From a specially-commissioned cooking line consisting of a wood oven, hydraulic grill, rotisserie and customised yakitori pit, the element of fire speaks through simply seasoned, seared meats and vegetables.
The menu covers raw to cooked, with yakitori, noodles, dumplings, bao, robata grilled and spit roasted meats.
Our bar and kitchen operates all day. From lunch, to snacks with afternoon sakes, and right into the night.
Fantastic first experience at the restaurant!! Thank you for a great time and the wonderful service we received. Highly recommend
Delicious food and great service. Came for a late dinner and loved it. Would happily go back for a special occasion
Excellent food, great presentation, good experience and a well run busy kitchen.
We booked for 8:30pm, so we didn't have to hurry to be finished at a certain time. The drinks took a while to arrive but the wait staff were friendly and knowledgeable. One of our party needs a dairy free diet and this was catered for very well, with no fuss at all. Much appreciated. The first dish of tuna and the thin crispy potatoes was excellent and the favourite of the night. All the dishes came at good intervals and all were tasty. We absolutely loved the food and would love to return.
Just go there and have fun
Ok Wine List would like more local stuff
Overall dishes were nice but not “wow” outstanding. The place was just a good place to eat. Nothing to write home about
Busy little spot, well trained knowledgeable wait staff, exceptional food. We had pretty much every non vegetarian dish on the menu and couldn’t agree on a favourite because they were all to die for. Couldn’t find fault with anything and I tried! An absolute gem.
Beautiful Asian food, great wine and excellent service. We loved the raw tuna and cooked snapper. Would definitely recommend dining here.
Food was amazing! Presentation, taste and great selection. Service was very attentive but not "in your face". Only negative is that you have to sit at the bar if you are just two people but that's not a negative for everyone. It was a bit hot that day and sitting across from the rotisserie was a bit uncomfortable. Will definitely eat here again!
Each time I have visited shoboshu it has delivered beyond words.
The staff both FOH & Kitchen deliver to the highest standard.
Could easily eat here every night and not be disappointed.
Aside from the food.
The sake selection has you wanting more.
From the delicate to the left of field varieties which pair ideally with the food that is presented.
Thank you shoboshu.
My partner and I took a trip to Adelaide from Melbourne and this dining experience was one of the top highlights of our trip. From beginning to end the entire night was beyond perfection. Words don’t even do justice to how incredible the food was, the service was impeccable. Can not wait to visit again, we were utterly blown away
Super duper !! Need I say more , this is the hottest restaurant in Adelaide ..
Must go restaurant in the west end of Adelaide 5 stars ⭐️ ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Such a wonderful foodie experience, sitting at the bar watching the chefs prepare delicious morsels we couldn’t wait to try! Service was spot on and the food was out of this world! Loved it!
We couldn't speak highly enough of Shobosho.
We were late to our booking (the last seating of the lunch service) and we were never once made to feel like we'd stuffed the staff around, if anything they went above and beyond to show we weren't a hassle. Might seem like a small thing but was very much appreciated. The food was exceptional, dish after dish had the whole table raving and we rated it right up there with South Australia's finest.
It was our first visit to Shobosho but we will be back without question.
Fantastic combination of friendly/helpful staff, excellent service, amazing food in a laid back setting.
5 stars....without a doubt.
Fantastic food. Excellent service. Convenient location. Definitely a must try!
Shobosho never fails to deliver. You must do the Chef's tasting plate. Delicious food with unique and tasty flavours. The staff are always friendly and attentive. Good wine list too. Top spot!
We were seated at the bar where we watched the food being prepared. Was very interesting to watch the dynamics between the chefs. The food came out quickly and was an amazing fusion of Asian cuisine. Very tasty. The staff were very friendly and efficient. Would highly recommend to any foodie.
always have such a good time and the food is outstanding!
One of my favorite places to eat in the city , I will be back again
Thoroughly enjoyed Shobosho will definitely be back.
