The 'original' Shark Fin Restaurant was established in 1980 at the top end of the little Bourke Street. Close to the Parliament Station, Shark Fin Inn achieves it's excellence by serving the finest Cantonese food at affordable prices. With lunchtime Yum Cha, takeaway service and an extensive a La Carte and banquet menus, Shark Fin Inn has remained favourite of many despite some strong neighbouring contenders over the years. It gives customers a good chance to savour the famous dishes from Hong Kong without the expensive price tag of the air ticket - or the meal. Close to different bars, cafes and theatres and open until 1.30am daily, Shark Fin Inn is the best place for family gathering, business acquaintance, celebrating special occasions and late supper after a night out.

Our first time at Shark Fin Inn. We had a group of 4 booked for Sunday lunch. Most people were having the Yun Cha. We, however, decided to have the $62 banquet. To say the place was 'packed' would be an understatement. Yet, our banquet dishes arrived rapidly. The food quality was first rate - no complaints there. For a small fee we were able to change the dessert from Lichees to banana fritters. All in all, we left impressed. Will most likely try it again during the week.

First time back in many years - booked for Yum Cha however we did not know when booking a table for 1.30 pm that yum cha finished at 2.30 pm, so felt very rushed. The service was just ok, very hard to get the attention of staff if you needed anything in between the trolley rushing past. Also found it very difficult to understand the description of offerings due to language challenges of staff - so sometimes said yes to a food item, but really had no idea what we had ordered. Dumplings were all very tasty, however I didn't feel there was a great a choice of items as I had in the past. It would be good to have a menu provided on the table describing what was available to order in addition to items on the trolley. Would I recommend? Yes, but I would book an earlier timeslot which makes it easier to pace the meal, and don't expect friendly service on a busy day.

I haven't been to Shark Fin Inn for many years. The service and food were of a good standard. There is a large selection of food, drinks and prices to suit everyone. A most enjoyable evening.

food was very good as usual. However, some of the staff went out of their way to unfriendly, not paying attention and one was just downright rude. Dont blame customers if you are over run and disorganised. If not for, what I think was the most senior manager on the floor who was superb in attitude and attention, this rating would have been lower.
