We enjoyed our family dinner very much. It was a special day for my son 13th bday & he loved it. Thanks
Service was way below par for a restaurant that is considered elite dining
Food was good, service just ok. First off they only had one menu for our table, ordered a beer & bottle of wine....got the beer, waited ages for the wine, asked about it after quite a while & it eventually came so think it slipped through the order crack. Very friendly staff, all in all a nice dinner but not great.
Probably the worst restaurant in all of Crown Perth
I took five friends to Silks for the yum cha lunch on a Sunday. We all loved it. The restaurant itself is so beautiful, and the food is exceptional. We will go back soon, no doubt.
We had an excellent dinner for a party of 8 at Silks it was for a 21st birthday celebration and the staff were very fast and efficient. The food was presented beautifully and very tasty. The servings were not huge but a very high quality meal and quite reasonably priced. The staff were able to add a Happy Birthday to one of the desserts we ordered which was a nice touch.
Excellent ambience, great service. It was mum's Birthday I wish they did something extra for her but they were too busy. Under staff but the waiter did a fantastic job. The greetings and first impression could of been better, it felt underwhelm and like of personality (almost too busy to care!).
Have been here a number of times, favourite Chinese restaurant in Perth!
Amazing food and first rate service.
This is a beautiful restaurant and the booth is brilliant for privacy.
We enjoyed an Ultimate dim sum lunch set. The food was delicious. Great presentation and a good selection.
Silks is hands down one of the gems in Crown Perth's shimmering tiara. We got a reservation for parents' anniversary and were not disappointed at all. I would recommend Dim sum set as a must have starter where in there's prawn, lobster, scallop and beef dimsum. In the mains, we had noodles with manna crab, eggplant pork and fish, wok fried lamb, and kung pao chicken. Each dish as delectable as it sounds, if not more, accompanied with cherry blossom tea.
The food was exceptional, the best Chinese we have found in WA. The staff were very lovely, and the service was prompt.
To be honest this restaurant overall was very poor. The atmosphere was awful whereby you could here a pin drop. There was no music, the tables were massive therefore my wife felt about 5 meters away. The food to be fair was okay however given it was meant to be a high end restaurant value for money was very average.
I have eaten in allot of high end restaurants and I wouldn’t waste my money on this one again.
If you are heading to the crown I’d highly recommend Nobu as an alternative.
Set menus good was excellent choice and enjoyed by all in our group of 6. Food was great variety and very tasty. Service was friendly and explained each food offering.
Unfortunately a disappointing dining experience with lackluster food served at the Lunar New Year menu with the main meal of crispy chicken forgotten to be served with the main meal. Staff are mediocre and decor needs an update! Will never return!
Waiter that took my order was not very professional and took my order incorrectly. Waiter even broke my tea cup while serving my tea. This is silks at crown and how can they hire such unprofessional wait staff.
I was also serve with off asparagus, however they took it back but still as a professional cook they have known if the veggies are already off while cooking it.
My husband and I had a wonderful meal on Australia Day. We decided to have the Silks Tasting plate to get a taste of the various foods. Every course was amazing and we were very full by the end. On the night we also had a visit from a group of musicians and dancers in lion costumes. This was lovely and an added experience for the night, but it went on way to long and was very loud. Overall a wonderful dinner.
Excellent service, food quality OK. Grossly overpriced.
Foods was soso...soup not hot.
receiption was friendly...
We always enjoy Silks - the service is always amazing!
Excellent food and services
For a high end Chinese restaurant we were expecting a lot more flavour and wow factor to the food, but left bitterly disappointed. We have had ten times better food in back street Chinese restaurant at a 10th of the price.
Booked online the day before, staff made us feel very welcome and were polite and very attentive.
Food was excellent, and you pay for that experience with it being in the Crown complex.
More expensive than your local Chinese but worth it.
Decor was really nice, definitely will go again.
Staff were exceptionally poor, no drink order taken nor any interest in asking my party if they would like drinks. They were more interested in chatting with each other at reception.
