Sous Le Nez
Amazing food, great wine recommendations. A large table were a bit boisterous, but I’d highly recommend the restaurant.
Love this restaurant and it never fails to disappoint. Food is always amazing and we have experienced great service everytime.
Always good. Enough said
A warm welcome, knowledgeable waiters, food delicious and portions no less than substantial, almost over facing you.
All in all a wonderful meal
The meal of the day at £30.95 is amazing value. The food is delicious and the service is brilliant. I and my friends go for a special meal to celebrate birthdays usually or when we want a treat. I can thoroughly recommend this restaurant.
Always a consistent and high quality experience at Sous le Nez. Have eaten lunch and dinner here on several occasions and have tried most of the menu - all fantastic. Great wine list to boot.
The 3 course meal and 1/2 bottle of wine is such an excellent deal when taking into account the quality of the food. I chose 2 Vegetarian options which is new for me, and I wasn't disappointed - the sauces were rich and beautiful, the wine was terrific for it's price range and the service was speedy with friendly, smiling faces. As for dessert, let me just tell you now - the Crème Brulee was other worldly good!!!!
The food quality is good, but not outstanding.
Whether to eat there or not depends on what you are looking for - it is very old fashioned and is the opposite of modern and trendy. Very few younger diners, probably needs some changes
Excellent meal, great service and lovely atmosphere. Great value pre theatre menu. Will definately go back and highly recommend.
A wonderful experience as always and the early evening menu is excellent value for money. We have been coming here for around 10 years and it has never disappointed us.
Really lovely evening. Our second visit and a special birthday treat for our friend who loved it.
I thought greatly improved upon when we went 9 months ago
We were made very welcome by lovely staff. Food was delicious and a fantastic choice of wine.
Good food. Expensive for what it was. Not welcoming. Felt soulless.
Good service except bringing the coffee too early (remedied immediately on request), and generous portions. Food tasty and well cooked although possibly lacking the delicacy of the dining we had recently enjoyed when actually in France. Was surprised that a 'French' restaurant didn't leave bread available beyond delivery of the first course so couldn't 'dip' into sauces. Good selection of wines, although somewhat disappointed that 'house' wines were 50% from outside France. I do acknowledge there were lots of a la carte French wines - it was the 'house' list I am commenting on also cheese platter contained at least 2 British cheeses, rather than all French.
We had the early menu, great value and lovely food
Fantastic food - staff are excellent really enjoyable evening.
Our first visit - celebrating our wedding anniversary. It was initially rather cool inside ( extraordinary drop in outside temperature ). Waiter quickly switched heater on and I was quickly able to take off my jacket.
Food was excellent - well presented. Super tasty and unbelievable value for the quality of food on the Early Bird Menu.
Service was relaxed and friendly.
Would 100% recommend and wee will return.
Just cannot believe it has taken us 37 years or wedded bliss ( LOL ) before we found such a little gem in Leeds
Excellent service friendly and professional polite personnel
A great little restaurant that's not changed in twenty years. The service was very good. The waiting staff were very attentive to our needs. The food is of a high standard and well presented.
Our first time at Sous le Nez, but it certainly won't be the last. We had the £30 menu, which provided 3 courses and a half bottle of house wine per person, with a good choice on each course. It was outstanding value for money.
I’ve been going to Sous le Nez for 25 year or more and I can honestly say I’ve never come away disappointed. The food is delicious and the flavours are sublime. It’s my go to restaurant for a treat with friends
We ate on a Friday evening and the place was busy. I had heard really good things so had high expectations. The food was good but not outstanding, would return but there are other places on my list first.
I think the menu had been reduced since our last visit which was a little disappointing but food good as ever and always excellent service
Lovely ambience (perfect for diners who want to have a good conversation). Staff were attentive and very pleasant. I ordered a vegan meal in advance which is probably not the best thing for a French restaurant. The starter was a warm salad and very dull. It had no dressing. A few salad leaves, walnuts and a bit of roast veg just lacked imagination. The mushroom risotto for the main course was delicious, creamy and flavoursome. The other diners in my party thought the food was wonderful so no complaints from them! Overall, a nice experience but I felt short-changed by the starter.
The food (Coquilles St Jacques starter, duck main course, selection of cheeses and coffee) was excellent, but being able to pair each course with a suitable whisky (Invergordon 1988, Springbank Calvados wood, Glenmorangie Port wood and Glenfarclas Family Cask 1961) made it even better. The staff seemed a bit rushed and slightly chaotic at times, but they were very friendly and helpful in between. I look forward to dining at Sous le Nez en Ville again next time I visit Leeds.
Unpretentious restaurant but did everything well. Good choice menu and an excellent, friendly service.
Great food and excellent service. I had duo of pork for my main and have to say the belly pork was one of the best I've had. My girlfriend had chargrilled lamb which was equally as good.
Would highly recommend.
Been on various occassions.always excellent. will not hesitate to go again.
The service was exceptional, unobtrusive but attentive. All 3 diners had the early bird menu: Brie, goats cheese salad & fishcake. All are highly recommended. The rump steak was cooked to perfection and the house red complimented the meal well.
We enjoyed a fabulous evening at Sous le Nez. The food was amazing and such good value for money. All staff was welcoming and friendly. We have already planned a return visit.
Enthusiastic staff, nice steak and peppercorn sauce.
The restaurant wasn't even nearly full on arrival and we were placed at a tiny table in a busy area. After ordering wine and champagne they decided to move us to a much better table.
The food was excellent but I felt the staff were fed up and wanted the day to end, no connection with the customers, which was a shame.
We would return, as long as given the better table.
The food was the best.
Fantastic French food
A nice place the food and service was good, despite the business. The noise in the restaurant was very loud.
Early prix fixe menu - absolutely delicious. Never disappoints.
Established French restaurant in Leeds with great food and service. Ideal for a business linch/dinner. Couldn't fault the food.
This is the second time we have been back in recent weeks. As always the service and attentiveness of the staff was exemplary. The food was very good - approaching excellent. We arrived about 6pm and it was already quite busy - nice ambience. We will be back soon.
Lovely meal, great value and ambience have recommended to friends
We dined after the theatre. Lovely day all in all. We are always greeted in a warm and friendly manner which immediately sets you at ease. The early bird menu has a great choice of mouth watering dishes which makes it difficult to choose. The lambs liver was cooked to perfection-pink in the middle. The vegetables are always beautifully cooked and full of flavour. My favourite dessert is the trio of ice creams_they are amazing and presented in a large teacup. Coffee here never fails to please unlike wishy washy coffees elsewhere and always with mints (plural!!). Recently went to a well known Leeds restaurant, spent a fortune and didn't get a mint with the coffee?!?! Honestly, if you want fantastic food in a lovely ambience with exceptional service, then you must visit Sous le Nez. We've been going for years and will continue to do so.
