Simonette at Palihotel Culver City
Staff was friendly, responsive, and provided great recommendations. We’ll be back!
Great service and a great meal! We had beet salad, scallop special, steak frites, and short ribs. Everything was delicious.
Wonderful service, great food and ambience. Great for lunch... under the beautiful tree on the patio!
Loved the food and the service was perfect. We spent less than we thought we would. Cute little off the path place that feels special. Only critique is that the valet parking is really $$.
My husband and I absolutely love this place. (And I may have even reviewed Simonette before!) It's local for us and both of us get the Paillard and mussels to start. Justin and Ashawn are lovely and professional and the noise level is very bearable. The restaurant is beautiful and cozy and you feel like you are in someone's living room or backyard - depending on where you sit.
Food was amazing. Staff low key and professional
Wonderful ambiance, service and food. This was my 2nd visit and I look forward to my next
I have been here several times...I try to give it many chances. Each time, the service is so disappointing. They never check on your throughout your meal to refill water or your ice tea. They never check on you just to see how your meal is. The food is subpar as well. Either too salty, too bland, too greasy. It's such a cute restaurant with a nice ambiance that it's so sad the food & service is so terrible.
Quiet lunch spot. Expensive valet at 12 dollars. Pretty chilly inside the restaurant but good food and service.
Just had a lovely meal and the service was good. Will definitely be back!
My only complaint is that they have bright circular dome lights on the wall above the tables which shine in your face when trying to eat. It kills the cool ambiance at night. Dim the obnoxious lights 50% and I'll be back. :)
For the most part- we loved the food. On separate occasions I’ve had the Salad Nicoise which was delicious and the Warm Grains Salad Lyonnaise with chicken which was lovely. The bloody Mary’s are wonderful too. Yesterday thou- we decided to start with oysters for the table. They were not served on ice- or nearly cold enough ...and tasted fishy.
In addition- on both occasions we’ve dined here-the wait staff didn’t seem to care... When entrees or drinks were brought to our table- it seemed to be a mystery who they were bringing it for. Checking on refills for water or cocktails etc was intermittent at best. Our check was brought to the table without asking if we wanted coffee or anything else. Perhaps the European or hipster vibe is what they are going for here- but we prefer to eat at establishments with great service in addition to great food.
Cool atmosphere and food was nice. But for the money, the service was really bad. They need to train their staff. And $12 valet feels like a ripoff if you’re eating dinner there.
I love Simonette. The places feels like a French bistro, perhaps because the bar is in the center of the indoor-outdoor space.
Everyone at our table cleaned their plate. Outstanding Moules Frites and Steak Frites. Chicken Paillard was excellent.
We had oysters. Good, but there were too many pieces of shell. Better shucking skills would be appreciated.
The paillard is exquisite and the ambiance is gorgeous. Not loud, so you can actually hear your dinner guests. The servers are lovely and attentive but not overly so.
Great tho the sound acoustics aren’t... a bit loud! And 1 other point... very difficult to read the light color menu in a far atmosphere!
Outdoor patio is great!
Service at the restaurant was great! They have a good lunch menu and happy hour is great!
Just got chilly, but I had been before and expected it. Staff should offer the blankets upon entrance. Lady next to me was freezing.
How can u serve the entree five minutes after serving the beet salad when the diner has only eaten a fifth of it. The extraordinary delicious salmon was completely ruined by this unprofessional service travesty. What did the server think when they had to place the entree plate in an area of the table not in front of the diner who was still in process of eating their salad. U may have just opened but have u not directed your service staff on the proper timing and plating of successive courses. Does the kitchen staff not know what proper food preparation/timing is.
The beet salad, salmon and pot de creme were so delicious but unfortunately the meal was completely unhinged by not knowing how to pace their plating and presentation.
Additionally, I made the reservation via Open Table and handed the host the copy of it yet was not credited my 100 points.
Love this place. Great staff
We have now been here 3 times and really enjoy it. Our only suggestion is to expand the menu a bit to include a few more traditional French dishes. Food quality and service are very good and the room is very comfortable.