Not the most friendly experience that I have had and the restaurant is lucky the food was very good.
Pity the staff couldn’t take a lesson from the kitchen.
It was an early lunchtime booking so maybe the staff need time to warm up and get into the role of service.
Overpriced , food was nice but not great
Was really looking forward to this restaurant only to be disappointed. Our not so friendly staff member gave us the impression that she couldn't be bothered. We chose the $128 chefs special for 2 people and felt that probably half of the meals lacked flavour and were just ok. We definitely did not feel like it was worth the money.
Extremely disappointed with our meal here.
No soft drink available for our teenage children.
Dry peeking duck, Beef not very tender.
We have eaten at Silks in Melbourne many times, and this meal, did not even come close to that high standard.
The highlight was the dessert.
Generally , Very disappointing.
Everything was exquisite!
Although food was very delicious service was very sub par. No one gave us food menus until we asked for it. Had to go up and ask for forks too. Completely ignored all night. Had to ask for the bill twice because the first waitress forgot she was helping us. Although I can appreciate it was NYE a little smile and help would of been just enough to make the service good.
We've been to Silks before and loved it but this particular night was terrible! We waited nearly an hour for our drinks to arrive after following them up more then 3 times. We never had our water refilled unless we asked either. We ordered the tasting menu and everyone around us was up to their main course of food and we'd clearly been forgotten about after waiting nearly 2 hours to receive food. I complained to the manager and he waved our bill but it was 10pm on NYE and too busy to go elsewhere
A must have dish was the lobster and prawn dim sums . Absolutely delicious ! I loved everything about the food, service and ambience . A perfect dining experience
Underwhelming and poor value for money.
Three visits on three different dates. All disappointing. If a restaurants wants to charge a premium (>20% for equivalent dimsum), the food and experience should match. Silks does neither.
Fried noodles were oily with no ‘wok heat’ that authentic. Dimsum lukewarm, not hot. Nor particularly scrumptious. Service friendly, but slow and non-existent otherwise. My water glass was empty throughout the entire meal service.
Has deteriorated over the years.
We chose the Silks tasting menu at $78 each (min x2 person) which started off ok with nice dim sum, but they forgot about us half way through and stuffed up the tasting order by forgetting the main course. Very slow service, all taking 2.5 hrs by which time we were busting to leave
Should have gone to Northbridge for Chinese not worth it
Service was a bit slow and the champagne which came with the festive lunch special was corked, however, it was readily exchanged. Meal was excellent with good variety.
Waited some time to pay as site was down.
SURPRISINGLY FILLING CHRISTMAS LUNCH SPECIAL!
Our small Office Christmas Lunch party for 4 on Friday 20/12/2019 was held at SILKS, in the Crown Perth Resort. Having dined several times at SILKS over the past few years with overseas clients and my own family, I had previously been impressed with its high quality Asian-Cantonese food; convenient location; efficient but friendly service; and nice decor. SILKS’ Christmas Lunch special consisted of several small courses, served in Dim Sum style.
We celebrated our 30th wedding anniversary with our children here, and it was lovely. The staff were very accommodating to our daughter, who is coeliac and allergic to nuts. I even received a phone call before we attended the restaurant, telling us that they could accommodate our daughter’s dietary needs.
The service was exceptional, and the food, absolutely delicious 😋!!
Very busy restaurant with an exciting menu and well presented food. Sadly there were simply not enough staff there to cope. They all tried hard but we were left waiting for long periods at the start and at several times during the meal. We had only just finished eating when all the lights were turned up on full and told that we had to pay since the restaurant was now closed! You’d expect that from a roadside cafe not a top casino restaurant.
We've been to Silks a few times over the years. The first couple of visits it was very good. No so much anymore. I get the feeling they are resting on their laurels a bit. The service was friendly, but the food delivery was disjointed. And the food was, at best, ordinary. Not bad by any means just not particularly inspiring. Considering what else is on offer in the complex Silks need to step up their game if they want to continue to draw diners. Looking around the restaurant on a Friday night I'd say word is starting to get out.
