Real problem is that you are sitting outdoors on Wisconsin Ave. it’s a very busy section, trucks and buses abound as does noise. We could barely hear ourselves speak. We should have planned for a quieter time of day!
But service was excellent and food quite good.
Great food, street noise made conversation difficult at times.
The service was friendly and attentive, without being overbearing at all. In fact, they were truly in no rush to bring us the check! The wifi was spotty, but that isn't always in the restaurant's control.
Next time, I'll have the pancakes.
The restaurant was crowded and as luck would have it, the Wednesday night bartender ended up being our server! He was really good and had a great attitude! We were celebrating a friend’s birthday and he came out at the end with a lit sparkler and a slice of cake. It was the perfect ending to a great evening.
All of servers wore masks. We sat outside and there was lots of airflow.
Outdoor dining area was covered and clean. A tad noisy at times due to street traffic.
Okay, so all restaurants are suffering from lack of staff, both bar and service. We felt that last night. That said, everyone who interacted with us was positive and friendly, they listened to us and did the best they could. My meal, the short ribs, was a mess. Cold and and not at all tasty. My wife’s meal, the catch of the day, was well prepared but a bit bland. When we shared this with the wait and management team they see hugely apologetic and responsive. There were no excuses. Long/short, everyone has a tough night. Only good restaurants figure out how to recover and empower their staff to do so. I’m gonna try another night and hope to be wowed!
The service, overall, was not good. There were lots of folks helping out but it still took forever to order and get drinks. Our server was lovely, but it was her first night waiting tables ever. Unfortunately, all the other people did not make things more any more quickly.
We are regulars here and ALWAYS enjoy exceptional food, atmosphere, service and ambiance. Thank you Silver!!
I have been a long time fan of this location. It has been at least a year since my last visit, FWIW.
The outdoor patio is spacious and nice with comfortable seating. Service is prompt and good. My only complaint is the cost and quality of food prep. We had the vegetarian tagine (I think I could make better at home), salmon and asparagus, hummus app (meh), and 3 beers. Our bill was $85. Ultimately, the quality and price did not align.
I’d go back but probably not as readily as before.
The bar was a bit overwhelmed so our drinks took a long time but the food was great and so was the service.
Came at an odd time for an early dinner and had a quiet, pleasant time. We both ordered off the 600 calorie menu, then augmented by one dessert and left satisfied. The server, with fewer patrons than usual, was attentive.
Highly recommend Silver -- great food, great service -- easy parking underground across the street. Enjoy!
Kitchen took a long time and then gave us our meals and appetizer at the same time. So-so service.
Great restaurant with a really interesting menu. Hope to be back there again soon!
We walked by tons of brunch places on our way to Silver where people we waiting to get in. When we arrived and saw how nice the outdoor and indoor space seemed to be we wondered how we found a gem with no wait and reservations available online. Then, we got the food and found out why.
Last night was an off night for Silver. The service was terrible....the food was mediocre. We usually have a good experience when we dine there...last night was just not good.
Food was good as usual. However service started off bad and had to request a new server. Overall good!
The service was even better than usual, and it is usually very good! The food was delicious as always. It is our favorite neighborhood brunch spot.
WE enjoy our regular Sunday brunches at Silver.
We have noticed that the "Jersey Barriers" that kept diners sitting in the curb lane relatively safe from moving vehicles have been removed.
The only thing that stands between an out of contol vehicle (bus, truck, or car) and diners is a flimsy metal fence and wood lattice.
I would suggest that Silover contact DC Gov to reestablsih a more secure berrier before something tragic happens.
Great food, great service! Will definitely visit again when visiting D.C.!!!
Brunch yesterday was really great, we all enjoyed our orders, service was perfect
The chicken piccata was tough, dry and not tasteful. The cauliflower mash and spinach were unappealing and the cinnamon flavor unappealing.
The market catch tacos had very little fish in them and no taste.
The description of meals on your menu had little to do with what was served.
The market fish, fries and coleslaw our brother had looked good, so not everything was bad.
Hope you can improve food as ambiance and service was fine.
Food, service, and ambiance were all excellent. Great brunch spot!
The avocado toast with pomegranate is really delicious, as is the tuna tartare.
Just a bad experience all around…bad breakfast, a hair in my Benedict, and both my companion and myself felt sick after eating there…that was my final trip.
The food was excellent. Nice, quiet dining room. Servers were very nice but just a little slow with drinks.
Service was very slow and it seemed like they just didn’t pay attention to my table at all. Ordered the eggs Benedict and found them decent at best. A bit soggy in general.
Outside patio is quite nice and spacious.
The food is so delicious! Great service and great pricing. Love everything about this place!
We had a nice dinner at Silver, the staff was friendly, efficient and helpful. We ate indoors, and the restaurant was quiet which was nice as the 4 of us had much to catch up on. We found our meals a little lacking. The crab cakes were over salted and the fish in the "fish and chips" was sort of sad, in appearance and taste. The filets were very thin, with too much batter in proportion to the fish. I would not suggest ordering fish and chips.
Our reservation was for dinner at 6:45, and we were seated a little before then. Our server told us that they might be out of several items on the menu - which seemed odd at that early time. We were told our table received the last fish and chips available (possibly accounting for the thin filets(?)
Another great Sunday Brunch at Silver, Cathedral Commons. The French Toast and the Steak and Eggs were this week's favorites. Service was great and fast. Food was delicious and the atmosphere comfortable.
Great ambiance. Corner booth was excellent. Good music selection and appropriate volume. Server was efficient … not more … not less. Food was good … not more … not less. Would come back but not necessarily rave about it. Solid choice for most occasions.
Great outdoor seating for getting back together with family and friends. The menu is very good too.
Not sure what was less interesting. The food or the service. Menu looked great but food upon arrival was disappointing . Our server seemed really unhappy but was average. Highlight were the milkshakes.
Menu has a good variety of indulgent and healthy items; food sometimes comes out w a key item missing (like toast to go with eggs), but the overall quality is good.
Great Neighborhood Gem. My goal is to try a variety of dishes on the menu!!
Spoiled salmon and salad
Very good food, great place to people watch, nice staff--we had a wonderful evening!
Food is reliably good, but not outstanding. Outside is a bit noisy with Wisconsin traffic.
Good food, great service and convenient parking combined to make an enjoyable afternoon. Will definitely return.
