We dined outside. Plenty of social distancing. Staff was masked & gloved. Food was excellent-Guacamole, Eggplant Meatballs, Cocoanut Shrimp, Calamari Salad, Lobster Rolls, Steak, Churros. Everything was excellent.
I love Sonora.......the food, the service and the staff.
The entire experience is a delight and gift.
Never disappointed always fresh & delicious and the spicy ginger margarita was the bonus
Owner and chef was there to greet us, thank us for coming in and supporting them during this difficult time and even bought us a drink. Food and service were fantastic as always.
Wonderful food ambiance. I Would highly recommend this restaurant.
Amazing food and great service. My favorite restaurant in westchester
I came here for my dad's birthday party, having been here one time before with a friend. I made reservations through Yelp and to my surprise they have a pre-fix menu Sunday-Thursday and $7 sangrias! Everyone scraped their plate, including my nephew, who is a picky eater with his pasta! From my Colombia pollo organic relleno to the paella and steak, everything was superb. Just make sure your bill is accurate as I think some things are not automatic if you do not ask. Another highlight was the appetizer apples and machengo cheese empanadas were perfection! I look forward to returning!
Great brunch experience
The food was so delicious! We can’t wait to come back again. The service was great too, very attentive and professional. Great restaurant!
Always enjoy eating here, however, this time, the waiter tried to charge me $45 for a bottle of wine that was listed as $35 on the wine list. When I pointed this out to the waiter when getting the bill, he apologized, and brought back the corrected bill, only this time, he showed the wine to cost $40 instead of the $35 it was supposed to be as stated on the wine list. I pointed this out again to the waiter, and he made the change a third time, and brought back the corrected bill, although this time, he added a 20% tip to the bill. I was not happy, nor did I feel they should have "forced" a 20% tip on such bad service over the wine false billings. I cannot view this as an "honest mistake", and believe I was deliberately being cheated. This is REALLY BAD!
Simply delicious! Every tapas dish we ordered was excellent and surpassed our expectations. So much to try. We'll be back to try the other dishes that looked enticing. Great service, a little noisy, very good value!
First time there food was very good. Service a little slow and very noisy.
Excellent food and service
valet parking, great drinks, live music, really good service, proximity to the capitol theatre for shows. Try the grilled octopus, paella and mango martinis.
Dined on a Sunday night. Something was off. Service was slow as was food to come out of kitchen. Quality was off too. Never had that experience there before... even drinks were not as good as usual, also watered down.
Maybe Sunday not the best night.
I loved this visit to sonora. We had amazing tapas once again to compliment the delicious drinks. I was in a seafood mood so we split the gambas, Mahi tacos, octopus and branzino. Everything was excellent as usual!
Delicious food, very generous portions. The staff couldn’t have been nicer. The manager came by to check in our meal. Only problem - the Sauvignon blanc offered as a recommended wine was not chilled. When I requested an ice bucket they brought it with an insufficient amount of ice, so I asked for more. That shouldn’t happen. The staff also doesn’t know how to pour wine - they overfill the glasses and should be trained how to pour.
Otherwise it was a great evening with great food.
We love Sonora and go several times a year. The food is always amazing and the service has always been great - Antonio has always made our evenings memorable! The one downfall for this visit was our waitress - she got our order wrong throughout our entire meal - food had to be sent back and one person sat without food. Our desert order was completely wrong also and again one of us sat again without food. We also ordered coffee which came well after the desert and was warm. Additionally, we asked to take our food that we didn’t finish home and one of them was throw out and they had to made a new portion (which we didn’t ask for but did appreciate) for us to take. It was frustrating as we were their to celebrate a birthday but kept having to flag the waitress down to correct mistakes.
Sonora is an absolute must in Westchester! I always love dining here. The staff is so friendly and knowledgeable. I always come here when I am craving tapas and mojitos. I am never disappointed with the coconut shrimp, guacamole, empanadas, and the flatbreads.
Keep up the good work Chef!
Second visit and couldn’t have been happier. First time they were a bit overwhelmed on a Saturday night - we had to wait over an hour after our reservation time for a table but when the food came it was all worth it, which led us to go back on a much more peaceful Sunday night with our kids and a friend. What a great time! Food was, once again, amazing and the service friendly and professional.
