Wonderful! Great service matched with impeccable food! I had the veal porterhouse. Better than almost any steak. Wife had the sole special. Warm and sweet. Great wine and yummy desert made for a wonderful birthday meal.
Exceptional service and food!
50th birthday lunch
Food was exquisite. Wine pour was a bit on the small side. A colleague and I were visiting the area and so happy we discovered this restaurant. High recommendation. Would definitely dine here again
Great - as always!
Always great food and service at Serenade. James Laird did a great job creating a funny and exciting New Year's eve menu. We had a few drinks at the bar and always enjoy some of their house speciality cocktails. An overall great experience.
Went for NYE - everything was great except my entree (Lamb) was cold
The food was delicious and it’s nice the restaurant has its own parking. The tasting menu was interesting and worth a try.
Serenade has a limited but excellent lunch menu and the service is perfect. The restaurant is divided into relatively small areas, which creates a nice ambiance.
Always an outstanding dining experience! Serenade consistently exceeds expectations for a special occasion meal!
Deliciously prepared and served. Had a wonderful time.
Amazing as always
I was greeted with kindness and my table was ready when I got there. The waitstaff was well informed regarding the food, wine and cocktails pairings. I was sooo pleased I purchased a few Gift Cards. Looking forward to going back.
Everything was excellent. Great date night with my wife.
Nice place, physically speaking. Anniversary dinner. Service was fair, a little disorganized and the waiter was too flippant for a place in this price category. Filet was overcooked and the rest of the food was uninspiring with the exception of the dessert. Beautiful interior but overall: meh.
The Octopus and Scallop Appetizers were incredible. All in all a great place, but a little on the high side for price and although the wait staff was attentive, they may have been a little too attentive interrupting us in the middle of important conversations. Having said that, we will be back.
Clearly in the top 5 of the top 30 restaurants in NJ, serene, deeply rich and inviting ambiance, Chef's exquisite style of food preparation with accompanying blends of grains and seasoning are spectacular. While the menu is clearly focussed on perfect seasonal picks, each dish is perfectly prepared from firsts to dessert.
A rare treat,
We chose Serenade for our 29th anniversary dinner and we have no regrets. The service was impeccable, the food was delicious, the presentation was lovely. Highly recommended.
Great food, great atmosphere!
The ambience and service were by far the best part of our experience. Unfortunately, I wasn’t impressed with the food. The bacon appetizer was bland, burnt, and fatty. I was actually looking forward to this and was sadly dissatisfied. The halibut was cooked well, but again, lacked any flavor. I did quite enjoy the dessert, apple strudel. My wife had the leek soup, which she thought could have been a little creamier. Personally, I don’t like leek soup, so I wouldn’t be a good person to review it. She also had the steak, which we bought thought was great. I should have gotten that...
All in all, it was a pleasant experience, despite my subpar review of the food. I think we will give it one more try, being the ambience is stunning. I think it would be better to try it on a different night, one where it’s not a prefixed menu.
My server, whom I unfortunately cant remember the spelling of his name made the experience so much fun and enjoyable.
Cant wait to go back.
Really excellent Thanksgiving dinner, really tasty, generous servings, superb value, and the service was wonderful, including conferring on and making allowances for a guest with a bunch of food sensitivities. Been here quite a few times before and always happy to return.
Between the great food; excellent staff and overall quality, Serenade has become part of our Thanksgiving tradition. Great job!
We celebrated *Friendsgiving* this year, Serenade made it warm and inviting. Our group felt like family, we all agreed it was a wonderful way to spend what might have otherwise been a difficult day.
If they have scallops on the menu, order them. They will be some of the best scallops you ever ate. Lovely ambiance, modern, great food. Nice wine list, even by the glass if you cannot handle a bottle.
This is at least our fourth Thanksgiving in a row at Serenade and we keep coming back because the food is very good and the service outstanding. Especially enjoyed by my 103 year old mother in law because of the ramp. See you next year!!
We had a lovely evening at Serenade. We left wanting nothing in addition to what we experienced in the restaurant. The food was excellent, the ambiance was warm and inviting, the greeting staff and serving staff were great, the Chef was wonderful - not only in preparing the meal, but in his personality as well. My family enjoyed meeting Mr. Laird. We were very pleased with our evening at Serenade. Frankly, I am shocked that in 14 years of living in this area, we had not heard of it.
Great all around meal!
Serenade tries very hard. It’s a lovely space, very professional and quadrille service, beautifully presented food. However it just misses the mark. It is always under seasoned and lacking in pizzazz.
Perfect! So few restaurants pull it together the way Serenade does. Food was delicious, staff was attentive but not overbearing and table by the fire was so inviting. Creme brûlée with dessert flight was a great way to finish our meal.
A terrific dinner from beginning to end. Lovely service and excellent choice and quality of all courses.
We had not been here for years I have no idea why we waited this long..incredible, superb, you can taste the quality of the food, absolutely delicious. In addition to the the great food expertly designed and prepared, the staff is top notch. We made another reservation the next day and will bring friends and family and Serenade will be a staple in our dining experiences!
I have been going here for many years but haven't been lately. I was initially seated at a small table near the wine serving area and had to be moved since it was noisy. Do they still put women in the worse table, even if the restaurant is empty. Sad. The special salad was a Butternut fall salad and had 3 pieces of butternut squash in it and very uninteresting greens. Very ordinary. I had the sea bass which was very good. Service was not as expected. Had to ask to have my dishes cleared and never asked for drink refill, which we did order. I expect a higher level of attention and service. Nice evening slightly disappointed
Ms. Spierer, You told us that you did not like your table and happily moved you to a different table. We choose tables for our guests based on how long they have had the reservation, how often they dine with us, special occasions, etc. As a woman owner, I cannot imagine ever sitting another woman at an inferior table because she was a woman. You are simply incorrect in that assumption. We welcome constructive criticism but feel that this criticism is unjust and unfounded. Nancy Laird, Owner
I brought my wife here to celebrate our 1 year anniversary. Food was delicious and the staff was excellent! They even brought out our dessert that said happy anniversary on it! We will definitely be coming back!
Always a wonderful experience, Serenade has been our favorite place to meetup with friends for the past 15 years.
Way over priced. Advertized as a french restaurant, but many of the traditional french dishes not on the menu. Dress code seemed casual as observed by the patrons. Overall review, very disappointed.
Ambience, dinner, wine and service were spectacular as always!
Serenade has the appearance of an impressive dining experience but none of the substance. The food is very overpriced and lacks any distinctive flavor or creativity. The lobster chowder was dull. The salad special was unimpressive. The pumpkin cake was sickeningly sweet and far too dense. Service was good at first but our server’s reactions to comments like the wine being warm were off-putting. When a patron says that the wine is warm, believe her. There’s no need to feel the bottle repeatedly and make a strange face. Once a table next to us was seated, that was the last we saw of our server. Overall a very disappointing experience. We will not be returning.
