SOLE Seafood & Grill
Loved it. We booked in at the bar because there were no tables available when booking. But they were happy to accommodate us with a table when we asked. Really friendly staff and amazing food. 10/10
A nice fine dining place with good ambience . Seafood was amazing especially the char-grilled tiger prawns. A bit on the higher end in terms of price overall good.
The food was absolutely exceptional. The service was impeccable too.
Nice place. Excellent service.
Average food. Over cooked.
Very disappointed with our meal at Sole. Our waitress was attentive, friendly and helpful but the food was unexpectedly poor. Our table for 2 was on a corner on a service route. They were very busy. Calamari in tempura batter with dip was nice no garnish not hot. Second starter of scallops poorly presented ,not seared, sitting on white sauce no garnish not hot . My companions main was small strips of john dory ,overcooked and chewy, small portion . My own main of crab gnocchi I could not eat ,the crab tasted of tinned tuna in a watery broth, the actual gnocchi were dense and chewy ,no garnish ,poor presentation ,not hot. Bread with starters was 1 piece each of brown/white sliced ,with a smear of butter placed onto the plate. Only redeeming feature was the wine-a tasty Portugese douro ,cheapest on the menu I think at 35 euro.Taking out the standard cod, sea bass and salmon darne ,the choice of fish was underwhelming. I am left with the feeling this restaurant is overpriced and over-rated.
We left without dessert and bought chips on the way home. Will not be recommending this restaurant.
Also we inadvertently double booked but despite many efforts to cancel the bar places for 2, leaving messages on the phone when attempts online met with 'oops' we are sorry , no one returned our calls and the site berated us for not turning up !
Excellent food. Best food we have ever had in Dublin. Strongly recommended. It is expensive, but worth of money.
Ante was a Fab waiter so helpful and chatting with us. Can't recommend enough.
Food was spot on. We happend to be there for the early bird which was fantastic value. Scallops, oysters and calamari to start all were cooked perfectly.
Mains were fish and chips, mussels and sea bass again no complaints.... Only issue is we were too full for a dessert will defo be back
I really enjoyed the experience, the staff are so friendly and cannot do enough for you, very attentive.
Love everything about this restaurant, would definitely recommend it to friends.
Although I was excited at the prospect of a delicious seafood meal I was extremely disappointed. My girlfriend ordered the tempura which was the one good item we ordered. My tartare and gnocchi were not good. It was extremely rich and sickly and my stomach has not been feeling good since. There are better seafood alternatives In Dublin.
Sole has all the ingredients of a very good restaurant but it is not at a standard that can charge €29.50 for a main course special of the day. The halibut was nicely cooked but arrived on warmish mashed potatoes which I returned. The gap between starter and main was long and the waitress asked us if we were finished both courses though our cutlery should have clearly indicated this. The service and food need to up there game if they wish to charge prices like this.
Steak and Seafood grill which did not disappoint. Went as a group of 9 .. we were all taken care of quite well
Exquisite meal, brilliant service paired with sophisticated atmosphere and amazing food, will definitely return
This was the first time I visited Sole and I will be back here many times in the future.
Excellent ambiance, professionalism, service & food and all in a fairly chilled out casual environment. It's one of the best restaurants in the city for sure.
Thought our table was quite dark but I think there was a light bulb blown that would've lit the area, only noticed it when we were finished. Other than that, really nice and good value.
Four of us went for an afternoon dinner following graduation. Arrived before 6 so were able to avail of the early evening menu. Service was excellent, staff were very attentive and even sent over a small plate at dessert with congratulations without being asked to. The food was absolutely delicious. Sea bass was cooked perfectly, battered hake was lovely with a light batter, mussels came in a beautiful light creamy sauce and serving size was very generous. Panna cotta and brownies for dessert were also delicious, and espresso martini was the best I've had in a long time. Overall a great dining experience, will definitely be back!
Incredible food and service, a place where you can have an amazing night with comfort and a welcoming environment.
We loved it here! Great food, service & ambiance. Well done.
A proper treat of a restaurant, with the food delicious, service excellent, and the type of place you can enjoyably linger for a few drinks afterwards.
We celebrated my boyfriends birthday and the food was gorgeous! We had the 6 course tasting menu and it was just amazing. Great and friendly service and a surprise dessert I’m the end! Thanks for this wonderful evening!
Wonder space , food , & service . A warm welcome awaits you in this restaurant . Well trained staff who know the dishes inside out and give their recommendations . The food was exquisite from a chef who knows his craft . We sat beside an American lady who was returning for lunch after dining there the previous day . She was welcomed back by all the staff who remembered her and offered a complimentary glass of Prosecco . Now that’s good service and good business savvy . Hats off to all the staff involved & to a great restaurant that’s not to be missed .
The seafood tower is a must have!