Sonora plated each delicious plate like that of a high end restaurant but the prices were surprisingly reasonable for the quality we got .The combination of flavors in every dish was so delicious. Definitely recommend the Pollo Relleno. For dessert, you must try the dulce de leche cheesecake and churros. Service was very attentive and prompt. We will definitely be back to visit for a second time !
Nice night out and great food.
Tapas was great! Octopus especially good. Entrees could not compare in quality to the tapas.
We went for Valentines Day with a reservation for 2 at 8:30. It was after 9 by the time we were seated. Even though I checked in with the host as soon as we got there, if I hadn't kept going back to ask when we'd be seated every 5 minutes, they would have forgotten about us. There seemed to be no order for seating other than who asked the most or who was closest to the host stand. From what I could tell, there were about 10 reservations for 8:30, and they were nowhere near equipped to handle that, I guess.
I did notice that there only seemed to be one waiter, but lots of bussers, many of whom just stood around and didn't actually do anything. I saw people actually falling asleep at their tables because the wait for food was so poorly spaced.
Again, no rhyme or reason for how people were served. People seated after we were received their courses before we did. We ended up almost the last seating in our section because it took so long to get everything.
When we did receive the food, it wasn't even warm, much less hot. The person who brought the food still seemed to be under the impression somehow that it was too hot to touch, even though nothing about it, including the plate, was more than lukewarm at best. I also noticed that I another table even sent theirs back for being too cold.
The food itself was passable, but hardly worth the price being charged, which is maybe just a function of Valentine's Day, Idk.
We rarely saw the waiter, and that may be because he was the only one for the entire restaurant, but it did make getting or asking for anything pretty difficult. We took to asking for things all at once in hopes of getting them in a decent amount of time, which still didn't really happen. When our dessert was served, not by the waiter, my husband asked the person who served it for the check so we could just leave. She asked him twice what he was saying, seeming surprised that he was asking *her* for the check. Honestly, skip this place unless it's slow.
I love this restaurant but going on Valentine’s Day was a mistake. We arrived on time but they made us wait 25 minutes for a table.! There were open tables but they were not cleared quickly to be able to sit all the people that were waiting to be seated. They had a set menu but my husband’s pork was over cooked and my risotto was not cooked enough so it was hard. There was no choice for desert and the one they served was not that good. Sadly the experience was quite poor for our Valentines celebration.
very disappointed with a food the lobster bisque was very watery, the dessert lava cake was dry.
My girlfriend and I went for Valentine's Day dinner. It was our first time there. Even though we had a 7:30 reservation, we were not seated till after 8:15. They definitely overbooked. We weren't in a rush. The wait was worth it. All of the courses were delicious!
Will make a return visit when things are not so hectic.
The quality of food has dropped off considerably from the past. Disappointing.
Food is always fabulous. Their ceviche cant be beat. Service, ambiance all great!
Amazing. I will be returning!!!
Thank you for the incredible service!
Mostly delicious food. Steak was a bit fatty and tasteless, contrary to usual. Guacamole is the best anywhere. Chocolate dessert was delicious.
My favorite restaurant in Westchester everything is always great at Sonora
Great service. Waitress was excellent and accomodating
I was very disappointed by the level of inconsistency between two visits. Service, food, etc was compromised severely this second time around. The wait staff did not consider or value our time so we will not be back.
A welter of interesting flavor combinations. Had fish, fowl, & veggie dishes. All were inventive and flavorful. Delicious dinner for two.
Very nice dinner. I had the eggplant meatballs which were delicious and unusual, and my spouse had the squash tacos, which were wonderful as well. Great experience
Great food, service and atmosphere! Would definitely go back again!
Wonderful meal at Sonora. Great place for date night with lovely staff and delicious food!
It’s our favorite place close to home. Consistently good.
There is always something new on the menu, but also a lot of Latin cuisine classics. Everything is very tasty and fresh. They have an excellent and affordable wine list. Jazz musicians every Friday night and for Sunday brunches. Cocktails are amazing, and the staff very friendly. Highly recommend.
Sonora is my new favorite restaurant!!! Food is excellent, service impeccable. I haven't gone to happy houir, but the bar area looked like fun.
