Our produce is sustainable, seasonal and organic whenever possible and sourced from local farmers, so our dishes vary every night.

This 10 course vegan degustation has been running out of the kitchen window since 2014 and continue interpreting the traditional Sichuan flavours into a modern palate with fresh, local and seasonal produce. The 10 course menu was misleading as the first 6 “courses” came out in two settings, the food looked beautiful but lacked flavour and at one point the waitress bought over a non vegetarian dish and had to rush back to take it before we ate it.
I had seen the social media for Shu for a long time and was very disappointed with my visit.

Vegan degustation was delicious. My only recommendation is maybe not have every dish be so spicy. The atmosphere was great and staff were very attentive. I would definitely recommend.
Wonderful experience. The waitress was available, yet gave us privacy. Plus she was welcoming and well informed on the menu.
We found the chains hanging from the ceiling a little confusing and out of place, however the remaining decor was pleasant.
The real winner here was the food.

Shu is by far my favourite restaurant for vegan food! The flavours are unbelievably good, and the service is amazing. Spoiler alert: the decor and atmosphere is also 10/10. Been many times, and will go many more times!

Everything was beautiful. The only way I think it could be improved would be 6 dishes for$30.
Food was absolutely delicious and our server was very friendly! My only comment is that the servings were quite small (though not outrageously expensive). I think next time I would go for the ten course degustation.

From start to end, it felt like we were on a journey, where each dish, beat the one before, fully exceeded our every expectation, delivering powerfully like New Zealand's prime minister Jacinda Adern, concise, influential, simple and leading by following no one.
I booked and thought the vegan taster was unavailable and was pleasantly surprised to find out it available Wednesday night at well five courses for $25 is a fantastic value. it is a rolling menu that changes each week and the quality of the food is exceptional. Will be recommending to my vegan friends as a venue to check out unique dishes for very reasonable prices.

We had the vegan degustation and was really impressed by the creative flavour combinations - silken tofu and passionfruit! Amazing! Makes me want to try out the Vegan experimental nights on Tuesdays.
The staff were terribly unprofessional (at one point a staff member who was serving our table was chewing food). Another was clearly unenthused about serving us and both were visibly frustrated with us for taking a little time to order. This is the second time I've been here and I experienced the same problems, with the same staff. Won't be back again. A shame because the food is great - as is the aesthetic.

It was a nice restaurant but the food was a bit of a miss. We ordered off the menu and none of the dishes really stood out. Very good value but would not go back again.
This quaint and cute venue was everything I hoped it would be. The food was amazing and the $25 vegan experimental dinner is an absolute bargain. The food was adventurous but delicious. I would recommend this vegan experience to anyone
Nice tasting food although small quantity.
I was a bit disappointed that the food came out so slowly. We booked over a week in advance for mother's day and said we were hoping to be finished in 1.5 hours. But ended up staying 3 hours because there was only 1 chef? and a full restaurant.
The waiter was lovely and kept apologising.
We went To Shu for my 50th on a weds night, we had amazing 10 course vegan degustation with matching wines. Lovingly made, fresh, creative dishes and fabulous wine. Lovely service from Shu personally. Was special evening!

The $25 vegan experimental menu I tried was absolutely delicious and great value for money, highly recommended.
The decor and lighting was beautiful and tranquil. The aroma from the oil diffusers was also relaxing. The service was as expected. The food was okay except for the noodle dish. There was not much choice when it came to drinks and the music was way too loud.
The food was great and the staff were fabulous at explaining all the experimental dishes. We loved the whole thing and it’s great value for money.
Servings were small. The best part of our 5 course was the dessert. After the 5 course we had to order more food. It was really small

Lovely hip and colourful atmosphere.
Delicious food (bit too spicy for me at times) think the soba noodles with zuchinni and persimmon was my fav! The cashew cheese fig was pretty awesome too. In short, loving the experimentation.
Things started out well with a pretty and delicious first offering but the food went sharply down hill at each new dish. It was not busy but were waiting for 20 minutes or more between courses. The quirky fitout didn't make up for this lackadaisical attention, the waiter had time to drink wine and laugh with a friend while me and my date were literally checking our watches in between courses
I met Shu. Beautiful man beautiful restaurant. Food will make you feel special. I only want it all to get better; up and up. Rainbow marbles stripper pole in the bathroom needs a clean, poly plastic or clear vinyl render and then a buff and shine. xoxoxoxoxoxoxo
