I've been a couple times so took interstate colleagues for dinner - they were impressed! Would recommend the feed me option. Delicious food & lots of it. Catered well for dietary requirements too. Extensive wine list, bit on the pricy side though. Would be great to see some more SA beers & wines on the list.

We absolutely loved our evening at Shobosho. The food was incredible and the service equally fantastic. Staff are highly attentive, friendly and professional and it’s a true experience in itself to watch the talented staff in the open kitchen from one of the booths. I would highly recommend trying the Tuna Tataki and Teriyaki Chicken (I’ll be dreaming of these dishes for a while). The extensive wine list includes some real gems too. Overall, one of the best culinary experiences I’ve had to date. Thanks to the whole team at Shobosho for all that you do – we will most definitely be back.

Mixed service - some waitress staff were really good and others not so.

Beef could have been less fatty and less butter in the sauce which I think took away from the beef flavor itself.

All other meals were great - tuna was fantastic!!

Half the menu wasn’t available and the staff member was inexperienced and inattentive. I was at the table for 40min and no one asked for my order by the time she finally came she said the menu item I wanted (the steak which I came for) wasn’t available and 4 other items were also out of stock

Lovely restaurant to celebrate our anniversary. Do yourself a favour & enjoy the pork & cabbage potstickers......OMG they were divine! Skip the prawn & scallop wontons though (not enough flavour for me). The 300gm rib was excellent as well and the sake!!!!!!!!!!!!

I did my research and thought it would be a bit classier than what we experienced. We were unable to get a reservation for 7PM and told we would have to book 2 weeks in advance for that time slot. No problem, we went for lunch the next day (Sunday) thinking it must be awesome. The food was great, don't get me wrong, but our meals and a glass of wine cost over $200. I like to pay good money for a good experience. My wife and I have eaten at some of the most famous Japanese restaurants around the world. Compared with other restaurants for that price, even the waterfront in Brisbane or Sydney, it was disappointing. The old wooden furniture and ageing decor belies the promise and price. It's small, the music was too loud and our booking called "outside dining" was on the side walk. I think my perception and comparisons to other restaurants of similar price were a mismatch. But the food is amazing. About all it's got going for it.

Booked online, easy. The table wasn’t ready on arrival however we were 10 minutes early. We have dined here a few times before and the menu was familiar to us. Our waiter was good and left us alone. Would have liked to have seen some variation in the menu though. Seemed many dishes were the same as visits over past year. The 1/2 chicken was outstanding as was the snake beans and raw tuna dish. Disappointed in the scallop dish which was too heavy in sauce which made the caviar disappear and looked cheap. The wine selection was great, asahi on tap plus great sake and Japanese whiskey available. The vibe is always great. Music - disco and 80’s this night! This restaurant is always reliable and consistent - a rarity in Adelaide.

Our group of 4 tried several dishes off the menu and all were excellent. Dishes provided a well thought out and well presented combination of flavours that were thoroughly enjoyed by all of us. It was made clear from the online booking process that the session was 2 hours- but at 1 hour and 45 minutes we were asked to leave ( politely) . The experience felt a bit rushed but if you are looking for outstanding food and have no desire to linger for that after dinner drink , this lively place is for you.

Shobosho is our new favorite restaurant we cant wait to go back. We celebrated our first wedding anniversary here and it did not disappoint. We did the 'let us feed you' menu and it was so exciting not knowing what we were going to get. Every course was delish. Our fav was EVERYTHING and especially the Katsu Sambo (a friend chicken style sandwhich) and the freeze dried coconut dessert. Some of the best food we have ever eaten.

The food and service were both outstanding.
Some good wines on the list also helped.
A few more good Pinots would help as well as a couple more Rieslings but overall a good list.
All 6 of us enjoyed the food and while the stools are exactly what a restaurant needs for 2 or more sittings an evening, they are certainly not comfortable for any length of time.
Cannot wait to try the sister restaurant now but we will return to Shobosho.
