This is my 4th time dining at Songbird and my experience there continues to be less enjoyable. Last night we ordered the swimmer crab noodles and it arrived to the table with the noodles lumpy. Disappointing when one is paying $99 for this dish! The service was very average. When we reported to the waiter that our dish was unsatisfactory. He didn’t know what to do!

Just a great restaurant. Excellent service, fabulous food and ambience. Wine always by the glass too expensive in this country. But Song Bird is no different to other excellent places. Recommend always to buy by the bottle.

Good food, good ambience but no wow factor. It’s a recreation of Jade Temple in Double Bay but not something to race back too

The food was only just warm. The chicken was somewhat difficult to eat with chopsticks. The pork belly was too fatty HOWEVER the peeking duck was wonderful. The prawns were great but only warm and the wonton again cold. I will be back but this is the second time I have been and I keep repeating the problems. Please listen to what we are saying. I want you to succeed. We have all been crying out for Chinese in Double Bay. It’s your time to shine.

We were impressed with the tenderness of the crispy skin chicken and the flavors of our dishes. Felt welcomed and had a very friendly and helpful waitress by the name of Jess. Good ambience and the attention to details are commendable.

We were not disappointed with our first visit to songbird. Expectations were high as we love Margaret, and we were very happy with our experience. The menu has a great range of options, duck wontons were a highlight of the appetisers, the coral trout was superb and noodles were springy and tasty. Good wine list with a range of options to suit different budgets.

Service and food only given 4 out of 5, we had the banquet menu and not every single dish was at the exceptional level come to expect from Neil Perry Restaurants. Saying that, we are definitely going back for the prawn wontons, they were amazing and worth the price of dinner. Service was attentive but felt sometimes stretched with us needing to follow up the tea service which leads to the reason for 3 out of 5 overall. The tea service does not provide for hot water top -up and given we were a table of 4 which ended up with individual pots of tea (all the same brew mind you) by the time we got to mains our teas were cold. In addition the noise levels from a full dining room meant we could only have conversation with the guests next to us and not across the square table.
