Shadowboxer is a wine bar and modern Australian restaurant in South Yarra.

We are proud to offer you an exclusively Australian wine list showcasing local winemakers and growers. Our seasonal food menu is flexible for traditional 2/3 course dining or sharing amongst friends. You can't miss our hand-rolled pastas! On weekends we serve brunch menus which are good way to have a tasty and relaxing afternoon.

When it comes to cocktails, hell, we like making them almost as much as drinking them. Our cocktails incorporate Australian boutique distillers, and we keep it simple. We strive to support sustainable companies that produce quality flavours. Come to try our own negronis and house cocktails.

Set within an original terrace house built in 1895, Shadowboxer is a relaxed yet refined space with a sunny two-tiered terrace out front, and two dining spaces inside with banquette seating.

Brunch menu every Saturday and Sunday at 12pm until 4pm. Our A'la carte menu is available also on Weekend Brunch. Brunch menu is four course sharing menu and will change weekly. What a lovely lunch we had. The food was amazing and the choice of wines was great too. We chose to do the set menu and definitely weren’t disappointed. Each dish came out beautifully presented with an explanation of what each dish was. Tasty morsels of goodness all round. Thank you for having us.

We arrived on time for our 8:15 booking, table wasn’t ready and we were informed the previous table were just having dessert. They asked us to wait 30minutes, and whether this would be ok? We said no, and miraculously they had a table ready in 10 mins. No sorry, no complimentary drink, nothing. Following being seated, we cannot fault our waiter, he was attentive and lovely. The food in itself was nice, however the lack of organisation would make it unlikely for us to return.
