Shoal Creek Tavern
great date night. the staff was great and the food was delicious!
Gisele provided great service. Ordered steak MR and is was rare. Still good, just not my preference. I hate sending food back.
Will definitely go again.
Excellent food and service! Will definitely be coming back.
Didn’t want to complain because it was our first time out since Covid. But I ordered one of the most expensive steaks at medium temperature. The waiter had me cut into it to check it and it wasn’t pink at all. But I felt even though he had me check it he didn’t want to desk with it so I let it go and told him I would be fine. I regretted that decision as the meat was tough and chewy. That’s my fault.
Bar atmosphere with restaurant quality food. Very comfortable to meet friends, great assortment.
It was great.
It was our first time eating out since the lockdown for the pandemic. We were happy to be there and see that they made sure everything was done to keep us safe but enjoy the experience as they always had.
My wife and I went to brunch on Sunday to thoroughly enjoyed it. The food was excellent as it always has been and the service was attentive without being intrusive.
For those wondering about distancing, all staff wore masks and tables were spaced appropriately, and menus were disposable paper.
Now get out and support your local restaurants!
This place is one of our faves. Always a great experience!
We waited a very long time for our food. The waiter was amazing but management didn’t even say, sorry.
Food and staff were great!
On our two previous visits everything was good. This time, however, the Shoal Creek chicken tasted like fish and I had to send it back and order something else (which I never do). They were nice enough to not charge me for the chicken and the waitress and manager were very understanding. My concern is for people with food allergies. Also, another person that had the Eggs Benedict did not feel well the rest of the day. Since there are so many other excellent restaurants in this area, will will probably not return.
One of our favorite places to go. Great food and love their bar!!!
Awesome Valentines specials.
Expensive for what you get, Lobster bisque not only served cold, serving barely covered bottom of bowl, bread was asked for at beginning with soup, wasn’t brought till meal about over and just 2 slices. However Sea Bass was excellent
Paul, our server was friendly and professional. My companion had the brats and eggs which he said that he enjoyed. I had the Kobe burger which was cooked as asked. The small cornichon is a nice addition. I ordered an extra dry Tito's martini. It was not properly mixed--too much vermouth. I explained to Paul how the drink was to be made so that he could convey the message to the barkeep. On the second try, I was quite pleased. The setting is nice; I liked to better than the other two restaurants by the same owner. I plan to return.
This was our first visit to Shoal Creek Tavern and we went for Sunday brunch. The menu was interesting, our food was delicious, our server was excellent, and the restaurant was beautiful. It is a bit out of the way for us, but we will definitely go back to try out the lunch/dinner menu.
I would have liked to get my points for dining at this establishment, but I did not. Why?
Overall, will go back, but want my points for dining there!
Overall the dining experience was average and the food was just good. The service was outstanding.
The atmosphere was just not what we really like.
Great Staff, good food. Cocktails were excellent
Very nice New Years Eve dinner.
Having New Years dinner with good friends
This is a nice restaurant with good options on the menu to satisfy just about anyone. We've dined here a handful of times and the food and service are consistently good.
Came for the weekend brunch. It did not disappoint. I had the jalapeño corncakes which are so light and fluffy and the pico de gallo and fried egg and sauce are delicious Also had pineapple mimosa. Delicious. Only thing I could say to improve is maybe a little faster on serving the food but I was enjoying the time with my adult children so I didn’t mind at all.
I love the unusual combinations of the Shoal Creek dinner offerings, and I especially like their salads. I like that they seek to be unusual, and I love the fireplace!
Christmas Eve family dinner. As always overall experience was excellent.
Friends visiting from CO and hubby gave Sunday talk. Great food! Everyone was highly impressed, stuffed but satisfied. Great beer selection - outstanding prime rib and chicken fried rib eye. Must try the blackberry lavender martini if available.
The noise level was very high. My husbands dinner was fine but I ordered the seafood pasta dish and it was more like a soup then a pasta dish. The calamari was over cooked and tough. I was a little disappointed because it was a special night .
The Shoal Creek Bread is a fabulous favorite! I’ve loved everything I’ve had there. Especially the pot roast! Would like to have a better Happy Hour value. Thank you!
Sat in the rear of the restaurant for the first time as we met another couple (SCT newcomers) there. All was the usual terrific experience we receive in the bar area. Only drawback was that following the meal, one of our guests stated his steak was undercooked by a fairly large margin. He ordered medium rare and said it was “really” rare...
We love Florencio! We have been long-time customers of Jim’s places, since The Village Grill days. The food and ambiance at Shoal Creek is fabulous!! It’s cozy and yet so nice! Our server Andrew was outstanding. The Happy Birthday written on the complimentary dessert is such a beautiful way to end the evening too. Thank you!
Over all Shoal's is still one of the best places around, however, the level if service has definitely fallen since Ceasar left.
The food was absolutely amazing and the staff was so very accommodating. I’d highly suggest visiting (especially for the brisket burger)!
Great locally owned restaurant with great service and selection. Our waiter “Zack” was awesome!!!
The pork chop that our companion had was excellent. He ate the whole thing. The rib eye chicken friend steak was outstanding according to my husband. We will definitely be back the next time we are in Texas.
The outside dining area was comfortable when the heater was turned on, it was a little chilly prior to the heater being turned on.
Great food and atmosphere. Menu is amazing.
Food is excellent, but a high price point for every day family dining.
This was our second visit and we were very pleased overall. The food was very good and the service was attentive. It’s fast becoming a favorite.
Service was excellent. Drinks were excellent. Food was excellent. I think I just found my favorite place to go to. Everything was so good, the drinks and appetizer and dessert. I am absolutely amazed.
Six ladies met to celebrate a birthday. Service was great as was the food. The only complaint was from the three ladies who had a salad as part of their meal. The plate was not big enough to hold the salad once you started eating. The opinion by all of them is for the salad to be chopped into smaller pieces. Our waiter was kind enough to give the birthday lady a free dessert, which was fabulous.
