & the chicken & waffles. Service was excellent. Can’t wait to go back to try the shrimp & grits!
Made another reservstion. Can’t wait to try something else.
Loved the food here. Had the fried chicken and Shrimp special along with collard greens and hush puppies. The food was delicious but the portions are huge! They could easily cut the portion size.
Noise level is loud so hard to have a conversation but the food makes up for it.
The hostess did not seat us right away saying our table was not ready when there we many empty tables available so not sure what the issue was. We had to ask again to be seated after waiting 10 minutes and seeing other parties coming in and being seated right away.
Very attentive service and delicious southern comfort food. I will be back for sure! Love it!!
Love the decor and the open kitchen concept. The cocktails are exceptional. Really enjoyed the lavender infused vodka! The pottery plates are a nice touch. I had the shrimp and grits. 6 jumbo shrimp perfectly cooked on a bed of creamy, delicious grits. Wow! Try the cheddar biscuits- you won’t be disappointed. Have recommended this restaurant to everyone I know.
We, my wife and I, having eaten at Southern Table many times. Each and every time the food has been mind blowingly delicious. And when we dined there on Valentine’s Day, our experience was the same.
We were presented with menus within moments of taking our seat. Our beverages arrived within minutes. We were given just the right amount of time to decide what we wanted to order. In some establishments the wait staff hovers over you to prompt you to order. In some establishments for diners often tempted to hire a search party to find wait staff to place the order.
This time around we began with a humongous cheddar cheese biscuit as an appetizer, which was more than enough for the both of us and could actually be a standalone meal. Ample amounts of butter were on the side. The biscuit was delicious enough that it didn’t even need butter, although in keeping with the true Southern tradition, we absolutely feasted with butter dripping from it. It took about 10 minutes for the appetizer to arrive.
About five minutes after we finished consuming our appetizer, our main dishes arrived. I ordered the Carolina shrimp and grits with (as it was described in the menu) “tomato gravy.” It was a top shelf dish. The shrimp were first coated in a dry rub and perfectly grilled. The half-dozen shrimp were then placed the top the grits which were delightfully creamy (not gritty at all). The best part was that the shell covering the tail of the shrimp were removed. I personally HATE when I am served shrimp and it still has the tail on it.
My wife ordered the smoked ribs. They were phenomenal. They were marinated in a sweet and spicy barbecue sauce and served with coleslaw, a pickle, and grilled corn on the cob.
The serving sizes are perfect. We left the table feeling nicely satisfied. Just right. Very often one will leave an establishment feeling like Mr. Creosote (the exploding man from the French restaurant in Monty Python’s “Meaning of Life.”)
The wait staff is excellent as well.
Despite the relatively few patrons the acoustic made it very noisy.
Good time. Good environment at the bar.
Phenomenal food - some of the best tasting food my husband and I have ever had.
Absolutely fabulous meal with friends. Everything was delicious, the service was great and the drinks were fabulous. Best restaurant in Westchester, by far. We will definitely be back!
Excellent food and service. Very personably and friendly staff.
I was disappointed in this restaurant. I grew up in the south and found the dishes to mostly be inauthentic to real southern food. I think keeping it simple would be a better idea. Our service, though friendly, was slow and the noise level in the restaurant made it very difficult to talk at a normal level.
I really wanted to love this place but did not.
We had a very good meal here. The portions were generous, the pricing fair and the service first-rate.
We had the muffins, chili appetizer, burger (cooked as requested) and the Mac and cheese.
We went here based on an article in Westchester magazine selecting it as one of the 10 best new Westchester restaurants. It deserved this praise.
The service was great. The food was great.... except for one order. The roasted chicken was burnt. I still ate it because I don't like sending food back. But the ribs were amazing fell right off the bone. The fried chicken was delicious too, and tender in the inside. Our waiter was really nice and on point. Overall I would definitely go back but strongly urge against getting the roasted chicken.
Phenomenal food and great portions for your $$
Slow service though
Will definitely be going back
Food was very good, but they now Pumpin annoying club music, making or conversation virtually impossible. I like a place with a good vibe, but this was absurd. Don’t go if you expect to have a conversation with anybody
The Best New Restaurant in Pleasantville! Great service, food was excellent especially black garlic mashed potatoes. Can't wait to go back and try more items on the amazing menu! Everything was clean and fresh!