We visited on a 40 degree day and the cooling was struggling as all two persons booking sit on the bar. That seating is located close to the stoves. This seating is however good for winter and interesting to watch the team prepare the meals. Gets very busy so allow at least 2hrs for a meal. Cost 150 dollars for two ppl with only 1 bear.
The Food was super delicious, service was pitched at the right level of attentive but not in your face, yummy cocktails, great vibe. We were seated at the bar, loved seeing the hustle in the kitchen.
We were a table of five and really enjoyed our meal and experience however the portions were smaller than we expected for sharing and relatively expensive. So overall, not great value for money.
Went there on a sat night. Got served by this blonde waitress. She rolled her eyes at us. I went there with three of my sisters. Two of my sisters saw her rolling at eyes at us. What an eye opener.
Brilliant service from the crew with great vibe and energy. Food was sumptous for the feed-me menu and great experience.
This was a fun lunch with very good and different food. BUT it would be the only restaurant in the world (and I've been to many!) that does not have ANY Cabernet Suuvignon on the wine list!!
In addition wine prices were way too high ($120 for a bottle of Pol Roger is outrageous!)
Having said all of that I would still go back again but wish they had BYO!
Amazing food, great wine, lovely place!
Shobosho is the complete package. Excellent food served by knowledgeable staff in a beautiful setting. However, the food is definitely the star - flavorsome, textural, interesting and thoughtfully presented.
I was hosting Lunch for clients (4 of us) and the menu had so many delicious looking options and, as it was the first visit for all of us, we decided to take the waitresses suggestion and tried the GOCHISO degustation which was delicious.
I'll definitely be returning soon.
Terrifically inventive menu, exceptionally well prepared food.
Food was Delicious! Service fantastic. The feed me option was exactly the right amount of food! Thinking of booking? You won’t be sorry.
Was recommended Shobosho from a friend and didn’t know what to expect. It was amazing! The food, the wine, the service, the venue, everything is on point here. Would highly recommend
The service was some of the best I’ve experienced, especially in light of how busy the restaurant was. Food came out without any long waits even though the restaurant was full. The food was fantastic, very creative in both ingredients and presentation. I would recommend the gochiso which is the chefs tasting menu!
Considering 5 ladies ended up with a $561 bill at the end of the night even the skinniest chick on the table left famished and needed to eat at the bar up the street. You would literally need to order $90+ of food per person to be mildly satisfied and I was just not that impressed with the food to be honest. I am a serious foodie but just don't rate this place and had been looking forward to going here for the past 18 months. Quite disappointing.
Absolutely loved everything about the place.
We opted not to get the feed me menu and just ordered 6 dishes which equates to the same amount as 2x feed me options ($150 for the two of us)
Will be back again for sure.
Great evening for dinner with friends. Food always amazing and delicious. Great atmosphere and friendly revive. Would recommend to anyone looking for an amazing meal.
We had the chef’s menu at $65 / head which was quite reasonable value. The service was fabulous and the food very interesting and absolutely delicious. Would highly recommend as a special occasion dinner. The only negative from people who like older wine and have a great cellar at home is that Shobosho don’t do BYO and the wine list is quite expensive.
Will certainly head back there again
Amazing food, service staff appeared distracted on this occasion, but what really let it down on this occasion was the heat inside. We went on the first real day of summer this year, it was 35 degrees, and apart from ceiling fans which do little more than move around the heat, there was no air conditioning. With the open grill, by the end of an hour, it was stifling and uncomfortable inside. Needs to be taken into account when booking in summer!!!
On a work visit to Adelaide on Tuesday night, dinner was booked at Shobosho and what a delight it was!
Sitting by the bar, we watched the action, chatted to the staff and devoured the delicious food.
Highlights were the gnocchi with fried egg in a rich sauce, the belly of lamb that melted in the mouth and the cheesecake dessert with meringue and passion fruit.