The experience at Sole food & grill was delightful the service was excellent starting with the way we were greeted, Luke the front man at the desk was extremely polite, accommodating and had a very positive demeanor. The staff also very positive fast & helpful suggesting popular options etc on the menu. The overall ambiance & noise level was good and the food very fresh also served well within an acceptable time not to mention delicious. Particular attention was given to detail which we very much appreciated- Overall a very professional & memorable experience!
We'll definetly be back !
The hostess was somewhat rude to start with. We had a table booked for 21:00 (for 2) and arrived at 20:20. Spied a table when I arrived and hoped we might be fortunate enough to be seated earlier. The hostess appeared put out by the early arrival and informed us that our table wasn't ready. Accordingly, we sat at the bar and had a drink. Shortly before 21:00, we were told our table was ready. The hostess made zero attempt to take our drinks down to the table for us. We were then brought to the table that I had spotted earlier and had just sat idle for the previous 35mins. From that point, the waiter was very competent - polite and helpful.
Food wise, the Squid Tempura was overcooked as the the tempura itself on the some of the pieces was dark drown, overly hard and tasted bad - we didn't complain about this. The 12 Oysters that we got with the started were great. The Sweet Potato Fries that we got with our main course were overdone - virtually charred at the ends. It was at that point that I brought this to the attention of the waiter and he offered to changed them out - what was brought down was a notable improvement. The 1kg Lobster main course was ok but the tail meat was a bit overdone - just a bit chewy unfortunately.
Bill was just over EUR210 in total and no gesture was made to remove either the overdone starter or side from the bill. Overall experience was just about acceptable but won't be returning and unlikely I would recommend it to someone else.
Dear Luke, We listen to all our guests’ feedback so obviously we were disappointed to read yours. I am sorry to hear that you did not enjoy your evening with us. I am disappointed that you chose to go online as I have checked with your table myself and you and you said everything is great. The table that you saw sitting idle for the night was booked at 8:30pm by another party that cancelled whilst you were sitting at the bar. Since you were willing to sit down earlier it was offered to you.
This is 6th time being here service was outstanding food presentation and taste superb
Amazing! will definitely be back. Very impressed, the tables were spaced out so you didn't feel cramped, the staff were lovely and didn't hassle you throughout your meal. The food was unreal, definitely recommend the pana cotta. I would go back in a heart beat to try more dishes but unfortunately I have to wait till pay day! But well worth it 😊
We loved our dinner at Sole. It was our first night in Dublin, and we couldn’t have chosen a better place.
I just went for lunch with my sister but we ended up sitting here for over 3 hours and had one of the best days out ever. The vibe was very relaxing, casual, and it was amazing food and high service without any pretentiousness. We loved every morsel of our meal. We chose the set lunch menu but will be definitely back to experience the works. The staff were exceptional, there whenever you wanted anything but not in your face. They were warm and friendly but not too familiar, a fine balance but they had it down to a fine art. The food was superb, each course an experience. I will be back here again, and again I reckon and would highly recommend it.
The best restaurant I have been to in a long long time. Certainly the best in dublin. My mum isn't a major seafood fan but even she was converted after our meal here.
The early bird is good value as the portions aren't compromised and everything is just delicious.
We could have sat here all evening chatting away
Sorry I hadn’t been here before service was excellent and food was lovely restaurant had a great ambiance and I really loved the decor and bar area. The cleanliness of the rest rooms were exceptional. We really enjoyed our evening. I will definitely be back
Excellent food, ambiance, and friendly service. I brought my partner for her birthday and they even included a note and candle with her dessert! an excellent dining experience (if ever so slightly on the pricy side!) but you do very much get what you paid for. 5 stars from me.
Great service, loved the decor, oysters and brownie were to die for!
Food was lacking in flavour. Overpriced and way overrated!
Amazing experience - would highly recommend, super service and top class food
Had the smoked Irish salmon as a appetizer followed by sea bass fillet. sea bass was perfectly cooked with crispy skin. good wine selection. we had a Chablis. Ante was our server...ask for him. Sat near the window and people watched...in the rain...what else it's Dublin.
Have been there a few times, excellent food, attentive and friendly staff, good ambiance ( though a little bit noisy on most recent visit). It's not cheap, rather it's for that special occasion.
As fantastic as the food was, the staff were the best I’ve experienced in Dublin. Every single person we encountered was a credit to the restaurant. They couldn’t have been more professional or helpful.
The food was wonderful- starters to dessert.
The air con was up a bit high however after mentioning it to our waiter an adjustment was made. Once again an attentive staff.
As delicious as our first visit. Tried the John Dory this time- it was amazing. Will definitely return. Ante the waiter is so pleasant and hekpful.
Second time here and not disappointed. The food was excellent and the service even better. It's not cheap but well worth the money, especially for a special occasion. Really nice atmosphere and you can tell they place a huge emphasis on customer service. The staff were all very friendly and everything worked like clockwork. Definitely be back.
