Sichuan Bang Bang & Pizzeria Violetta - Wilston
Showcasing the provincial flavours of Naples, Italy and the Sichuan in the South West of China, the side-by-side restaurants pay homage to their respective home countries with authentic Italian and Sichuan cuisines.
Pizzeria Violetta is real Italian eating and age old simplicity refreshed with contemporary flair. Using traditional wood-fire ovens Pizzeria Violetta’s authentic Italian pizza is thin in the centre, thickening slightly towards the crust and made with the finest 00 flours.
Sichuan Bang Bang celebrates spice and bold flavours of Sichuan and surrounding regionals whilst adhering to the principles of traditional Sichuan cooking. Spicy flavours from the ‘heavenly country’ brought together with age-old recipes are Sichuan Bang Bang’s speciality.
You can also find Sichuan Bang Bang and Pizzeria Violetta in Kenmore and Paddington, Brisbane.
Have been a few times and service is always lacking - slow, and not terrible engaging.
Food availability from menu hit and miss.
Truly fabulous food. A suburban restaurant but a great feel. Good service.
Service was bad, staff didn’t seem to care. Drinks were warm. When we mentioned our drinks were warm we were just told that the fridge was playing up but no compensation. Took a long time to clear the table for desert, we had to clear the last bit by ourselves as the waitress just disappeared. Each time we were looking for service staff were just standing behind the bar talking to each other.
I really used to enjoy this restaurant and that’s why I decided to have my birthday there but after this I probably won’t go back and neither will the rest of the family
Great food and overall good experience. Open restaurant and can get very hot in summer. Could use a fan or aircon. Other than that I would recommend to friends.
Our group of four were all impressed by the food, the service was timely and genuine and the atmosphere was cosy. I will visit again soon!
Amazing food and staff. Impressed every time I visit
Food was delicious service was excellently we had a great dinner and will be back
The food was delicious and the service impeccable. We will definitely return. Thank you!
Good food, good service and nice to be able to choose from two menus
Great food and service, we are locals and could just walk down. Exactly what we need.
Excellent food and service. It’s a bonus that you can order from two menus providing list of options for all diners.
We thoroughly enjoyed our night at Sichuan Bang Bang at Wilston. The food was top notch and the service was spot on.
Lovely food, and quick service. We went early on a Wednesday night. Requested spicy food and they delivered. Thanks!
Service was good, only complaint would be the table we were sat at was directly near the the Pizza oven which made the experience uncomfortable given the heat the oven was generating, it didnt help that it was a humid day
FINALLY! Somewhere great to eat in Wilston Village. We adore the chinese and we love the italian pizza too. HIGHLY recommended to us by a chef friend. We now go there more often than anywhere else.
absolutely amazing! we could not fault the place. we had been looking for a good restaurant since moving to Brisbane 2 years ago and we finally found it! service was incredible and the place was very welcoming. we will be back!
Great food although service slipped when they became busy and it was difficult to get staff attention.
The service was outstanding. The food was absolutely divine. A very relaxed and cool vibe to the restaurant. Loved it.
Quick service - we had food on the table within 10 minutes of ordering.
Good food, reasonably priced, prompt service, noisy due to music and patrons, disappointed a pizza was going to take more than an hour due to a party arriving after our booking...so had to change our preferences...know in future to go across road for pizza...
Only downside was that we were there for pizza but seated in the sichuan side which felt a little weird. I don't think there wasn't an option on the online booking to choose which you preferred. Food and staff were great as always though.
I have been to Violetta many times before and absolutely LOVED it - food and service fantastic. We decided to bring friends who were visiting from MEL to Sichuan Bang Bang and whilst the ambience and service was good - we were so disappointed with the quality of dinner that night. The duck pancakes which had been highly recommended - were lovely but there was only a very small portion of duck. The chicken noodle dish was so heavily laden with sauce that the noodles and chicken were drowning. Such as shame as we had been so looking forward to dining there and I am not sure I will be rushing back soon.
Food was delicious!!!! The fish hot pot was divine! Serious great! Lovely evening.
Paied 5 dollars for fake consdrated add water orange juice. Tasted like the power in box and add water.
Food was great washed down with a cheeky NZ Sav Blanc
Online booking service was easy and dual options of Italian and Chinese food meant that everyone was happy!- 4 young kids and 4 adults. The wine list was varied and inexpensive and overall good value for money. Love the share style food for relaxed dining at Sichuan Bang Bang
Fantastic Food, Friendly staff and nice atmosphere
Great local restaurant with flavoursome food - fresh flavours and good variety in the Menu.
Music however was too loud for general conversation .
You don't want loud beats with trying to speak with friends and eat.
Service was prompt and friendly.
Menu options great. Have had the same dish at One venue. Then the same dish twice at another venue ( on the same night "under ordered") and found the variation in quality a little bit of a concern (the second was noticeable better than the first). If they could maintain the consistency in the menu this would make this venue a magic restaurant in Brisbane. The staff and services was very professional.
Food was absolutely yummy and didn't take long at all. Loved the atmosphere. Service was fantastic and prompt! But we did get asked by 3 different people if we were ready to order within a few minutes.
Great use of space, interesting and delicious food - I will be back!
Delicious food, except for the crispy beef, which was quite strange (not crispy). Quite expensive, but worth it. Good staff. Very fast service. Lacking in ambience on a Saturday night - very hot inside.
Food was great - tasty and beautifully cooked.
One of our party needed a seat with a back ( as opposed to the stools that were set for the tables of 4) and this was provided immediately.
I wonder if the settings are comfortable enough for older and less agile and flexible diners? Most people would prefer not to sit on a stool. The 'booths' with the more comfortable seats were restricted to 2, so 3 of our party of 4 had to make do with stools.
Surprised to find affordable spicy Sichuan on the northside! Friendly service, exotic decor & delicious food. We'll be back!
Awesome place with amazing food. Only problem would be the heat. Aircon was not on and windows open. On a hot day all I really want when eating awesome spicy food is great aircon.
Quick to give us our meal, tasty food, great service and really enjoyed the atmophere and mood of the restaurant
Really interesting and delicious dishes, we loved everything we ordered with the exception of the crispy fried beef, which was disappointing, and needed a sauce or something. Loved the crispy lamb wraps and soft shell crab especially. Great for sharing.
When we were there the male waiter had absolutely NO idea how to take an order ! It wasn't hard Two calamari to start followed by a duck and pizza for mains! Explained it three times!!! Still got the duck first, then calamari then pizza at the same time! Heh guys this is basic wait staff skill! Also the calamari was almost inedible it was so salty! Won't go back in a hurry! It's a shame as Wilston Village needs some great restaurants ! I had been there three times before and it was 👍 don't know what's happened in meantime!
The food was great, however the lack of waiting staff is a turn off. I felt sorry for the waiting staff, they were rushed off their feet, the guy next to us had to ask 3 times for his wine, and we had to ask for cutlery twice. As I said, food great, but need to employ more waiting staff for weekends
We have dined here a few times before and on a hot night we were looking forward to a cool, alfresco dinner. we didn't get our outdoor table (probably booked too late) and instead we were seated inside, which was so hot I had sweat dripping down my neck. The doors were all shut and the aircon couldn't cope. I sat there the whole time wishing someone would open up the doors and let some air in!!! Not keen to return during summer if it's going to be like that again!! Food was good and service was fast.
