At Shōbōsho we blend smoke, steam, and fire. The ancient traditions of Japanese yakitori is combined with the finesse, skill & texture of all that is raw, cured, pickled and fermented.

From a specially-commissioned cooking line consisting of a wood oven, hydraulic grill, rotisserie and customised yakitori pit, the element of fire speaks through simply seasoned, seared meats and vegetables.

The menu covers raw to cooked, with yakitori, noodles, dumplings, bao, robata grilled and spit roasted meats.

Our bar and kitchen operates all day. From lunch, to snacks with afternoon sakes, and right into the night.

food was amazing, service great, would have not liked to sit at the bar but it was also good to watch the chefs prepare everything and they were great in explaining the dishes. I'll definitely be back!

Food is great, as always. Been here multiple times and have always enjoyed a fantastic meal. My favorite is the katsu sando. One of my favorite restaurants in Adelaide

Great food! Plus great beer and sake list! Limited wine by the glass option. But otherwise are really awesome night out, highly recommend!

Loved the atmosphere of this restaurant, could have been anywhere in Melbourne or Sydney. Food was delicious. Food is designed to be shared and the staff will advise if you need more or less. Udon noodles were delicious just a little heavy, couldn't have too much so good thing we were sharing. King Fish was on top of my list, couldn't fault it. Definitely would go again....

Was really impressed how incredibly easy the staff accommodated our dietary requirements. My mum is unable to have chilli in dishes as a result of chemo/radio therapy and that was no problem at all. For me, they didn't even bat an eyelid and delivered me a delicious vegan 'feed me' menu experience that didn't look nor taste like an after thought. Would definitely recommend to anyone and everyone

First time i have been to Shobosho and we all absolutely loved it. Tasty, beautiful food served up quickly, great service, good selection of drinks.

I’m from Melbourne. We just loved it enjoyed sitting at the bar, watching the chefs do their thing. We just wish we got tickets for Matty Matheson 😭 next month. Keep smiling xox

Brilliant restaurant. Every single dish was a 10/10 and I don’t say that lightly. I would fly back to Adelaide just to have that Tonkatsu sandwich or pot sticker dumplings. My favourite restaurant in Adelaide (against africola and Blackwood)

Food was fantastic. However, there must have been a stuff up in the kitchen as our lamb belly and spinach dishes trailed the other dishes by 30 minutes. It put a small dampener on what was otherwise a great evening

Food and service were fantastic. We were seated on a long table with other diners in the middle of the restaurant so it made for a too noisy atmosphere, where it was difficult to hear each other talking but other than that it was excellent.

Great food .. just has then feed us. We had a nice glass of wine and 4 plates that was just right for a light lunch. Did have to chase them to take our order, but that was due to the lunchtime surge

My fiancé and I came for a date night and it was so much fun! We loved sitting near the chefs and watching what they do. The food was so delicious! It was nice that it comes out one or two at a time so we can just sit and enjoy for a while. Currently my favourite place in Adelaide!

My food was too salty, too much vinegar and too much oil. My friend rice didn’t have any vegetables in it, just really oily rice cheesecake was not mixed properly. Large clumps of philly cream cheese in my mouth not so tasty. Service, freshness of food and everything was excellent.

Great service, fast and efficient. Great, interesting tasting unique menu. The steak tartare, pork pot stickers and spit fire roast chicken were highlights. Great experience. Would recommend for couples and small groups. Very good and fun atmosphere with extra effort for a goo birthday experience.

We sat up at the bar and it was so great to see the staff cooking and preparing.

Food was absolutely delicious and the service impeccable!

Would not hesitate to come back!

Have been to this place a couple of times recently, and the food has been exceptional on both occasions.
On the last occasion, we went as a small group & the staff (although friendly) simply weren't engaged.
Summary: Great food. Non-existent service.
