The chicken burger was good, very nice seasoning. The fries tasted as if the potato was raw as the potato was hard. The parmesan fries barely had any cheese on there. The Beef short rib was good but did have a lot of fat on there. The atmosphere was dark, a lot of the tables had to use the flashlights on their phones to read the menu. I couldn't hold a conversation with my partner who was across from me at the table as the music was too loud. The waitress got confused and took too long trying to figure out who ordered drinks when there was only one table that ordered drinks (my table). Dine and Discover vouchers are valid on weekends (says on the website its valid 7 days a week and was also announced on the news when it got changed) but were told we couldn't use it there on a weekend. Won't be going back.

Really dissappointing experience! I'd been before and loved it, couldn't wait to bring my family back, but this time the food was really terrible. Ordered pork belly bites, brisket, beef ribs and some sides. To begin all the food came out at the same time as the drinks! And nothing on my plate tasted good at all, most of it was actively unpleasant to eat. Even the coleslaw was bad, how do you mess that up? Was the chef away? It was just yuck!
I felt embarrassed that we didn't eat it; the waitresses were really nice so we made an excuse and asked for a doggy bag which went straight in the bin when we got home.
On top of all that the live music was way too loud, and it was pretty cold inside (sure it was a cold night but i was shivering in jeans and a jumper at an inside table, so if you're going to risk the food, make sure you wear a few layers).

Never have had a bad meal here, good is excellent! Always the first reccomendation when new friends come up the coast!

Only complaint was they don’t take cash so we had to unexpectedly use our credit card in the night but food and waitresses were amazing. Love music was great too

Were really excited to visit Sounds on West after the renovations. Sadly, in our view, the place is way worse now than it’s used to be- there is no sitting area at the bar, our favourite menu item was gone (deep fried jalapeños) and the tables are so tightly squeezed together, we felt like it’s a speed dating establishment and any time now the bell we’ll ring and we’ll have to slide to the next table. The burgers we ordered were a massive disappointment- we used to LURVE the food at Sounds on West; but sadly, this time the food was hardly moorish- the buns tasted like Macca’s buns, the meat was cold and the meal was tiny. I asked for a bowl of coleslaw to top it up, and it was drowned in mayo. Will not be coming back.

It was great that the staff at Sounds on West were able to accommodate us at very short notice. We didn't arrive on the coast till 8pm, but we were able to get a great meal before the kitchen closed at 8.30. The staff were friendly and didn't rush us at all. The service was very prompt, the food tasty and the live music was great.

Love the new update to restaurant, looks fabulous. Staff are fabulous, helpful, polite and friendly. Music was wonderful, perfect to eat dinner to.

Lovely outdoor dining area with lots of greenery such as a herb garden and hops vines.

A little bit of a wait for food, but so worth it! If I could eat here every day, I would. Loaded brisket fries were especially surprising... although described as a side they could easily be a full meal! Really friendly staff too! Overall just a great place!

Disappointing. We’d been before the refurb and were so excited to get back. But it was a massive let down. The servers seemed entirely disinterested, it was 30 degrees outside but we had to ask for water 3 times, we only had one round of beers because it was hard to get their attention and parts of our sharing platter didn’t come. When we asked they said they had run out of those items so instead offered us some doughnuts for dessert. If we hadn’t asked we just wouldn’t have got anything, and the Mac and cheese had no cheese! Such simple things to fix, would love to see this place do better.

The share plate was more than enough for the 4 of us you just need some sides of salad or veggies to break up the meat as it becomes a little overpowering on the tummy

Just reopened they were short of food! Some menu items (eg 2 out of the 3 desserts) were not available. No doubt this is a teething issue with the newly reopened facility and will be sorted soon...

We'd been here once before - about a year ago - and had very fond memories of the place. Unfortunately, they're a bit rusty post-covid, but I'm sure they'll iron out the problems and be top notch again in no time!

Food was fabulous. Service was unnecessarily slow. We would have ordered more drinks and dessert but weren't asked - instead, the front of house staff were all having a chat behind the bar. A bit disappointing especially since there were so few people in the restaurant.

Lacking on the mood with no live music. Feel they should have some regular beers available for those not enjoying craft beers. Meat needed seasoning. Not bad by any means just some improvements to be made.

Service attentive and timely, table wasn't ready but only took a minute or two to get there. Staff lovely.

Mac and cheese needs looking at as this was the only disappointment of the evening.
It was colourless, tasteless, flavourless and insipid...sorry to say but I think that they forgot all about the cheese and left it on the kitchen bench.

We went for special dinner, the service was incredible fast. They did everything to make our experience memorable one. We ordered cocktails for the adults and they made a super special one for our little daughter, she totally loved it and felt super special.
