Beautifully creative vegan menu. Melon and prosciutto is outstanding - highly recommended. Chicken Parmesan is also wonderful. Booked to go back in two days and will leave room for dessert!

We often travel to Melbourne from interstate exclusively to eat at Smith & Daughters. Amazing vegan food with plenty of gluten free options. I have often overheard many omni’s remarking that they couldn’t believe that their meal was vegan whilst dining at S&D. Customer service is outstanding and worth tipping. The feast me option is great. Highly recommend. The best restaurant I have been to.

Had heard mixed reviews but experience definitely exceeded expectations. Three out of the four dishes we ordered were outstanding, the other was very nice too. Generous servings, great vibe. Definitely going back!

We went to Smith and Daughters for our last night of child-free time (grandparents had kids at beach). We were totally blown away by the food, we went specifically because it is vegan but that is not a factor in the great tastes and fabulous food we got.
We went with the Feast Me option as we couldn't choose any dishes, they all looked great. The service was wonderful and we left feeling well and truly FEASTED and talked about the different tastes and flavours all the way home.
Highly recommend this place.
Note: I am NOT vegan, but this could change my mind!

The schnitty was so good that we had to go back a second and third time during our short week stay in Melbourne! Everything was amazing and hope to come back to visit again soon.

Everything was perfect but the meals (even ordering a main) were not big enough. By the time we ordered 3 plates to share and drinks we were still hungry but had already spent near $100

I’ve been meaning to come to this place since it opened and just never got there.
It was my partners birthday so i thought this was the perfect excuse. We got the feast me menu and a cocktail each and I must say it reached our expectations. Although my problem with this place is that it’s not good for a romantic night out as you sit very close to the table next to you.. and could hear everything they were saying. So for the price being in the higher range (which is fine for the occasion) it didn’t fit the ambience.
I will definitely be back again though!

Smith & Daughters was a vegans delight! Loved the food and the creativity behind the menu.
Service was friendly and prompt. Booked at 6pm and the only downfall was that it was a 90 minute sitting, next time I'll go later and not have the pressure to eat quickly but rather enjoy the food and menu more. However the 90 minute sitting would be perfect for a pre-theatre or pre night out meal.
Can't wait to go back and explore the rest of the menu, Highly recommend.

Amazing that the egg tastes so eggy! Bought the cookbook. There weren't many tables seated but all the seated tables were packed together while the rest of the restaurant remained empty. I'm sure this makes it easier to serve and to seat big groups if they should come along, but we were needlessly adjacent to our neighbouring table and one really woman feeling her fantasy when a Whitney Houston track came on. Didn't need that in my life or right up in my face.

Everyone can eat at a vegan restaurant. We had the option where you shared and tried lots of dishes and it was fantastic. I would highly recommend it. I felt that the staff were sincere and highly committed. Thanks again.

Incredible food, my parents were blown away by how delicious and creative vegan food can be. They also remembered to bring out a candle for my Ma's bday - a request made during booking - which was incredibly appreciated. The attentive and friendly staff paired with the truly inspiring dishes made for a great evening, will definitely visit again.

Great place

But, we reserved a seat and arrived on time and still had to wait for a table. It wasn't a long wait but they obviously don't reserve the table for you.

2 of the 3 items we ordered were great, the third was average and lacking in flavour.

We had to ask for refills on the water and weren't asked how the food was at any time. I expect this sort of thing with how busy this location can get so it wasn't that big of a deal but worth mentioning.

The noise level is pretty up there when a good amount of people come in, so I wouldn't recommend this place if you're looking to have a chat unless you get a spot outside.

With all that, the food really saves this place for me. So far we have only had an issue with one plate mentioned above, and even then it was still good enough to finish.

My sister has a dairy, egg and peanut allergy, and I’m a vegetarian, and so we cook a lot of vegan desserts. But one thing I’ve never been able to master is a vegan donut! She was delighted to be able to try her first donuts when we went to Smith & Daughter for Saturday brunch. The ricotta on gluten free sourdough with chili mushrooms was also a delight. It was wonderful to be able to open up a menu where both our dietary requirements were catered for by almost every single item on the menu- you feel as though a weight you’ve been holding without realising has suddenly been lifted from your shoulders. Will definitely be back!

What a wonderful Sunday Brunch we had at Smith & Daughters! We had a booked a table for 5 and were happily greeted by staff at soon as we arrived. Drinks were quickly ordered and brought to our table, before the lovely waitress took us through the menu. All food was delicious and it was hard to pick one meal from the menu! It was mentioned that it was my Birthday, so the waitress organised my dessert to come out with a lit candle on it. I would definitely return to Smith & Daughter. It had a lovely feel, the staff are genuinely nice people and attentive and the food is amazing! Thank you for looking after us. We'll see you again very soon!

At least it's all plant-based. Frankly though a limited menu of very lack-lustre meals that are considerably over-priced.