We enjoyed the salmon and the salad nicoise. The service was unusually slow and disorganized; both the interior and the patio are nicely decorated but small and very noisy when full. Our patio table was jammed into the corner and had no lighting at all.
The night we went the restaurant was packed and having problems. The computer was down, they were out of certain dishes and wines, and the service staff could not keep up. Our appetizer was served after the main course, half the food was cold, everything took a long time. They at lease comped a few items for us, so I can't be furious, but for someone who only gets out on a date night every couple months, it was disappointing. I could conceive of it being nice if they had their operation in order.... but I'm not sure if I'll give them another chance. We'll see.
Simonette is my go-to for a catch up with girlfriends, coffee and snack while working, business coffee or even date night. The staff is so accommodating, ambiance delightful, and menu offers something for everyone, I absolutely adore this restaurant. I will be back soon!
I had heard great things so took a friend there for her birthday. Lovely ambience, food and service. Will definitely be back!
Amazing food, great service and yummy cocktails. The outdoor space is cute and quaint. Prefect for a casual but nice evening.
we really enjoyed Simonette. Located on a quiet street, they have a lovely outdoor area in the back that is very calming and a wonderful backdrop for a quiet evening and conversation. Nice assortment of drinks and specialty cocktails as well as appetizers. Definitely a place to visit
Service was not great waited 10 minutes for someone to come take our order and it was 15 to 20 minutes before the drinks came in they were incorrect Sweet dreams sweet place an order for an appetizer which still didn’t come eventually the oysters came and they were room temperature or actually felt slightly warm and we had to return them- The ambience is good for this place but they definitely need to work on their service the rest of the meal was OK
Paris bistro in Culver City. Very friendly and helpful staff. Tables were a bit too close together. Felt like we were talking over their conversation. Food is good; however its ok to keep it simple. The Moulet y Frites were great. However, would have preferred a nice fresh plain baguette to soak up the juices rather than the buttery garlic toasted baguette slices. Too strongly flavored and masked the nice subtle taste of the mussels and with so much butter would not soak up the mussel juices.
Last week when I went there it was wonderful, this week not so great. They need to work on consistency
I really spent an enjoyable time. Atmosphere is truly nice, service is attentive. I recommend.
The only two small issues: some pieces of cheese on the farmer board were a bit dry, they clearly had been cut and out in a fridge for too long. Also, the waiter made a mistake and did not bring the wine I had ordered, but I liked it equally so no big deal. I’ll come back.
This place is very sweet. Our server was fantastic, atmosphere was lovely and the food was yummy. It's a bit loud but we had a great time!
Happy hour is nice, the cauliflower entree is delicious
I really love the vibe of Simonette; it's beautiful. There seemed to be only one server who was doing a very good job, but I think perhaps could have used some help on a Sunday at brunch. The food was great as always, but I do wish there were more veggie/pesca options. Next time I'm grabbing a drink because they looked delicious!
Our server Justin was very sweet and fun. I would go back just to visit him! And the food and drinks were very good as well. Will be back.
Both of our meat dishes were over cooked. It took almost 20 minutes for our desserts to be served.
Nice people, great ambiance and location but kitchen needs to step it up in quality and timeliness.
Beautiful with great food and great service! Sit outside for the best experience.
This was our second time eating at Simonette. It was very good the last time but this time was even better. They were very busy which likely was why the noise level was very high. It is somewhat surprising since the ceilings are high and with the open windows and patio should help but don't. The food was outstanding as was the service. We will be going again soon.
This is a very charming establishment with a distinct French vibe. Kind of like a small brasserie. The menu was not large but the choices typically French. The atmosphere was casual, intimate but with a slight buzz. Great for a date or casual night out with friends. Also, as a bonus, the patio portion of the restaurant is very dog friendly. We sat next to a delightful Portuguese Water Dog named Buster! All in all a really enjoyable evening.
